Nice Things we can say about BO
Yeah, we're all here because we're not exactly thrilled to have him in office, but if we come up with some things that we don't totally hate and can say to libs with a straight face, then it'll be easier to talk to them and some of them actually ARE trying to look at facts and make informed decisions. There may not be many, I know, but isn't it worth trying?
I do like the fact that the President and his wife genuinely seem to love each other and their girls. After 8 years of married-for-power bill and hill, it's a refreshing change. It's a good example for kids in the country to have in front of them, whether you like them or not. Hopefully 8 yrs of the the Bush's example followed by however many of the Obamas will overcome some of the yuck of the Clinton years. Sadly, won't make the fact that Bill made oral sex ok for preteens (hey, it's not sex - the pres said so!) go away.
Michelle is using American designers and not all her clothing is over the top expensive.
So, what other nice things can anyone come up with? That's all I've got for now.

I'd like to repeat the words of the founder of the Republican Party as he quoted the Bible, "a house divided against itself cannot stand." I also hate BO, but we do need to remember that we are 1 nation under God and indivisible....Also, if we are fighting amongst ourselves how do we expect to accomplish anything? We need to let go of the vitriol for this man and start working to change people's hearts and minds. I know its hard, and I'm kind of being hypocritical here, but I'm trying to let go of the hatred and trying to turn it into motivation to defeat him.

Wishful thinking, Elizabeth. No, we can't "just all get along." Republicans / conservatives have already tried your "flies to honey" approach. I am trying to tell you that you don't get anywhere with block-headed sheople who are so easily led down the path of Socialism. They are brainwashed. They love band-wagons. They don't have spines, they don't understand logic, and they love to control everyone else with arrogance and collectivist power. They would rather steal from you than give of their own pockets. They don't care about the Constitution. They don't care about freedom. They don't care about anything you might say to convince them otherwise. You can talk sweet nothings to these people until you are blue in the face and they still won't get it. Ever. I am trying to tell you it is time to give up on having "Liberal" friends. People who vote your rights away and undermine your very existence are NOT your friends. They are ruining the country you love. This isn't tiddly-winks....it is life or death. Does that sound too dramatic? It isn't. It's a fact.

They are not.....they would kill your grandmother to make themselves comfy..they will do whatever makes them comfortable while taking away your livelihood, they will stop at nothing to see to it that you give up whatever you have worked for...Please read below. I am dedicating this one to a close friend who just can't figure things out. I preface this with the fact that she has no computer and doesn't want one, hardly reads the newspapers, and only listens to MSNBC. She'll never see this post. She is shaking her head in disbelief and repeating the mainstream media mantras about how bad corporations and greedy capitalists are to blame for all of our woes. She wonders how did our dear devoted politicians let this happen. To her, politicians are the nanny she relies on to take care of everything. "They" are supposed to be benefactors, protectors, Santa Claus, and everything else warm and fuzzy. Need I tell you she voted for Obama? Need I tell you she thinks public / government schools are the answer to everything?
I used to tolerate this thinking as misguided and sad. I am not so tolerant these days. In fact, I am really angry that she represents a larger quantity of uneducated and thoughtless populous who want "the government" to do everything for them. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes. I guess it is bliss if you don't realize how that ignorance is taking down an entire country.
I have to give this example of her thinking to illustrate the point: One day she called me up to tell me about the disastrous plight of some wild horses that were being rounded up to be sent to the far east for horse meat. She knew I would be sympathetic to this because I am an animal lover. "Oh, something must be done," she implored. "This is horrible!" The ASPCA was involved in trying to save these American animals and needed money, she related to me. So I jumped on the internet, found out where to send money, and got back to her on where to send money to help the animals whose cause she was so desperately pleading. I called her with the information and boy, did I get an earful! "Oh," she said, " I didn't mean I was going to give any of my money to help them." "I meant I wanted the goverment to save them." "I can't give my own money to such things!" "The government should stop them!"
Further conversation revealed more of her thinking. She informed me that she doesn't find it necessary or compelling to give to charities because she pays taxes. Taxes, she says, are the charity of her choice. To her, "the government" is her charity organization. She believes that if "the government" will do the work, then there is no need for "charity."
Marx is dancing in his element at this moment! "From each according to his ability,to each according to his need." Force. Government force. She votes for it every time. What she really wants is the government to steal your money by force to do what she wants the government to do.

Cheryl, your post doesn't merit a long reply. While your points are pertinent, they are not pertinent to this thread. I do not believe I have ever said we can all get along. I HAVE said that it isn't always worth the argument, and that the point of this thread is to come up with some responses we can give Obama's worshipers that will not make us want to vomit on those occasions. If you can't get the point, please start your own thread and stop posting on this one.

Here's some I found amongst the many I hated at www.whitehouse.gov:
Expand to Meet Military Needs on the Ground: Obama and Biden support plans to increase the size of the Army by 65,000 soldiers and the Marine Corps by 27,000 Marines. Increasing our end strength will help units retrain and re-equip properly between deployments and decrease the strain on military families.
Fully Equip Our Troops for the Missions They Face: Barack Obama and Joe Biden believe we must get essential equipment to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines before lives are lost.
Preserve Global Reach in the Air: We must preserve our unparalleled airpower capabilities to deter and defeat any conventional competitors, swiftly respond to crises across the globe, and support our ground forces. We need greater investment in advanced technology ranging from the revolutionary, like Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and electronic warfare capabilities, to essential systems like the C-17 cargo and KC-X air refueling aircraft, which provide the backbone of our ability to extend global power.
Maintain Power Projection at Sea: We must recapitalize our naval forces, replacing aging ships and modernizing existing platforms, while adapting them to the 21st century. Obama and Biden will add to the Maritime Pre-Positioning Force Squadrons to support operations ashore and invest in smaller, more capable ships, providing the agility to operate close to shore and the reach to rapidly deploy Marines to global crises.
National Missile Defense: The Obama-Biden Administration will support missile defense, but ensure that it is developed in a way that is pragmatic and cost-effective; and, most importantly, does not divert resources from other national security priorities until we are positive the technology will protect the American public.
The next two would have been good, but he's already lied about them with the porkulus bill:
Cut Pork Barrel Spending: As a Senator, President Obama introduced and passed bipartisan legislation that would require more disclosure and transparency for special-interest earmarks. Obama and Biden believe that spending that cannot withstand public scrutiny cannot be justified. Obama and Biden will slash earmarks to no greater than 1994 levels and ensure all spending decisions are open to the public.
End Wasteful Government Spending: Obama and Biden will stop funding wasteful, obsolete federal government programs that make no financial sense.
Find, Disrupt, and Destroy Al Qaeda
Create Secure Borders: Protect the integrity of our borders. Support additional personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry.

Nice things? He's got an infectious smile. Given a teleprompter or two that work, he can deliver a speech better than anyone. His cult of personality and his bent on everything very far Left makes for the most dangerous cocktail of confluences this country has ever faced. I forgot to mention his unchecked hubris.
