AM, as a person he may very well be an honorable man, and I don't believe he is a Muslim and I'm not a birther but the facts are he is a progressive and his ideology is wrong for America.
I always thought the FBI vetted a new president but I could be wrong.
I just read a piece from http://www.orlytaitzesq.com/?p=16444 stating that the FBI relies on the political party/election comission to vouch for their loyalty etc. I didn't verify the credibility of the article.

CJ ... you are right on the FBI vetting, but I think that begins when they are a candidate. Probably when the person receives the nomination.
An interesting question is what would happen if they turned up something.
By the way, I am not a birther either. I just got interested in the process question of WHO is responsible for verifying the qualifications of someone to be president. I think it is a h*** in our system to be honest.

I agree Mike, I think this is the first time a candidate's citizenship has been questioned, at least in my lifetime.
This may change how we vet future candidates in the future.

How do you characterize "progressive". The dictionary has this:

http://www.progressiveliving.org/progressivism_1.htm here is a dissertation of progressivism, rather than just looking up the definition of progressives. The definition given here is liberal populism.
All of this is left/right, liberal/conservative, etc. labeling. It really doesn't tell me a thing.
I suggest a better way to think of these things is from the perspective of the two stable forms of government: oligarchy and republic. There is one group of people who believe that government, lots of it, provides the answers; there is another group (our Founders were among this group) who believe that small government is the answer.
The progressives of today advocate a powerful central government to "level the playing field" for the injustices that they imagine. Their arguments are specious and silly and have been dealt with and dispatched for centuries. Nevertheless, it seems that the fact that it hasn't worked, doesn't work, and for solid reasons won't work doesn't change their minds one bit.

AM, when a so-called president does not call for the American Day of Prayer, but goes and prays with the muslims--then what does that tell you? Obummer himself said he was raised in Islam religion--what does that tell you? I do not lie and I keep up with what this man does. Do you? The guy from Hawaii stated his birth certificate was not legit, and he has been trying for months to get Congress to reall investigate this fact. Obummer stated the Constitution was outdated and was of no importance for today's government--what do you think? Does he love our Constitution? He went abroad and apologized for America--for what! Do you think he loves America?
No! He wants a progressive, socialists, global government. He wants international law--not what the Constitution states.Now, you tell me--what president would have done these things that really loved America. I repeat just what obummer states. I will never lie. Could I be wrong and misunderstand? Sure, but on these things I have paid close attention.

Well stated AM and i think you believe it. Wrong, all the same. BHO (or poi-boy, my fav) was himself ashamed of his own middle name. Why? He (BHO) was/is product, the right "color" product to feed the people who know less then you do about how the system works! AM, give me (3) three things in real life your Prezident has done, by himself in the public/private sector that did'nt promote his cause or himself and made money. He has no credentials because he (BHO) is "product" and a poor one at that. Most say his whole GD life (as product) is a lie and that he (BHO) has an axe to grind. After (2) two years at the grinding wheel i'm pretty sure "Most" would agree with me! The good thing is that America hates cheap-ripoff "product(s)" and those that sell them, i.e. pagan-left/ Dems. You are right about the conversation and lets speak of our future as an Nation with no more talk of cheap products that lie & promote other cheap products & ideas. Does look like a brave NewYear! Would'nt you agree AM?

DJ, our Founding Fathers got it right. Their quotes are the underpinning of our Constitution and DOI. We should be revisiting and quoting them now more than ever. Also my reference to John Adams is not the first one on this discussion.

JA, who do/will they fight with, the men or woman? What you say is common sense, but does'nt apply to the Law now does it. And the pagan-left wants nothing to do with "your GOD", your old school mind set or what you think is fact! They'll (pagan-left) will get around to the "real men" sooner rather then later i think. Are you ready and have you prepared? Like i always said, the meek can have it all as soon as i run outta ammo! If i run outta ammo!
