Boots on the Ground - District and Local Groups
Ok, TCUnation we have less than 1 year before the 2010 elections. We all know the importance of these elections.It's time to start focusing on our district (representative) and if applicable our state (senator) elections. The first shots of the battle were fired in the 2009 election with conservatives coming out on top. I believe in 2010 WE can begin to take our country back.
We need to start a "boots on the ground" movement to educate people about what the current administration is doing to OUR country. Right now when you post an article on TCUnation you are "preaching to the choir". It's time to reach out.
So...
I am going to open up group creation to District and Local levels.
Why a Group?
A group offers lots of features you can use to provide information via web or email.
One of the greatest features of TCUnation groups is the fact you can email all members of that group, so it can be used as a mailing list. Obviously you can have a forum and offer news and information on candidates. The main idea though behind these groups is a "Boots on the Ground" approach. Talk to your neighbors, family, business owners. Get them involved.
What we need though are LEADERS to run these groups. These groups will NOT exist unless we have members who are willing to step forward and take the lead. You can even for a team to run a group. One might moderate, another promote, another gather news. It really requires very little time though you can spend as much as you like. A hour or so week or few minutes a day will get results.
Group Setup
District - Information on that congressional district. If you would like to lead your district contact me and I will set it up.
Local - Many of you already attend local groups. If you would like to add a local group, ex; (Birmingham Area Conservatives) contact me and we will get you setup.
Other ideas for local and district groups-
-create a team to promote your group
-point a domain name (mygroup.com) to that group (I can help with that)
-use the "Message All Members" function effectively
-link to local candidates website, voting record, etc...
-create satellite groups on facebook and myspace
-meet in person!
-create business cards to hand out
-write feature articles to post on TCUnation homepage
-several people can lead a group, design it the way you like
If we get enough Local and District groups going I will start a Local and District Leader Group, so group leaders can discuss ideas.
That being said I am going to leave it to YOU. Groups are a very powerful feature of TCUnation.

Earl, good idea, but can we not integrate the philosophy into some of the existing groups, eg. 9-12 or Tea party? I am concerned that we have too many groups and our collective energy is not being used wisely.
I am glad to mention that here in Florida we are having a congress tomorrow at which the leaders of many different conservative activist groups will be getting together to start building a strategic approach to 2010. I will take your idea and see if we have a suggestion how to fold it into the existing organizations.

Good point Stefan. There are already hundreds of splintered conservative groups throughout the nation. The question is, how can we integrate them?

I will recruit in my area if there is a way to get them all in the same spot. I was even considering putting up my own web site. If you can organize it Earl I'm ready or I'll get my own thing going because like you all say time is of the essence.

I think integrating the groups is key!!!
The idea with district and local is to create a logical order to everything.
My main thought behind the local is you can say to your friend on the street "Hey this is a group that keeps up with 'candidates/election/etc...' in OUR area"
My though would then be to give them a business card, web address etc...
That's why the group LEADERS will be so important. When I say LEADERS I mean several leaders within one group. For every person here on TCUnation there are many more unaware, not active etc...
Hopefully they will inspire people to actually meet together. I know some of you do and I would certainly welcome your group here or your suggestions.
To me a logical order would be:
TCUnation
->State
-->District
--->Local
Too many groups is a problem. That's one reason we've been very cautious on new groups.
Once again I think all of us here now are just "preaching to the choir". Hopefully this can be a mechanism for getting independents, swing voters etc... involved early.

I hope there is no truth to the rumor that Dianne Feinstein / Chuck Schmuer / Dodd and Mayor Bloombergs support a law that this fine upstanding citizen police officer will be tried by the senate as she shot a federal employee on duty.
It is also reported that speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi is demanding that signs be posted on all military bases "This is a gun free zone" .
Senator Schmuer also reportedly said "this proves that all guns should be confiscated from officers in the military and back ground checkers should be held accountable"
The Senate is going to vote on confiscating all firearms capable of mass killings to be taken away from the military and law enforcement and bow and arrows and slingshots will be authorized only after a license is given and a four year back found check completed.
As for Chucks pistol like most democraps he is above the law like heath care for others but not senators.
I hope this is only a rumor as this ban of firearms on all military bases /ships /property may dampen the war effort having our troops going into battles unarmed.
No one bothers to talk about the Clinton's (we are the president) killing of an unarmed child shot in the back and his mother murdered by a sniper ( Ruby Ridge) and the mini Holocaust at Waco Texas where even infants were killed in cold blood.
I hope this police officer is not punished by the senators who are more concerned about the rights of criminals then law abiding citizens.
I suggest every citizen contact the senate and beg them to not punish this fine upstanding officer of the law.

Great Idea Earl... Yeah, It's Time!
The other groups have served their purpose to get folks motivated... now it's time to take the steps necessary to change our legislatures.
They wouldn't listen to our Tea Parties, they threw away our faxes, and they ignored our phone calls.
Boots On The Ground!
That's the ONLY way to make it happen!
