News You Won't Hear on the MSM -- The Anti-Tea Party Left Turns Violent
When there was a whisper campaign that possibly, just possibly a racist was spotted at a Tea Party Rally it dominated the news for weeks. There is still talk of the violence (no proof mind you) that Tea Party Patriots perpetrated on members of Congress.
Still the Tea Party Patriots persist in their quest to return this nation to its roots, those established by the Framers.

SALISBURY, Md. -- A gunshot shattered a glass door Wednesday at a Salisbury office of the Maryland Republican Party, according to a party statement.The party published the statement on its website, indicating that a single gunshot shattered the front door at the office early in the morning.Salisbury police officers discovered the shattered glass after midnight and reported that the office had been vandalized.The statement indicated that a party staffer found a bullet in the office.If you have any information regarding this continuing investigation, contact Salisbury police by dialing 410-548-3165.

Anti-Tea Party groups turn violent

On the eve of the massive 'Restoring Honor' gathering at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington on Saturday, anti-Tea Party groups have turned violent. According to U.S. News and World Report,
'One of Washington's principal supporters of the Tea Party movement, former GOP Majority Leader D*** Armey's FreedomWorks, has been receiving death threats and profanity-laced phone calls as it gets involved in the fall elections. The number and intensity have reached such heights that the organization is leaving its downtown location near the FBI and moving to a high-security building near the U.S. Capitol.
'"FreedomWorks and D*** Armey receive dozens of threatening and harassing calls and E-mails each day. Many imply violence and use of weapons," spokesman Adam Brandon tells Whispers. "As we get closer to the election we expect the harassment to increase."'

The gathering tomorrow in the nation's capital is spearheaded by Fox News personality Glenn Beck. Billed as the 'Restoring Honor' event, Beck maintains that the intent of the gathering is non-political and will focus on traditional American values as encapsulated by the nation's Founders--honor, liberty, faith, and truth.
Yet Beck himself has been the recipient of direct threats from those who oppose the rally.
New Black Panther Party leader Malik Zulu Shabazz threatened to confront Beck and "Restoring Honor" attendees at the Lincoln Memorial.
Meanwhile, a civil rights leader has compared the Tea Party Movement to the KKK, although the movement began in response to reckless government spending and high taxes during the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. In addition, numerous African-Americans have come forward to state that they themselves are members of various Tea Party groups across the nation.
Further, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.--Dr. Alveda King--is one of the speakers at the Beck rally tomorrow in Washington and defended the gathering against charges of racism.
In an eloquent op-ed in the Christian Science Monitor, Dr. Alveda King stated the following:
"Americans are hungry to reclaim the symbols of our liberty, hard won by an unlikely group of outnumbered, outgunned, underfunded patriots determined not to live in servitude to the British Empire. If we want to sing the national anthem at a memorial to the man who led this fledgling nation out of slavery, and made my people free, we should be able to send our voices soaring to the heavens.
"Glenn Beck’s “Rally to Restore Honor” this Saturday will give us that chance, and that’s why I feel it’s important for me to be there.
"Before the words were out of Mr. Beck’s mouth announcing the Aug. 28 rally, The New York Times noted that it would be at the same place and 47 years to the day since my Uncle Martin gave his “I Have a Dream Speech.” When asked why he chose that date in particular, Beck said he had not realized its significance, but in thinking about it, he saw it is an auspicious day to rally for the honor of the American people. He has said, and he’s right, that Martin Luther King didn’t speak only for African-Americans. He spoke for all Americans, and his words still ring true.
"Other groups are planning rallies and demonstrations in Washington that day, and freedom of speech gives them the right to do so – and to criticize me for not jumping on their bandwagon. But Uncle Martin’s legacy is big enough to go around."
The growing threat of violence and acts of violence are becoming more common the closer the nation edges to the all-important November mid-term elections. Some of the groups mentioned above, such as the New Black Panther Party, are known for using intimidation tactics to keep conservatives from gaining access to voting places.
These are acts of sheer desperation. The Leftwing sees the handwriting on the wall and is increasingly cognizant of the fact that a political tsunami is approaching in November. Thus, the charges of racism and the threats of violence.
Prudent Americans must not allow these tactics to thwart their efforts to take the nation back from extremist Leftwing operatives who have demonstrated a clear disdain for our Constitution. Dr. Alveda King's words are thus words to the wise.

Mike those are all horrific incidents and Bloomberg is playing politics. Is this not becoming the "norm" of people in high places? Why should one crime be highlighted over another just because of race or ethnicity? Well, the answer is it should not! But when a plotical spin is a factor then we lose he human factor of the situation. There should never be a difference made because we are all human beings with value... Leave the politcal points in the dirt-look at the human being as one of Gods creations that has been harmed and pray for the victim and the families. The mosque? Just build it somewhere away from Ground-zero. It is sacred ground because of the ashes of loved ones there. Why is this so difficult for Bloomberg and the muslims to understand?

Bastiat (don't have time to chase the reference) examined the role that government played in setting the people upon each other by examining the socialism in France. He argues that divisions within a country are caused by government's creation of favored classes. He then points at America (this was in the 1800s) as a wonderful example of how government stays out of it and people live in harmony with one another.
I was struck this morning by a news program that was pointing out the heckling and anger, including a fist fight at a Reid-Angle forum in Nevada, at these political events. Bastiat told us this would happen if the government favors some citizens over others. The Founders knew this as well and that is why, for those who bother to read what they said about General Welfare, the government was designed to be even handed and constrained to only protection of liberty and property.

Doctorow you make a fair and balanced point. What are we going to do? You know with the Tea Party we are always looking out to stop any violence, and so is the liberal media with the exception that they are looking to us to start the violence. We will never START the violence, but hopefully we can direct attention to the ones that are. And I hope you know that FOX NEWS will show the truth about anything negative that happens. I pray none of the violence happens, but there is always that chance. I do believe Glenn Beck's message resonated with Patriots, and I feel more knees were knealt in prayer asking God to help us do the right actions and heal our land. Our Faith is what we have, and I know God hears the prayers of his followers. We hear the call to Honor and Truth. I also know the unteachables are learning in spite of their prejudices. We will make a difference at the voting machines. Have Faith Doctorow. We will be triumphant!

For a time I have been wondering about question #1. I've reached no particular conclusion but do observe that the nature of information flow, because of the Internet, is changing. People no longer depend upon Walter Cronkite to tell them every night at 6 PM what is happening in the world. It is now all news all the time and there are many non-traditional information outlets, such as this one.
Most posters here are aware of the hazards associated with taking something from the Internet and running with it, but there is a large block of people who are not yet savvy enough to deal with the raw, unfiltered, or tainted information one can find out there. But these new media are providing new ways to rapidly build consensus and to investigate issues. A good case in point was Dan Rather's story of Goerge Bush's missing days in the reserve. In short order the blogosphere destroyed that story as you recall. I'm certain that the MSM took this cautionary tale to heart AND it pretty much ended Rather's career.
I don't know where all of this will land. I do know that the bias of the MSM has been laid bare for all to see. But what I now find fascinating is the response of these news outlets to declining ratings and markets shares. Why would they continue with such a biased approach to the news when it seems to have set their businesses up for failure. This point supports some of your related thesis that there is more driving some of this than is immediately apparent.

I agree that voting has to be rigrously watched for problems. Why is voting such a problem? I have never understood this problem. I don't know where we are headed either. I just keep learning all I can to be an informed voter. I hear from any that they are doing the same. I know too ,that the Media that has a liberal stance is not trusted or listened to as much as when I was a teenager. There has been a social change in the media that is harmful. I wonder what the colleges are teaching in journalism that has graduates not doing much of reporting vs. personal spin or opinion? Why would a news orgnization not want to be FAIR and BALANCED? You are so right that their business is failing. Why are they so blind to what is truth?

hank you Doctorow for those comments. I agree that we must continue fighting for what is right, in spite, of critics and the ones who really have no idea what is going on. The Leftists are bought and paid for, well, we were bought and paid for by Christ himself with his sacrifice and blood that through him only is there salvation. The unions, billionaires, other wealthy groups really do not have a message of unity, but Power. This is not what our Founding Fathers fought for.It was our FREE WILL to think for ourselves and our rights as Americans. This is why blood has been shed on foreign fields. We do not want anyone to disturb our freedoms. Yes, we do have the right to have our guns, our speech, and our thoughts. As long as we give God the Glory for everything that is good and righteous. We do stand up for the truth and nothing but the truth so help me God. Next time you see a penny, pick it up and read "In God We Trust". Think about that, do we? I do and I look for his guidance in everything I say and do. I may disagree with others, but it is nice to know we can agree to disagree. I just wish all the Patriots portray honor and dignity mixed with humility to show what our fore fathers intended us to be and the way a free nation is supposed to be ran. No one person can have ALL the power, it is meant to be shared.

Absolutely! BHO is wanting failure in our country so he can be the dictator. Do people see this yet? If you are educationg yourself than you cannot miss what is going on in the Congress today. Reid is wanting to have illegals become citizens if they have 2 yrs. of college. What? this is insane. He and Obummer are wanting the Hispanic votes. I pray Nevada is smart enough to vote this creep out of office! We have to clean house because it is filthy and full of deceit and cowards listening to their interest groups. "We the People" is the only interest group that should be listened to and we will vot them out in November!
