The Liberal Healthcare plan is one step closer to reality. On a rare Saturday night vote the Senate voted 60-39 to take the Healthcare debate to the Senate floor.

FOX News-
"Sweeping health care legislation has cleared its first hurdle in the Senate on a party-line vote.

The 60-39 vote clears the way for a historic debate after Thanksgiving on the legislation. The measure is designed to extend coverage to an estimated 31 million Americans who lack it and crack down on insurance industry practices that deny benefits."

POLITICO-
"Senate Democrats pushed ahead with President Barack Obama’s vision of health reform Saturday night – but at the same time, exposed significant divides in the party that make it all but impossible to complete work on a plan by year’s end.

Democrats voted strictly along party lines, 60 to 39, to send an $848 billion health care bill to the floor after Thanksgiving, but not before a clutch of moderates served notice that they couldn’t back the bill in its current form."

I am disgusted by both the democrats and republicans! While I will give Dems points for trying to make changes to a system with many problems, they are going about it completely the wrong way. The Republicans object which I can understand, but they have offered nothing in return, just saying that the Dems are wrong. As I have stated before, I work in the healthcare field. Just the other day a patient was prescribed a relatively new antibiotic and it is expensive. He has a history of various infections due to failed hip/knee replacement surgery. The private insurance he has will not fill the prescription because they said they need a doctor's order. Am I wrong or is a prescription itself a doctors order. It is an expensive drug, about 80.00 a pill, but this patient has a history of being on various other meds so he is a prime canidiate. A week has gone by and this person still has no med. It really makes me angry that we pay high insurance premiums and they pull this stuff. I personally pay 700.00 a month just for my husband and son through my company, mine is paid by my job. That is the rate with no pre-existing conditions and a high deductable. Something has to be done. I have thought about this, why not a government option added to the mix of private insurers. The people of Congress and Senate have fabulous healthcare. Why not extend the option for private citizens to purchase? Just a thought
G-d Bless America, because we are going to need all the help we can get.
It's over. They needed the 60 votes to stop the "discussion" and bring it to the floor. But they only need 51 to pass the Trillion $$ (and it WILL be more - just look at Medicare, what they promised and how much IT ended up costing) they only need 51 votes. So Reid promised the Democrats who were worried about losing in the next election that if they get it to the floor, they wont HAVE to vote for it, they can vote against it, and it will STILL pass. THOSE Democrats need to be targeted and told they will STILL lose their seats. It's too late now though, it's a DONE DEAL !!! The "wait" for breast and uterine cancer screenings is just the beginning of the death panels.
Now we get to pay for it for 3 years before it even goes into effect. All we can hope for is that WE are able to show the Obamabots that it was HE and his minions who raped their wallets over the past 4 years.
Good luck with that. The Republicans (at least) are DISMAL when it comes to "getting the message out"
Linda
They still have to debate it before a final vote. We all know how that will go. Ron Paul will throw a fit and remind them that it is not constitutional, backed by Demint, Kucinich, and a couple of others. Then Nancy Pelosi will grin like a possom and speak about how proud she is of their success in getting this puke bill to the floor, backed by Harry Reid, Waxman, and several other left brain stooges. Then they will pass it and applaud themselves for such a brilliant accomplishment, while the left brain media will never let us hear the end of it.

The important thing to remember is, any law that is repugnant to the Constitution is null and void (William Manbury vs. James Madison). Stand on that!
Rick, I am with you on no more taxes. I have already decided not to participate in the rip off of the IRS anymore. Hope others will follow suite. If enough did, there is not enough courts to take all of us on. It has to be an effort of all or none together.
The past year in American politics has just made me sick to my stomach. Every day we get another B**** Slap from Washington: Czars, Crap and Tax, Stimulus Earmarks, Commies in the White House, Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, David Hamilton to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and now the passage of Death Care by both the House & Senate. I could go on and on but the list would be around 2,000 pages long. If we don't take back our country in 2010 we will be so screwed. If that happens I sincerely believe that Texas should SECEED.
We have to vote these people out in 2010! We must! Then, we need to have Congress repeal whatever the Democrats get passed before the 2010 election! They must understand that if they do not repeal these things, we will vote them out too. This is all we have left. Nothing we say or do will stop this present Congress and the President because this is the time they have waited for for 30 years, their time to move our democracy out and a socialized society in. Short of secession or revolution, there is nothing else we can do.
Then, Folks - let's turn up the heat in 2010 . . . . all the way up!!!!!!! A mediocre commitment to winning 2010 won't cut it -- we need to clean house of the Conservatives, Republicans and Patriots in name only! Let's get rid of the CRaP Brigade that is holding us back!

I'm sorry there, Scott - but I have seen no indication that there will not be any elections in 2010. I honestly don't think Obama is stupid enough to try to cancel this election when the Democrats know 2010 is crucial to their survival as well. Let's deal with facts here, not paranoia. If the elections are ever suspended, then we can deal with that matter. In the meantime, we need to gear up for the 2010 elections and not try to sit it out, this time - as too many did in the last election cycle.
