Glenn Beck: Republicans/Dems have moved far to the Left - brainwashed anyone?

Anyone else find this topic especially refreshing? I personally am sick of feeling like I need to be Red or Blue. I am a human being with perspective and beliefs. I do not need to become a blind sheep to allow one party's beliefs to become my own to vote for one. Since when has this become par for the course? I am in my mid-30's and am so frustrated by all of the politicians.

I agree with your thinking, but let's face it,most people we see everyday are programed to be led by the nose. How many times has someone came to you and asked, what do you think I should do?Most people are weak in mind and character, and the Democratic party is cashing in with their sheep people votes big time. And that is how we now have a communist residing in our White House.A slap in the face for all who fought and bleed fighting communism.I say.,
I have been a Republican all my adult life. I still research those I vote for. I don't vote for pretend Republicans. I vote for anyone like Reagan whom believed in small government.
CatNip,
I appreciate your comment, but I respectively disagree with him being pro-Democrap. I think it is clear Beck is a true conservative. I have watched his program for about a year now, and it was quite evident during the presidential campaign he was voting for McCain. He was a fan of Sarah Palin for being a true conservative (This is not a Palin thread: she is pro-traditional marriage, Christian and pro-life; feel free to start a Palin thread if you'd like to expand specifically upon her qualifications/politics.)

Beck is:
pro-traditional marriage
Christian
pro-Democracy/anti-socialism
pro-border enforcement
against national healthcare
anti-bailout / anti-TARP
anti-Union due to corruption (for the most part)
fiscally conservative
pro-school vouchers
pro-American made

What Beck has always said it that your party does not matter, unfortunately some of the more pure-breed politicians (blue/red) are entrenched in corruption. John McCain has spoken from both sides of his mouth before. I did vote for McCain, though I disagreed with him on a couple of issues. One could argue he is a true expert on torture, but I believe he is biased for obvious reasons. He also is a Senator of Arizona; have you seen the number of illegals coming through that border?

I believe that you will never agree 100% with any one party. If you do I'd have to ask you if you we allowing yourself to be herded into the crowd. Just as much as we saw people being indoctrinated by Obama, there are Republican groupies too. I believe this has been expressed on Beck as a diversion. You can't always tow the partisan line; you need to keep your eye on the ball. As long as we conservatives deny any party affiliation (Independent) I believe it will hold politicans accountable to their principals.

My opinion is that he calls out Republicans to make a point. As you stated they are as able to succomb to corruption as libs. I have voted straight ticket only twice and it was Republican. However, when a Rupub is incumbent and doesn't walk the walk sometimes you have to vote them out. If I solely voted Repub all the time how much does that encourage debate on the issues? My experience is that when you pick a party, you pick a fate. Most people will not debate the issues with you in that case; they assume you are "Right wing, homophobic, racist Christians." At least by stating I am a Independent conservative I have a chance to debate the issues.

I hope that you and others will consider sticking firm by your ideals but not assume your party is that ideal. Years ago it was the Democrats which were fiscally conservative, and don't forget the Republicans repealed slavery; the liberals wouldn't have you believing that though. I believe that the two party system is what failed us in this election. Too many voted anti-Republican because they only saw two parties.
I don't mind being identified as a Republican. I have always voted for Republicans. For me I have never found a Democrat that was pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, pro small gov't, pro military and all the other important issues I believe in. If there was a Democrat that agreed with my beliefs on those issues I would consider voting for him/her.
Honestly, I see Glenn Beck losing more of his mind everyday. He's become a political prophet of the apocalypse now, and I still believe that if we elect truly conservative people into office, we can turn this country around. But maybe that's what is needed; people to be shown the consequences of their actions, however extreme.

Toby- Glenn Beck is really hitting his stride now that he has a staff research the topics he comes-up for the themes for his programs.

It was his The 9-12 Project that led to the, Click Underlined Link: 9-12 March On Washington, DC
WOLD???? You might want to go back to school and learn to spell. I listen to what he has to say, because he is right, we need to uphold the Constitution and have Freedom of Speech, which this site gives you that right. You can say whatever you want to. Everyone has an opinion and they are like A**holes, everyone has one.

Beck is a hate filled buffoon. Why wold anyone listen to anything he has to say?
To Connie Kramer,
You have proved my point exactly. Conservatism is based on what your ideals and beliefs are, not strictly one party or another. This is exactly why I make selections based on position, not party. People may believe Beck is crazy, that is their opinion and right to speak it. I just see so much hatred from the liberal population, and I try very hard to not to emulate that. That is really the only reason why I make an effort to not identify with one party. I saw a quote today on a church marquee; it said, "Churches fighting, who is the enemy?" This is how I see the Republican Party. Instead of uniting on common principals, and respecting our differences we get snippy among ourselves and insult one another for our differences. This means that the liberals are succeeding in maintaining a divided party. Being angry with one another is not productive.

I understand he does get quite dramatic. A lot of what he says has substance to it. Our country has changed more in the last year than I thought I would ever see. Sadly when I realized Obama would most likely win in November, I felt similarly. I was so tired of Bush-bashing (and I have a lot of libs in my family), I was at peace that at least the next term things were bad they could leave Bush out of it. Nobody listened. He is the most jaded candidate we have ever voted into the White House; we all knew, yet he was liked well enough they voted him in. I fear for what is to come. Like Beck or not, he has some great connections and insight. I wish I was wrong about all of it.
From reading comments, I believe many are of the same opinion, generally upset with the tone of the current way the two parties do business at our expense.
I believe there are four states that have platforms now that are trying to restore true conservatism as intended by our Constitution.
I live in Arizona and yes, McCain and Former governor Napalitano (neither being true Arizonans) have waffled us into a very dangerous situtation.
I did vote for McCain as the lesser of two evils but am now looking to the possibility of forming Conservative Party of United States of America here....lot of work but it looks like a viable alternative to communism.

Likewise there are many liars, as we well know, within both major parties. However, the more I listen to Beck's slamming the republican party, his message clearly encourages the "undecided" to support the democratic campaign in future elections. He claims to be a "libertarian," and this is his personal choice but to be so flamboyant about trashing the republican (basically conservative) party is only adding points to the democratic agenda. Bottom line is, each person probably identifies with the party most nearly representing their personal ideology, (conservatism vs liberalism), and although he may feel the need to connect with people on both sides, his rhetoric does not promote the conservative agenda.

I prefer the true conservative talk show hosts who do not feel the need to patronize the opposition, and he is definitely off my list. His attempt at playing comedianne has become boring and simplistic.

I have been active in politics since the early 1990's and have seen where both parties are Progressive, as Beck says. There have been times in our history where two party rule have split and changed the "names" but again all progressive. People want change, the type of change society wants is to make life easier on themselves, so you then get leaders who are hungry for power and very happy to give the people what they want. The saying is so true, History repeats itself due to people not understanding History in the first place. It is time for us ALL to pull up our big people panties and embrace hard work and responsibility! My husband likes watching Glenn and he has some good stuff on there, I use to be a Rush groupy in my early years. We can't stop the garbage that DC is spewing until people get up from their TV's and take proper action to stop ALL the politians! Ever since this country was formed the DC crowd has felt the population was too stupid to understand our constitution, hence the Federalist Papers. So instead of complaining about someone on tv who is actually helping the cause of making people aware of what is going on, lets just come up with ways to counter all that DC is doing. I know there are people who go to DC with true fervor in their heart to take us back to the way things should be, but they get caught in the massive tide and their voice isn't heard and they become hardened. Look at when we had a Republican President, and majority of Republican House and Senate ~ Did things change? Heck no. Beck isn't saying the Dems are any better. Once anyone goes to DC and drinks the water they all become the same! Yes I'm a registered Republican, but seriously thinking about changing my party affiliation to Libertarian, do I agree with all they stand for? No but it is closer thinking then the rest.

You are correct; I did watch his show about how the government "stimulus" (and I use that word loosely) was being spent and how the political parties have skewed left, and it was spot on. Actually, if this makes any sense, it was beautifully put. But, Beck has to me been acting a little crazy lately. That's all I was saying.
