Nice Things we can say about BO
Yeah, we're all here because we're not exactly thrilled to have him in office, but if we come up with some things that we don't totally hate and can say to libs with a straight face, then it'll be easier to talk to them and some of them actually ARE trying to look at facts and make informed decisions. There may not be many, I know, but isn't it worth trying?
I do like the fact that the President and his wife genuinely seem to love each other and their girls. After 8 years of married-for-power bill and hill, it's a refreshing change. It's a good example for kids in the country to have in front of them, whether you like them or not. Hopefully 8 yrs of the the Bush's example followed by however many of the Obamas will overcome some of the yuck of the Clinton years. Sadly, won't make the fact that Bill made oral sex ok for preteens (hey, it's not sex - the pres said so!) go away.
Michelle is using American designers and not all her clothing is over the top expensive.
So, what other nice things can anyone come up with? That's all I've got for now.

Why would anybody want to start a stupid thread like this one. I guess I could say Hitler did some nice watercolors before he annihilated a whole bunch of people. Come on Elizabeth...read some more on this site and links and you might find real reasons you can argue articulately with your socialist friends. You don't have to start everything out with, "Gee, he seems like a devoted husband and father...so he must not be all bad." He is ALL BAD...for this country, for individual rights, for freedom, for our Constitution... and we don't deserve Socialists taking over the government.

Cheryl, you must not have that many liberal friends if you think you can argue articulately with all of them. Frankly, it just isn't worth my time to try to change the tiny little minds some of them refuse to use. As I have to see some at school events, birthday parties, etc, I don't see a reason to antagonize them. Have you ever heard the adage that it's easier to catch flies with honey than vinegar? How about the idea of including things good news with bad to ensure the other person actually LISTENS to you? Besides, there are times for arguing, and there are times to just say skip the arguing with a relatively meaningless comment because you don't have the time for arguing, or because the other person could do something to "get back at you" because they are your boss, your child's teacher, or another person in a similar position. And we all know that DOES happen, and there's nothing you can do to prove it, stop it, or change it, particularly in some industries.
I want to be active in promoting Conservative viewpoints and trying to bring liberals around so they can see the light. Frankly, if this is an example of what the current Conservative movement is like, I'm not all that sure it's worth salvaging. Being nice to someone doesn't mean rolling over and taking it up the ass. It DOES mean starting from a point where you do NOT assume that they are ignorant jackasses who couldn't find their butt with both hands just because they don't agree with you - and that includes other conservatives. Having something that doesn't make you want to throw up that you can say that is positive about someone they do (or did) really like and almost certainly voted for is a good place to start.
What do I think of him? He's a naive, arrogant ass with friends who are terrorists, criminals, and worse. He is a usurper who has deliberately defied the Supreme Court, wasted tax payer money by fighting the BC cases, and lied under oath when he swore to uphold the Constitution. He is a Muslim whose education was funded by enemies of this country. He attended a "Christian" church where the pastor spewed nothing but lies, racism, and hate until it became a political liability, then he dumped it faster than a New York Second. (He couldn't even make it to a full New York Minute.) He may not even be a citizen now, for all we know. He is too arrogant to even bother making it to meetings, including with the press, on time. He will do damage beyond anyone's worst nightmares to our country. He is a socialist and has never held a legitimate, non-government job where he actually had to earn his pay. He used ACORN to help ensure his (almost certainly fraudulent) primary and general election wins. He is clueless about how the "real world" works. Our country may never recover from him, if he fully implements his policies.
Now, are we clear on where I stand on BO? Just because I want to have something nice to say when talking to his supporters doesn't mean I am anything but opposed to him, his policies, and his cronies. Nor does it mean that I am ignorant of "real reasons to argue with [my] socialist friends".
If you don't like the topic of a thread and have nothing to contribute, then please refrain from doing so.
