With oil spilling into the gulf the usual suspects are claiming, with no evidence whatsoever, that deregulation of the oil industry is responsible.
As conservatives how are we to argue against more regulation when it is evident (at least so goes the claim) that left unchecked BIG BUSINESS screws the little guy, pollutes the environment, or whatever? This is all rubbish, of course, but what is the answer?
I've understood that the solution is one of a distribution of control and have
written about it. However, I've not been able to clearly articulate the alternative in an understandable way.
