Glenn Beck: Republicans/Dems have moved far to the Left - brainwashed anyone?

Anyone else find this topic especially refreshing? I personally am sick of feeling like I need to be Red or Blue. I am a human being with perspective and beliefs. I do not need to become a blind sheep to allow one party's beliefs to become my own to vote for one. Since when has this become par for the course? I am in my mid-30's and am so frustrated by all of the politicians.

Aren't we all getting a little crazy though?! How can you watch day to day all the insane things going on and NOT get crazy! We all have our favorites, I like Glenn because he throws in humor, which gives us a relief valve of sorts. It is like slap stick, some like it, some don't , and some don't get it. I happen to love slap stick movies, so hence I like Glenn. One thing you have to hand to the man is that he is helping to teach people the simple basics of Government, History, and Economics. Sadly all these are lacking and have been lacking in our school system since the past 30 or 40 years!

Isn't it great though that even though we all have our differences of opinon we can all still be cordial? It is no longer the Repubs against the Dems; it is Patriots against the Progressives.

Hope everyone is having a super good weekend, got to get refreshed before we face the madness of another week of DC! LOL
We all agree with what you've said. This is a fight for our human independence, and the left is full of corrupt thinking. That is why we need to spread the word with as many people as we can. Put a thought in your mind of what you want the future to be, and it will come true. Believe me, a mind is a powerful thing. The heaviness of the nation is making the air very thick right now.
Very interesting discussion, I have listened to Glenn since well I found his Radio show about ten years ago and I'll admit it I listened to him on CNN. Glenn use to make me so mad because of his Repub leaning ideas and then about 5 yrs ago he started to wake up. I thank God that there is at least one out there who wont walk either parties tightrope and stays true to the Constitution and the Founders intent. Sometimes he may seem like he is loosing his mind but I know as a student of history and a person who studies the science of government, why. G Washington made some very good points in his farewell address and it would serve us all well to head those words. I am involved with GOOOH.com and believe that there are alternatives to this broken system. Remember he is just the messenger. We possess the power to make the difference.
I agree, I've been there basically for years. I find Glenn to be right on the current pulse of the Mob and fully support the idea to SEND EVERY DAMN one of them home from Congress beginning in 2010. It's either that or roll over to their eleatest ideas and become surfs. "Give me Liberty or give me death!"
"Never give up!"
When I was young, I was a Democrat...as I grew older and I settled into life more conservatively, I became a Republican.....but today as a 'boomer' I must say, I'm neither Red nor Blue....I believe in the Constitution, I believe in the right to worship my faith without being handcuffed and put in prison.....I believe in freedom of speech and the right to live to a ripe old age without government placing me in a premature coffin....I believe in work ethic and the rewards that come with it and mostly, I am proud to be an American and I don't like anyone portraying my country telling the world I'm arrogant, devisive, derisive, etc....because I am not. I believe in the sacredness of marriage between one man and one woman and the sanctity thereof. I uphold life in the womb and am against abortion.......and those are my two pennies worth!
Glenn is essentially correct. The two traditional political parties have moved significantly toward a pro big government position over ,roughly speaking, the last century. Both have been motivated, in my opinion by officeholders who see the benefits to themselves in having increased power, while neglecting the effects on the nation. The basic difference between the two is really only in the amount of movement and how fast they want to increase the rate of speed.

About 30 years ago I gave up thinking in terms of right vs. left in the sense of conservative v. liberal and began thinking in terms of big government / small government. If you see, as Glenn appears to do, that both parties are on the big government side of things, it is a lot easier to understand what is going on in the nation's government entities.

I'm not a sheep following Glenn Beck, but someone who came to the same conclusions as he did, perhaps long before he did. I just didn't have an electronic soap box from which to speak. When you speak of being neither red nor blue, you get the idea. We need to think in terms of what is best for the people, and for the people to win, not politicians. That's the bottom line.
I can sympathize with the sentiments, but I totally disagree. There are HUGE differences between the parties. While the Republican party is far from perfect, the Democrap party is the modern incarnation of pure evil. Democraps are EVERYTHING that is wrong with this country. They are the party of Communist medicine, hatred of liberty, and disdain for the power of the individual. The Republicans are ineffectual for the most part, but they don't want to destroy this country like the Democraps. I also am in my mid thirties, and I have voted in every single election since the 96 Republican Primary. I have NEVER voted for a Democrap for ANYTHING, and I never will. The Modern Day Democrap party is slightly to the left of the Soviet Union, and are about as respectable as NAMBLA.
I agree...But we have a 2 party country...if you read Bernie Goldbergs book...Crazies to the Left..Wimps to the Right It explains alot of what the 2 parties are going through today..,I look at it this way...I chose the lesser of 2 evils.I rather be Republican than a democrat anyday...the Kennedy Democrats are now dead when Democrats stood for the people and wanted to make the country a better place..Now those Democrats are now dead and we are stuck with these Left-winged loons to Expand govt..and destroy capitolsm and destroy your freedoms. Do you really want this...because in todays world where the Democrats has all 3 branches of Govt which they pass Bills without even reading them...this is your govt of today...IT MAKES ME SICK....
I was telling family members yesterday that I'm changing my voter reg. to Independent from Republican. We are coming together and are going to change this nation back to what it was hundreds of years ago. We must put an end to career politicians, TERM LIMITS! I'm right with you on your thoughts!
The best answer to this question and any other question is to throw all of Congress OUT!

The only infallible, unstoppable, guaranteed way to get a truly new Congress is :
NEVER REELECT ANY INCUMBENT! AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION!

Most folks think I am too unreasonable in asking everyone to NEVER REELECT ANYONE IN CONGRESS. They think it’s an ‘extremist’ position. But that’s the whole point ! Congress will never listen to us UNLESS we scare the bejesus out of them! To drive the point home, NEVER REELECT ANYONE IN CONGRESS, AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION!

The closer we get to a “Voter’s One-Term Congress”, the closer we’ll get to a “Citizen’s Congress”.

There is only one way to make this happen : The American voter must IMPOSE term limits on Congress by NEVER REELECTING ANYONE IN CONGRESS, AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION! In other words, don't let anyone serve more than one term. That's the only way to teach them that the voter is the boss! The “one term limit” can be eased AFTER citizens get control of Congress.

Congress will never allow us to constitutionally term limit them by an amendment. Our only choice is to NEVER REELECT them. All of them!

Remember too, it makes no difference who you vote for, as long as it is NEVER any incumbent.

I believe that even a little success in a campaign to NEVER REELECT ANYONE IN CONGRESS would move us a long way toward a revolutionary change in American politics, much like 1776. Some of the reasons in favor of this approach:

• It gives us a one-term, term limited Congress without using amendments
• It would be supported by 70% of the country who want term limits for Congress
• It is completely non-partisan
• If repeated, it ends career politicians dominating Congress
• It opens the way to a “citizen Congress”
• It ends the seniority system that keeps freshmen powerless
• It doesn’t cost you any money. But you MUST vote! Just don’t vote for an incumbent
• It is the only guaranteed, infallible, unstoppable way to “Throw ALL the Bums Out”
• It takes effect immediately the day after Election Day
• If it doesn’t work, do it again and again! It will work eventually, I promise.

NEVER REELECT ANYONE IN CONGRESS. AND DO IT EVERY ELECTION!

I know that many folks are frustrated, but there is an answer. Get out you Bible and look at 1 Thessalonians 5:17; see the words without ceasing. Christians all over the U.S.A prayed (I am sure other people in other countries also) that the gathering of Muslims at the White House would be stopped or fail---it was a flop. Praise God! This is a nation founded on Christian principles and if people can't accept that the they should take their gods and go home. Remember the history of Rome? they let in foreign gods and the rest is history. Pray, prayer and keep on praying.
I have always felt to vote for those who are in your best interests. Not for what they promise at Election time, but for what they have already done. In the Millitary, we are told that a good soldier is an informed soldier. This is how I feel about voting. Get and be informed not only on the issues, but about who is behind them. With the advent of the Internet, we now have so many resources at our disposal. You sound to me that you already have been doing your homework. Thanks for writing this Post. Indeed it was interesting to hear this from someone other than myself.
