With oil spilling into the gulf the usual suspects are claiming, with no evidence whatsoever, that deregulation of the oil industry is responsible.

As conservatives how are we to argue against more regulation when it is evident (at least so goes the claim) that left unchecked BIG BUSINESS screws the little guy, pollutes the environment, or whatever?  This is all rubbish, of course, but what is the answer?

I've understood that the solution is one of a distribution of control and have written about it.  However, I've not been able to clearly articulate the alternative in an understandable way.

Now I don't have to as Daniel B. Klein wrote about Rinkonomics.  Conservatives should read it and can find it here: http://www.econlib.org/library/Columns/y2006/Kleinorder.html

Jim,
Thanks. How goes it with you my friend?
Yet another neat graphic.
I am catching up on much needed rest and recuperation before moving into a new house the end of this month. Health problems have been kicking on me this year, but I am hardly out of the game or down and out. I post now and then just so you guys know that I am still around and have not totally abandoned you! Everyone take care, and God bless!
