For the last few weeks all of my online mediums have been flooded with messages from the #occupy-whatever- movement. It started with #occupywallstreet but has since spread across the USA and into western Europe with #occupydamestreet in Dublin, #occupymanchester etc etc.
The whole movement has me banging my head off the wall in frustration. I have long espoused the need for a overturning of the current political and economical system. Every pillar of our modern societal structure is crumbling. Religion came first and politics & finance are next. We are in urgent need of a structural change unlike anything we have ever seen before but the main questions are how to effect this change and more importantly what should be the goal of this change.Change can happen in a variety of ways and is not necessarily always good. Change should not be seen as a goal in itself.
In certain ways I admire those participating in the #occupy events around the globe. At least they are getting out of their comfort zone and out on the street making a stand for something they believe in. Eager to support this I have spent the last two weeks communicating with a number a number of people involved in these events to ascertain what their goals are and how they plan to achieve these. So far none have been able to provide a clear answer. They were clear enough about what they opposed and who (according to them) the bad guys were but none could tell me what they wanted to achieve or more to the point how they planned to achieve this. It seemed very much a movement of “let’s just get together and protest and we see where it takes us”. This is not something I support.

I do agree 100%! Well meaning people beyond doubt, but their ‘more hand-outs from the government’ culture prepares the ground for the establishment of an even bigger and more intrusive government machine, followed by loss of individual liberties and personal freedom. The whole ‘Occupy movement’ appears to have been hijacked by false prophets from the radical left.

For the last 30yrs I have been watching the political goings on to the extent that several of my friends think I need a different hobby.
To me this means the future of the USA doesn’t really matter very much to them.
The survival of the USA IS my hobby.
I don’t agree that the “occupy something somewhere” people are well meaning in that they are not thinking through what they are doing. In the numerous interviews with the protesters, I have seen, none seem to have thought out why they are protesting!! All the “reasoning they offer are just liberal talking points… at best! None have been able to offer any real detail.
Thus they are really acting in an extremely careless and dangerous way while opening the door to any power happy despot that wants to harm the USA. There are plenty of those despots out there just waiting for their moment.
I have no reservation that obummer is optimizing the despot’s opportunitys. Obama’s job appears to me to be execute the “cous de gras”… the killing blow, so the next Hitler can take over. I have no reservation that these protesters are facilitating this event.
The present liberal argument is “The gov’t of the USA system has failed”.
How they could know this I can’t figure out since none of them were alive when the original gov’t system of the USA was in use.
I don’t see anything wrong with the system of gov’t the USA had… except that our elected officials ABANDONED it 100 years ago!! For their own self interests and enrichment at the expense of “We the people”!
The mechanism to kill the USA was put into motion 100 years ago. In obummer, the executioner has arrived!!
You can watch a documentary, on the history channel, about the “rise and fall of the third reicht” (the Nazis). Hitler took advantage of the condition of the country (germany), at the time, to establish himself as the savior of Germany. He accomplished that.
After consolidating his power he revealed his real intent. World domination at any cost. Once his intentions became known…. It was too late!
Had Hitler been assinated in 1937 (before he let his true intentions be known) we might be praising him as the finest leader of the 20th century.
I see obama as the man the communists of the USA have put into office to execute the “killing blow” to the USA.
Through reading a few books, and observing our elected officials overdoing their jobs, I am convinced that ALL of the elected officials of the USA have intentionally put us, the USA, in the fast lane to communism and thus ruin.
Make no mistake about it every “CITIZEN” of the USA is today a SLAVE!!
The elected officials of the USA have already made every citizen of the USA into economic slaves! The gov’t never cared what race their slaves were they only cared that they controlled everyone and there was no escape! The income tax system is the control system! The federal reserve is the most powerful taxing system in the world!
Has it occurred to any of you that “ownership” of real property was made impossible in the USA?? As long as you have to pay any money to >anyone< to live in your house YOU DO NOT OWN IT! When you have to pay someone else to keep and or use ANYTHING you do NOT own it! THEY DO! This is called paying rent.
My question to you all is “are you also going to wait until it is too late?” If you do… what will you tell YOUR children, or your grand children, when they ask “Mom/Dad What were YOU doing to stop the collapse of the most citizen oriented country ever built??” “Why did you let the despots steal MY birth right??”. Why have YOU predestined ME to a life of SLAVERY?
“We the people” need conservative constitutional people only in ALL of the next 10 elections (president to dog catcher) or I feel the USA will be a footnote in history in my lifetime.
To drive my point home I am 62 years old. I am tired of being a slave. 60 years ago I could retire now. With the taxing greed that runs all the elected officials of the USA I will never retire. I may even get to live in a cardboard box someday! Unless the elected decide to tax that too!
Ever notice that MASSIVE benefit packages the elected’s get… at our expense?
I don’t believe the elected’s should get paid, including benefits, any more than the average citizen/slave gets. That would be after you remove the rich from the math.
I have to stop here when I think about how “We the people” let this once great country down I get too agitated.

Great contribution...I too will be 62 next month and would like to share some things I have seen happen in the last 40 years.The "Hippie Generation's" only gift to this Great Country were the rock bands that came out of this era...But...they started the seed toward Socialism in this country as we see it now ...their attitude toward the Viet Nam Vet. was appalling..THEN we moved on to the YUPPIES who seemed to think "WHAT THEY OWNED" was more important than "how they acted"....then came the "GIMMES"(left over hippies who wanted what the yuppies had.)..Then the "Its All About Mees"(a combination of the Yuppies and the Gimmes"...which brings us to today..The "LOOK AT MEES"...15 minutes of fame???hardly,,,Now all anyone cares about is How They Can Get On Television.."c'mon kids...stand under that awning that's ready to collapse..we might get $10,000 for a real "funny" video"..its all about Reality T.V., which this entire generation seems to be "drunk" on and they dont even see that 98% of it is choregraphed and set-up..you think Chaz Bono would have even gotten on DWTS stars if Bristol Palin wasn't on earlier...SURE, Bristol made a mistake, but "Oh, My!!" shes from a Christian family..so the ACLU had to get their half-penny in(their contribution isn't even worth two cents)..NOW, about "Our Great Intellectually Speaking Thespian Leader".....B.O.ZO is nothing but a power-hungry self-centered egotistical narcissist but the mainstream pathetic NBC, CBS and ABC have convinced the American people that he is a great-speaking-nice-guy...give me a brek..he is the only politician who will go into Hollywood AFTER his political career...he craves the limelight..probably has wall-to-wall mirrors in the White House...is a "GREAT"??? speaker because he graduated with a Law degree from Harvard....Don't you have to take 24 hours of B.S. 101 to graduate from there..I'm staring to rant...the unfortunate thing is I am one of those rarities that's left here...a Christian 1st, and a Conservative 2nd..I pray that more will join...Thanks for your column again

Thanks for picking up on my blogpost.
Lots more has expired in my quest to establish the motives behind the #occupy movement. Am writing a more extensive article about it but it might not surprise some that my "questioning" has led to abuse, veiled threats and several hacking attempts on my servers.

Its interesting to see all the media coverage the former Iraq veteran is getting...first of all, God Bless Him for his service to the greatest country in the world..BUT, now I have to ask him, ..."What were you doing there?" I understand he was protesting with other veterans who are against the war..well, that's fine and dandy..but why are they doing it at an Occupy Wall Street Rally?..it just goes to show how unorganized and unclear this mess is, and the Lamesteam Media is going to milk it for all they can...B.O.ZO is at the top and supporting every bit of it..What frightens me is that both parties again are starting to use that monicker left over from the elections of 2008..."Do You Really Think The Ameican People Are That Stupid"...the tragic answer to this is YES
P.S.: don't get all of this blown out of shape....I m talking about the people in this country, NOT the country...its kind of like "I want B.O. ZO to FAIL MISERABLY" but I want the U.S. of A. to still continue to be the greatest country in the world that it always has been... G.B.A.
