Is it still called debate when only one side controls the conversation? That's the question the 62 million Americans who didn't vote for Obama are asking themselves.

62 million Americans now have absolutely no voice in the way our country is being governed. No say in the quadrupling of our debt or in the onerous taxes being piled on top of record unemployment. They have no say in the pending trillion dollar health care 'reform' or the more costly 'cap and trade' legislation steadily making its way through Congress.

With Democrats firmly in control of the White House and the House of Representatives, and most likely the Senate, the left has found no need for bipartisanship. After all, 'Obama won.' Case closed.

Should any pesky Republican complain, the voice goes unheard - kinda like a tree falling in a forest. Did it really fall if no one heard it? The right is reduced to pondering questions like these as the left continues implementing radical change at breakneck speed. Changes that affect every segment of our society and every single American. Changes that are being implemented without the requisite 'national conversation'. Why hold a conversation?

The left is in control and there is no need to consult with the people they were elected to govern. The politicians and the experts know best. And should the GOP try to halt this tsunami of 'change', a quick change of the filibuster rule to 51 instead of 60 is put in place. That'll teach em.

Under the guise of fighting the non-crisis of global warming, the EPA has declared the very air we breathe to be dangerous. Not to worry. Uncle Sam will save us. Here comes cap and trade. It will only cost $3,100 extra in energy costs per family.

Under the guise of universal health care, our government is preparing to take over app. 17% of our economy by nationalizing health care. Not to worry, they are consulting with the policymakers in Canada responsible for the sterling healthcare in that country. The very same government health care that forces Canadians to come to the US to get their medical needs taken care of.

Under the guise of saving the economy, the feds have taken over banks, insurance companies and car companies, prompting even thug dictator Chavez to joke, "Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right."

Under the guise of saving us from those nasty capitalists, Obama has appointed a new Pay Czar to make sure no-one is paid more than the politicians deem they are worth. At least those who are unfortunate to work for companies that have received bailout funds. And in one case, the formerly sovereign state of South Carolina has actually been forced to take bailout funds, and accept all the strings that come with it.

Consent of the governed is being ignored as the Obama administration hijacks ever more power to the federal government, in direct contravention of the 10th amendment and the Constitution. And 62 million Americans can do nothing except marvel at the audacity.

The left is rejoicing at finally being able to implement utopia here on earth. A utopian vision that has consistently failed whenever it has been foisted upon a populace, either through charisma or brute force. But never mind. Obama's utopia will work, experts assure us.

The experts who now hold us hostage are first and foremost, political beings, having been appointed 'czars' on the basis of political connections as opposed to merit. They are thoroughly steeped in theory and liberal orthodoxy and severely lacking in real world experience.

These unelected czars (15 at last count) now have control of our tax dollars and the regulatory bureaucracy that enables them to enforce their whims. Whims which are based more on political expediency than the rule of law. They will never be held accountable when their theories are tested and fail. And fail they must, as history has taught the 62 million people who didn't vote for Obama.

As we speak, the left, with the willing compliance of an adoring media, are kowtowing to our enemies while demonizing and penalizing capitalists, the very wealth creators whose money now allows the government to implement an agenda anti ethical to the American way of life.

The Obama administration, under the guise of tolerance, inclusion, multiculturalism, empathy and concern for the disenfranchised, are destroying jobs though regulation and taxation. A total of 2.19 million jobs have been lost since Obama became President. (The news that Wal-Mart will be adding 22,000 jobs this year is ignored, as they did it without unions or government help.)

The Democrats are enacting legislation that makes it impossible for America to become energy independent, while at the same time, partnering with Arab countries to help them develop nuclear energy.

Our 'leaders' are burdening America with an unsustainable level of debt while at the same time, continuing to send our tax dollars ($106 Billion) to the IMF to bail out the world. And sending $200 million more to Pakistan to help out with their refugees.

The Left, with Obama as its messiah, believing that all cultures and countries should be equal, are systematically reducing America to third world status. A level playing field at last. Whew.

Meanwhile, the 62 million people who didn't vote for Obama wait in vain for their own elected representatives to stand up and say STOP. Alas, aside from a handful of Republicans like Sarah Palin, Mark Sanford, Jim DeMint, Rick Perry and D*** Cheney, the silence from the Republicans is deafening.

62 million Americans are watching America squander its greatness on the altar of catchy, unproven, politically correct notions. And this American is wondering if the destructive policies that are being foisted upon us without our consent and without debate, are being enacted through stupidity or design.

I agree. We are powerless and voiceless. There are only a few Republicans in power who will speak up, but they lack the numbers to do anything. The Republican party is useless. There is no one with the voice, the vision or the courage to bring we 62 Million together to change things. Unless someone rises out of the party to start another one that will speak up and bring us all together. The only power we have is that of prayer, and if you don't believe in that, you have nothing. The rest of us who do must be praying continually for rescue and revival after this appalling mess and destruction of our country.
I spent 8 years being infuriated at the way the Bush Administration hogged the power...divided the country into 'with us=Americans or against us=antiAmericans'. I have since come to respect the way he conducted himself during the final months. So here comes 'Yes we can...Mr. Change Obama' and all that has happened is now all the power is on THE OTHER SIDE and Obama is clearly only representing HIS PARTY.

We are still a nation of great divide; Those that accuse others of being racists for gathering to protest high taxes as they insert the subject of race into any discussion or conveniently lable anyone who objects to something Obama does as being a racist...and of course blacks who oppose Obama have been BRAINWASHED. Those that insist on Fairness Doctrines while they assert their Freedom Of Speech to call a beauty contestant a b.itch for disagreeing on an opinion or attack a former Vice Presidential Candidate's thin skin over a joke told by Letterman involving her 14 year old daughter. Those that insist on laws to prevent hate speech and bullying while they lash out at anyone who has a difference in opinion with nicknames that do nothing but attack for the sake of attacking. Those who declare 'we won, the people decided...get over it' one day and take to the streets in angry protest the next day because voters decided AGAINST something they wanted.

The few solid Republicans in office now are in danger of being swallowed up by faux Republicans admonishing them for being inflexible or not inclusive enough. We don't need more Democrats in any range of flavors or intensity...we need Republicans willing to stand out in the crowd and make sense of all this insanity. Thin the herd of Republicans who can be bought, entised with 'favors', or referred to by Democrats as one the 'likeable ones'. They shouldn't be so comfortable playing together...that's a dead give-away. If it take 2 years or 6 years, we need to build a party of no-nonsense, no-compromise, no-kidding Republicans who have the integrity and principles to stay on task and not get sucked into the game-playing that goes on in Washington.

We need term limits on every single person elected to serve Americans...including Supreme Court Justices. It's the only way to insure corruption doesn't get a firm foothold or pay-to-play politics isn't status quo while serving the people who elected them. Lifetime appointments need to end. The President can still nominate and Congress can confirm, but the Justices need to have a limit of how long they serve. This uproots the good ones, I know, but one bad one is all it takes to bring it all down. Serving with term limits means they do what they campaigned to do. There isn't enough time to put down roots and become a cancer that can't be removed.

None of this will be done under Obama...but we can begin rebuilding NOW!!!
Your right Rick, the Democratic Party has a direction, unfortunatley it is the wrong direction. How can you approve of the insane Government spending during times when Americans are having a hard time to make ends meet? I say that, because the spending comes from these same Americans. We cannot keep on this path, it is destroying the American way of life.

Rick Fuller responds:

Ms. Cole, the Republican Party is in shambles. There is no direction, and what cohesiveness there is in the Republican Party absolutely wants to distance itself from the "Christian-Right."

Given that the "Christian-Right" only comprises of 33% of Republicans, there are going to be a lot of very angry people for a long time not getting their way.

I think that this is a good place to show this Fox News clip from yesterday, Wednesday, June 10th, 2009:

I've learned to be suspect of anything a candidate establishes as part of the platform during campaigning....like transparency. Obama is not change we need...he's not even change we haven't already regurgitated. If another ounce of sunshine gets pumped up his hindend we're going to lose the man to radiation poisoning! Enough already.

The man has a job to do and he should have to do it under the same scrutiny every other president before him has had to do the job. He's not that special...maybe to Michelle, but then what spouse shouldn't think that of their mate? If transparency is ever an actual happening...the entire world is going to learn what over 50 million million have known from day one....he's just a man and he's 100% politician and on that basis alone SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN GRANTED THE CARTE BLANCH HE'S BEEN GIVEN!!!

I agree with your term-limits proposal, because the longer the political hacks remain in Office, the more the Lobbysts and the Lobbysts' dirty money gets to them.

I also commend Senator Chuck Grassley for calling President Obama's Administration for all the exemptions it’s granted to President Barack Obama’s ethics policy.

There is only one infallible way to make term limits happen: The American voter must IMPOSE TERM LIMITS on Congress, simply by NEVER REELECTING anyone in Congress. In other words, don't let anyone serve more than one term. That's the only way to teach them that the voter is their boss! And that “Congress as a career” will not be tolerated. The “one term” can be changed AFTER we citizens get control of Congress.

50% of Americans don’t ever vote, and 95% of these non-voters would vote for term limits. How can we mobilize these non-voters to vote against incumbents? Remember, it makes no difference who they vote for, as long as it is never for any incumbent!

Nelson Lee Walker of tenurecorrupts.com
That's what I do...but when it comes to judges you can't do that. They just did start adding a question; do you wish to retain' to which I reply, 'no'. We had a huge issue over whether to elect judges or continue to have them 'chosen'. There was a lot of misrepresenting about what electing judges would do to our judicial system instead of continuing with 'appointments, which is already corrupt and unethical, so it lost.

I am determined to clean house. We have NO one in Congress with clean hands now....they either caved to the 'sky is falling' TARP nonsence or caved to porkulous so no one should be shocked when they aren't re-elected. If ever they set things up for the perfect storm in clearing chambers....this next election is it. People who fall for the double talk during campaigns and re-elect even one will be taking the wind out of the sails for everyone.

This is our time to speak in one clear voice....NO MORE BUSINESS AS USUAL. I remember the shock and awe in 2006 when rocks got tumbled and turned over...too bad not all the rocks were turned over....but the voice was heard...unfortunately that's when the Democrats took over. These choices have to be made in the PRIMARIES...THIS IS WHERE THE INCUMBENT GETS THE BOOT. It does no good to simply enter the booth and vote Democrat to get rid of the Republican...we don't want to cut off our noses to spite our faces. But incumbents have to go. This we know. Great time for new blood to get a foot in the door...just too bad they only get one term to do what they gotta do. No more career polititians setting their own agendas and doing as they please until campaign time rolls around again.
It does take energy...and money...which is how Obama bought the presidency. It's money now. Without the money to hit the airwaves and plaster the internet and flood Twitters...you go no where. We need to consider how much we're prepared to spend to take back our country. Obama is working to cap Republicans at every turn...limiting contributions...capping charitable contributions...the Democrats aren't going to slink off into the night. They have the power and Obama is litterally REWRITING politics as we speak. We're going to have to work SMARTER over HARDER. I think Obama is capable of rewriting the term limits for president if he feels the need. I put nothing pass him. He has been empowered and he is running with it.

Rick Fuller said:
I don't know if you posters realize this, but nearly every time an "incumbent" is on a ballot, he/she gets re-elected simply because of name recognition. I know! It's insane! There are people out there that shouldn't be voting - but they do - and that usually muck it up for the rest of us!

Getting a movement going to "throw out the bums" is going to take a lot, a LOT, A LOT, of energy.
I was sickened by the vast number of young kids who voted for Obama and couldn't name one thing he had done...didn't know one single thing about his professional life...his time as a Senator...couldn't name one of his platform policies...and when asked specifically why they voted for him....'Change. He's about change. He's part of changing our history.' That's it. It almost made me wonder if we throw the vote away by allowing any one under 21 to vote...but then you have them dieing for us at 18, 19, and 20 and that won't be moved up so forget that. It was just very sad to me. Have our colleges become nothing more than cattle calls for increasing the liberal population?

And then I remember what I was doing at 18, 19, 20....and following politics wasn't it...not until Watergate hit and then it was all you could hear day and night. Youth is wasted on the young....
Let not your heart be troubled...and the voice of reason. Comforting and what we need to hear more of...thanks.

I think all of the "worrying" and "fretting" is all for naught. Our country's values swing back and forth between right and left like a pendulum.

In the end, we always come out in the middle. That's what makes America so great. No one ideology "gets" to "decide" what's best for the country.

It always evens out in the end...

Always has, always will.
