I don't think that waterboarding is really torture. Now parading a person in front of a camera so they and their families can see what's going to happen to them that's another story. These terrorist that the left worries so much about are the same that cut the heads off of our Soldiers then paraded them through Bagdad so that every one could see what they did. WE are at War in War horrible things take place. I do not believe for a minute that George W. Bush would allow un nessacary torture to take place on anyone. If someone has information that could kill people we have to get the information in order to stop the terrorist plots. President George W. Bush kept this country safe for 7 years. And never even got a proper thank you. His own party was afraid to say thanks. Now we see in Washington we were lied to about this President,President Bush was,nt ease dropping on Americans. Barack Obama's White House did that, Goerge W. Bush didn't send union thugs out to hurt people who disagreed with him. Barack Obama did. They said for 7 years Bush' lied. Barack Obama lied about the real change to America.They said George W. Bush started the housing crash. In 2006 the democrats took over Congress and the Republicans in Capital Hill didn't do much to stop them. I agree President Bush' spent to much money, but no human being is perfect. All of washing ton both sides of Congress spent to much money not just George W. Bush. How is it things only really started to go down hill in 2006. That means from 2000 until 2006 the economy wasn't half bad. We the people need to open our eyes and see that we were lied to by a libaral press that wanted a liberal President and that's what they got. God Help us all.

Yes, it is torture. It is designed to be torture. Of course, hanging charred bodies from bridges, flying fully fueled jumbo jets into building with thousands of civilians in them, and constantly blowing up innocent men, women AND children is also torture! I challenge anyone who disagrees with our nations interrogation techniques to put themselves in a situation where their most special loved one or child is being held hostage and will be killed in a short matter of time. Provided you know, or have serious reason to believe, that the person you are questioning has knowledge that would save their life, would you not hesitate to "water board" this "terrorist"???
Want to buy a clue? How about growing a set and getting our priorities right!!

Only if the criminal is forced to wear Speedo swim trunks.... have you seen what some of them look like???? Seeing B.O.ZO on PrimeTime TV is worse than any waterboarding...

I think it depends on what you believe torture is-just like anything else, it can be.
I would argue however, that there should be a line drawn between what defines "torture" as opposed to any other act which would cause someone distress. The word "torture" has been used more and more easily to describe more and more things, with the definition becoming more and more liberally applied as time goes on. Repetitive music has now been called "torture" in one case I know of. So much for the tongs, hot coals, and the inquisition....
Distress causing procedures DO work, when properly applied; admitted terrorists are not protected from (any of the above) by Geneva conventions (even though U.S. law has been IMHO tortuously twisted to protect them) so it seems ridiculous to me that we are publicly tying our hands behind our back and taking yet another tool from investigators, that was working. To me, it is like the night watchman at a major bank refusing to carry a gun and announcing loudly that the vault door is open, out of fairness to anyone who might otherwise have been trapped....
I also believe it's high time the talking heads with pillowy soft hands stop using their own personal ideals (OMG a hangnail!) and applying them to the real world, which they only observe and do not truly participate in. To them, NO amount of discomfort would be acceptible, no matter how heinous the information one could gain.
Personally, I feel if we are not to gain any information or even harshly question these people about what their still as-yet free comrades are doing....then hey, it IS a war. Shoot them and don't bother about the snivelling idiots. Unless shooting people is also too harsh for warfare these days....

No it is not torture. Torture is what the victims went through on 9/11! Innocent people! For anyone who disagrees with waterboarding I would ask them to think, if their families life depended on getting information from one of these terrorists, would you then disagree with waterboarding? No they would not! It is easy to say yes now but in all honesty they would ask that everything be done to save their family. Waterboarding is necessary as is other forms of interrogation methods, or torture to get answers. And, it has worked; George W. Bush kept us safe for 8 years. Now we have a President that wants to sit and have tea and cookies with all the wacko's out there. These are terrorists people, the enemy. You don't and can't negotiate with them.

Is waterboarding torture, maybe. Am I concerned, yes I am about the Americans that are being killed on a regular basis. If we have to waterboard every idiot we have in custody, and this waterboarding saves one American life, it is worth it. I am sick and tired of political correctness costing Americans their lives. Give me a bucket and I will help do the waterboarding!!
