"WE CAN KILL THEM BUT WE CAN'T WATER BOARD THEM?"

Yep, liberal logic is never logical...

It is all so predictable. OzBama took 16 hours to decide to kill The Sicko Dog. Klinton passed on The Sick Dog at least 2x. Panetta, by some accounts, actually made this possible. Obama knew too many people knew The Sicko Dog was there so he had NO choice. That is NOT leadership.
Probably water boarding made the killing of the Sicko Dog possible so now we have to tolerate that coverup spin campaign. The democrat media pantywaists are hand wringing over that now. Boo hoo. Why does anyone care what the bombers and beheaders want about photos or burial or anything? Can the kook moslems hate us any more? Just liberal pandering to thug killers again. Good grief. As long as photos somehow hammer America or Republican leadership then there is zero (zero) hesitation. Been there, saw that...for years.
Is it any wonder why the thugs of the world often come out publicly for the democrat presidential candidate in so many modern elections? They know what party panders, can be had for $$$, bows, cuts the military, apologizes, believes thug dictators without verifying and acts like we somehow did not lead the free world thru two world wars. This is because democrats are born social control freak engineers bent upon creating some fantasy utopian socialist nation. Defense simply takes billions away from the demo-socialists that can (should) be used to buy votes and grow the gov-meant.
Quit the hesitation and show real decisive AMERICAN leadership.BTW, just tell the whole truth without all the political posturing for a change!

Permalink Reply by Clint Manuel on May 4, 2011 at 12:45pm This is what's wrong with coining 'War On Terror'. It's not about hunting specific individuals that we are made aware of through terrorist acts or acts compliant to terrorism. This attitude leaves us believing we're winning a 'war' against a sovereign nation and not a wicked political ideology that the fabric of our ENTIRE WORLD is now shot through with! They cover the globe!
Yes, the Islamists are fighting the West with conventional weaponry, but, more insidiously, they have been waging a 'silent jihad' on gullible Western societies with the leg of Islam that accomplishes this through propoganda, Taqiyya (lying and deception of non-believers), constant cries of 'victimization' which leads to policies of appeasement and political correctness, the intentional and hypocritical denial of the obvious and blatant atrocities committed by muslims in the name of islam while placing UN sanctions on the TRUE victim, Israel.
Unless the rest of the world grows a backbone and stands together to acknowlege the TRUE evil that is Islam and putting into place REAL measures - profiling, discarding those deadly PC policies of appeasement and taking direct, unmitigated ACTION against the leaders of these reprehensible groups that mock our reticence and outright cowardice, we will all be the willing or unwilling serfs of sharia in this world.

.. first bin Laden had a gun, then he didn't have a gun. Then he wasn't found due to the information gathered during the Bush "torture" period ... and then he wasn't found as the result of " multiple enhanced interrogation techniques" ... then he was found due to only "some" of the information gathered using "enhanced interrogation". We were told O made a quick and courageous decision to authorize the kill ... now we find out that Obama agonized over the decision for at least 16 hours while the team was waiting on standby to hear his decision. Ineptness is hard to cover up.

Permalink Reply by Clint Manuel on May 6, 2011 at 11:11am Missouri, a short and concise piece that hits the heart of the matter - that the problems we are facing here (and the rest of the planet as a result), is a spiritual dilemma of culture. And the removal of one man, no matter that he was a revered leader of al Qaeda, does not a victory make, no more than Capone's death ended crime. Islam is the enemy and the Western world's social attitude of demagoguery that simply attempts to appease special interest groups at the detriment of the majority is the enabling factor! It is ALL tied together - Islam, economy, political ambitions, gas prices, right to life, immigration. The removal of one does not fix the underlying cankor that will take us all down.
What we are now faced with, in the waning euphoria of the death on one fanatical Islamic leader, is the downside of a sugar high. We need to fortify our strategy with a real diet of pragmatism, integrity and principle, absent of pure political ambition. We need Citizen-statesmen that are willing to SERVE, not expecting to be served.
The so-called "leaders" of the West have lost their way over the last century or more. These socialist ideologues attempt to 'unite the world' by disquising their insatiable lust for power as passion for these minority groups and causes, that are largely disenchanted and angry finger-pointers with selfish, self-seeking goals (Affirmative action? 'Separate but Equal'? 'Hate' crimes?) The fundamental principles from which the once-greatest American nation sprung are what have been under constant attack! These principles that were derived, not from a body politic, but 'Endowed by their Creator'.
"The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind."
--Thomas Paine
Of all the literature, textbooks and files I have on every conceivable subject causing division in the world today, I love using supporting material and quotes from my Essential Liberty pocket book primer. In it is as concisely condensed a summation of the origins and inspiration of our Constitutional Republic and the most enlightened reasoning that inspired and guided our most enlightened founders. The Rights of Man are our legal charter, "...written, as with a sunbeam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of Divinity itself, and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."

Permalink Reply by DaveG on May 8, 2011 at 7:42pm John, you have to be kidding, right? Can you even imagine the problems that the US would have if we had "arrested" bin Laden and detained him for criminal trial? The trial would NEVER END is perhaps a much better way to say it.
The military had been under orders to take out (kill, destroy, dispatch) bin Laden by any means necessary for a number of years. I find it amazing that if we had taken out bin Laden with a 500 lb. bomb or a cruise missile then there would not have been any protests over the way he was killed. But let it be a bullet to the head and suddenly people go all squeamish on the subject. The guy was a Terrorist! He had orchestrated numerous attacks on the United States of America's citizens and those of many other nations, killed thousands of innocent victims, had declared war on the United States and was intent on seeing more people killed. He deserved killing ... does the method really matter?
As to the intelligence we might have gathered from him -- very little, likely. In addition he would have been a martyr even much more than he is, the costs of maintaining him, securing him, trying him, and ultimately seeing justice done would have been staggering. There will be more information gathered from his computers, disks, thumb-drives and tearing apart his human network than could ever have been extracted from him personally.
As to the military's code name for this mission's target, "Geronimo", this is a P-C argument that has no merits except with a few American-Indian activists that are looking for a way to be offended -- at least in my opinion and probably most citizens. It's a non-issue.
