social network for conservatives
Permalink Reply by George R. on October 27, 2011 at 10:08pm Not broadcasted on the Mass Media is that ACORN is involved. An orginization often funded by BO / dems with billions of tax dollars, and proven to be guilty of voter fraud. The protester aren't protesters at all but anti captializim rebles. Hoping to bring down the present form of goverment for full blown socializim. They'er just pawns in the Commie take over of the US. Or what I call. Lazy Scum Bags. 2 million peaceful demonstraters can gather at the steps of the capital and the Media barely covers it. 40 loosers group around the door of Bank of America and we are on the brink of civil war..

Permalink Reply by Douglas Hainline on October 28, 2011 at 1:06am I would like to respectfully disagree with most of the posters here.
(1) Of course the MSM, the Left in all its forms, the Democrats, the labor unions, ACORN ... all will love OWS and will and are doing all they can to popularize it. They see it as their answer to the Tea Party.
(2) Of course, every Loony Tune in the country will jump into OWS with all four feet. Druggies, Lesbian Vegans, Revolutionary Communists ... all of them will be there.
(3) Of course, we can expect the various Leninist sects to struggle to take over the leadership of OWS (and fight viciously among themselves as they do so). Look for Workers World (through their front group ANSWER), the Revolutionary Communist Party, the Progressive Labor Party, the Communist Party, to be fighting for leadership.
(4) Of course, all the faults of the young will be displayed, since (unlike the Tea Party), the average age of the protesters puts many of them still in their extended childhood phase.
But... if you think this is just a media-invented, phoney, astro-turf, Far Left-spawned fake ... you are wrong. All the charges made by people here against OWS -- that it's an invention of outside agitators, a creation of the media, etc -- were made by the Left against the Tea Party.
But both OWS and the Tea Party represent genuine mass sentiment. Neither could have arisen five years ago. It has taken the crisis in our country (and the world) to mobilize previously politically passive people.
Now ... what should our attitude to OWS be? I assert that there are many people who sympathyze with OWS -- perhaps even some who come down to the occupation sites -- who basically are not really going to be sympathetic with the pro-statist, socialist aims of OWS's leaders.
Note that so far, the OWS movement has not clarified its demands. They are quite clear about what they are against -- the government bailing out the banks -- but not what they are for. When they have to start getting specific about what they are for, contradictions will open up between the radicals and the moderates.
Our task should be to exacerbate those contradictions by pushing the OWS leaders to come up with a concrete set of demands. Of course, what the leaders really want is some form of European statist intervention -- perhaps nationalizing the banks, nationalizing more industry, a massive extension of social welfare measures, and above all, massive taxation of anyone they see as rich, with any difference between the costs of their programs and money taken in by taxes to be made up by more borrowing: in short, they want the US to become like Greece.
Once this radical program becomes clear, their support will recede. We need to help them make it clear.
Also: from our point of view, the best thing that could come out of OWS is a left-wing Third Party. A lot of OWS activists don't like the Democrats or Obama, so this is a real possibility. It would be a godsend to the Republican Party were this to happen.
So ... go down to your nearest "Occupy" site and start talking up a Third Party!

Permalink Reply by A.Jean on October 28, 2011 at 1:42am They are a bunch of hypocritical leeches. When they start marching in front of the White House and George Soros' apartment, I can take them slightly serious. It's almost like Woodstock all over again, the mess, the smell, the sex out in the open, the public defecation. I mean what is it they are trying to accomplish exactly? Their signs read one thing, but they are going about this thing the wrong way. They should be going against the White House, and the teachers who indoctrinated them. They are nothing more than useful idiots. My daughter who will be 19 soon, asked me why they are doing what they're doing. She says it doesn't make sense to her.
