One year ago, Sarah Palin burst onto the national political stage like a comet. Yet even now, few Americans know who this remarkable woman really is.

On September 3, 2008 Alaska Governor and vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention that electrified the nation and instantly made her one of the most recognizable women in the world.

As chief executive of America's largest state, she had built a record as a reformer who cast aside politics-as-usual and pushed through changes other politicians only talked about: Energy independence. Ethics reform. And the biggest private sector infrastructure project in U.S. history. And while revitalizing public school funding and ensuring the state met its responsibilities to seniors and Alaska Native populations, Palin also beat the political "good ol' boys club" at their own game and brought Big Oil to heel.

Like her GOP running mate, John McCain, Palin wasn't a packaged and over-produced candidate. She was a Main Street American woman: a working mom, wife of a blue collar union man, and mother of five children, the eldest of whom was serving his country in a yearlong deployment in Iraq and the youngest, an infant with special needs. Palin's hometown story touched a populist nerve, rallying hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans to the GOP ticket.

But as the campaign unfolded, Palin became a lightning rod for both praise and criticism. Supporters called her "refreshing" and "honest," a kitchen-table public servant they felt would fight for their interests. Opponents derided her as a wide-eyed Pollyanna unprepared for national leadership. But none of them knew the real Sarah Palin.

In this eagerly anticipated memoir, Palin paints an intimate portrait of growing up in the wilds of Alaska; meeting her lifelong love; her decision to enter politics; the importance of faith and family; and the unique joys and trials of life as a high-profile working mother. She also opens up for the first time about the 2008 presidential race, providing a rare, mom's-eye view of high-stakes national politics—from patriots dedicated to "Country First" to slick politicos bent on winning at any cost.

Going Rogue traces one ordinary citizen's extraordinary journey and imparts Palin's vision of a way forward for America and her unfailing hope in the greatest nation on earth.

I can't wait to get my copy....ordered it at Newsmax for that "special" price. Would pay full price for this one. I think she is doing a great job with her interviews. On Bill O. she was great and then some liberal had to give her two cents. Something about how Sarah talks about the elitist and how she has become one because of her book deal. What an idiot.

I can't believe they bring up her inexperience. I always think "What experience did bo have to become POTUS?" Experience at being PRESENT!!! I think Sarah has more experience in her pinkie finger than bo has in his whole being.

Can't wait to get her book in!!!
she's a class act and now the big blow up is her photo on Newsweek cover, give me a break
I got my copy on Saturday... reading every word and am quite impressed thus far. I will be done with it by the end of the week and then I'll make my decision to draft her for 2012 or not. If I had to mak a decision today, it would be YES but I want to finish the book. Right now it is 70-30 YES and I do expect it to climb.
I am in the the second chapter and it already has my undivided attention. I love Sarah Palin before and I love her even more now. I hope she runs for some type of office. I wish she would replace our Mayor of Baltimore who got caught with using gift cards that were suppose to go to the poor for Christmas gifts last year.
uhh where is the review

Sarah Palin's Going Rogue is a very interesting autobiography of her life and political career so far. A few of her most ardent fans were disappointed as they were hoping for a "political manifesto," a far ranging statement of policies and objectives that would serve as an outline for a presidential campaign.

Sarah Palin has run her own campaigns for Mayor of Wassila and Governor of Alaska without hiring "political consultants" or "advisers" so she has her own "political instincts," which might have contributed to her conflicts with the McCain campaign staffers.

The treatment of Sarah Palin by the broadcast, print and corporate Internet media was another contentious issue during the campaign because, as she wrote, they did note have a bio brief on her prepared as she was not considered as a possible Vice Presidential candidate by their researchers before Senator John McCain selected her. Sarah Palin had not attended a "Brand Name University," like the other candidates (and the Media reporters and columnists writing about her) so her "qualifications" to be Vice President were questioned.

This woman is what our nation needs; honest, patriot, worker and overall she is a believer.
Sarah drives the liberals crazy because she is unapologetic, positive, cheerful and folksy. She isn't a drab, ambiguous and carefully eloquent liberal woman. Her persona is what most Americans think of themselves: down to earth, matter of fact, hard working and good. She is a shining monument to the best of what America has embraced in it's march through history. Like Reagan, she smiles and cheers and reaches those heights of comfortable faith and love of country that most Americans are thirsting for since the politically correct progressives stole the guts and heart of the nation by impeding open, dissenting debate and even "offensive" speech, which has always been the blood stream of American wit and critical satire, replacing it with pornographic language and mindless behavior. Everything that was right about America has now become wrong. Christians and pro life people are scorned. Prayer in public, and even wishing "Merry Christmas" is not allowed. We have gone to the insane asylum and the inmates are running it. Sarah drives 'em nuts because she is like the rest of us and restores our confidence that we can regain control of the insane asylum. Honor, pride, duty, faith, respect, hard work, charity, honesty and fair play. And for these things Sarah will not apologize. We shouldn't either.
Got my copy. A friend went to Roswell, N.M. last night to see her. He took my book to hopefully be signed by SARAH PALIN!!!!
