Ok, TCUnation we have less than 1 year before the 2010 elections. We all know the importance of these elections.

It's time to start focusing on our district (representative) and if applicable our state (senator) elections. The first shots of the battle were fired in the 2009 election with conservatives coming out on top. I believe in 2010 WE can begin to take our country back.

We need to start a "boots on the ground" movement to educate people about what the current administration is doing to OUR country. Right now when you post an article on TCUnation you are "preaching to the choir". It's time to reach out.

So...
I am going to open up group creation to District and Local levels.

Why a Group?
A group offers lots of features you can use to provide information via web or email.
One of the greatest features of TCUnation groups is the fact you can email all members of that group, so it can be used as a mailing list. Obviously you can have a forum and offer news and information on candidates. The main idea though behind these groups is a "Boots on the Ground" approach. Talk to your neighbors, family, business owners. Get them involved.

What we need though are LEADERS to run these groups. These groups will NOT exist unless we have members who are willing to step forward and take the lead. You can even for a team to run a group. One might moderate, another promote, another gather news. It really requires very little time though you can spend as much as you like. A hour or so week or few minutes a day will get results.

Group Setup
District - Information on that congressional district. If you would like to lead your district contact me and I will set it up.
Local - Many of you already attend local groups. If you would like to add a local group, ex; (Birmingham Area Conservatives) contact me and we will get you setup.

Other ideas for local and district groups-
-create a team to promote your group
-point a domain name (mygroup.com) to that group (I can help with that)
-use the "Message All Members" function effectively
-link to local candidates website, voting record, etc...
-create satellite groups on facebook and myspace
-meet in person!
-create business cards to hand out
-write feature articles to post on TCUnation homepage
-several people can lead a group, design it the way you like

If we get enough Local and District groups going I will start a Local and District Leader Group, so group leaders can discuss ideas.

That being said I am going to leave it to YOU. Groups are a very powerful feature of TCUnation.

as always - THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS!

I'm very interested. I feel the best way to reclaim our country is by reclaiming our states and also each of the counties in each of the states. And to accomplish that we must become very organized!

I'm on the same page with you, however, I am concerned that we are getting very splintered. I recently put a new FaceBook group together called "Michigan's News & Views". I also am constructing a website also called Michigan's News & Views. I felt each state needed one central location to information share. In the last week, since starting this FB group and the new website, I've had four different groups contact me and ask me to be their Michigan Rep for their particular group. I've accepted, but I am concerned about the splintering. I'm finding so many others are doing similar things...Rightly Conservative is working on the same thing, Huckabee's people have started a similar series of sites, and there are several FB groups now also doing the same thing.

My new group is not intended to stand alone. I simply want to be that 'one central location' for information sharing purposes for the public and for all of the various conservatives groups (and the moderates) in Michigan to post and share their information etc. (I don't want to alienate the moderates, as we will need them to reclaim our country back from the liberals, and I think that they're also looking for solutions to get our country back on track.) I also plan to look for people to head up districts in my state of Michigan. They would be somewhat of a watchdog for their area. Right now I'm listing all of the conservative groups, politicians, news articles, events, and pretty much any and everything that someone looking for answers or direction might want for Michigan. I've listed your group and several others...and there's more to come.

I'll also be adding a page just for the small businessman/woman, since they've been so neglected by this administration. Small business is the engine that powers our nation!

I'll help all I can, but I am curious for any ideas on how we can prevent becoming to splintered..."United we stand, divided we fall". If anyone has any light-bulb moments...I'd love to hear from you. With all that said, I'll gladly volunteer to work on Michigan, but I'd prefer to break down the state into districts and hand the districts over to other individuals to do the information gathering. What do you think about doing something similar to what I've started, but then also recruit one person to just go to all the various groups and post and/or share the information from the main website for that state? I'm not sure how to pull this off without if becoming too convoluted, any ideas out there?
