Parental Rights...PLEASE READ THIS!!!
Please copy this note and send it to all your friends. If you have a friend that you would be ashamed to send this to, you probably don't need that friend. This cause needs all the support it can get.
I first heard of this on Mike Huckabee's show on Fox News.
There is a U.N. Treaty that is set to come up for discussion in Washington that would grant minor children the right to file suit against their parents for such things as grounding as punishment and for involving them in activities they don't want to be in. Several countries have already signed the treaty and here are a couple of examples of some things that have happened so far.
1. A ten year old boy thought his parents took him to church to much. They attended church on Sunday Morning, Night and Wednesday night. The boy complained to a counselor that he didn't like going to church so much. The counselor filed a complaint on behalf of the child. A judge later ruled that the parents were to only take the child to church once a week, or else face charges of abuse.
2. The parents of a thirteen year old girl grounded her after learning that she had become sexually active and was experimenting with drugs. Not liking the idea of being grounded, the girl filed a complaint and was soon removed from the home by authorities.
Now, I do not believe in child abuse of any nature. However, I do believe that a parent has a right, (more like a responsibility) to discipline a child who is need of correction, and a right to guide a child down a spiritual path, as long as the path is one of peace. I do not want my rights to do so taken away someday if one of my children decides to have a fit over it.
What can we do? Usually, when it comes to government affairs, nothing! This time is different. There is a movement being led on Parentalrights.org where you can sign a petition to amend the constitution in favor of a parents right to be a PARENT and not just a caregiver and would also throw a giant roadblock in the way of the U.N. Treaty.
4.35 million signatures (equivalent of 10,000 per congressional district) are needed by June of 2009, for the movement to become a reality and hit the floor for discussion in Washington. Please go to Parentalrights.org and sign the petition, become a volunteer, pass this note to your friends and do anything you can to help this cause.

This trend has been going on for quite some time. There is another area of concern that needs to be addressed along with this one...a certain agency that is legally kidnapping children. In different areas of this nation it goes by different names: Children's Services, Children & Family Services, Children's Protective Services, etc. Be aware, folks, that these agencies can and do take your children away from you for no other reason than you doing or saying something that is disagreeable to individual workers. There is no "exact" definition ever given for "abuse" or "neglect"; it is all a matter of what each individual worker thinks it is.
The key point to this and the above post.....parents are losing their God given rights to raise their children in loving, God fearing, Bible believing homes!

Second that, Pam Terry! Teach your children what is right from the very beginning! teach them to love God, and to fear him, and to respect others, especially their elders! It sucks we have to fear our children being taken away if we want to dicipline them ( and by discipline, spanking is included) and guide them (spanking is not necessary all of the time, in my case i use it once in a while to instill fear). People in congress do not understand how they are destroying everything! They are creating a monstrous situation! Brainwashing parents into thinking the government owns them and believes what they are doing is helpful! It's so horrible and only going to get worse! Get ready!

I saw this on Huckabee, also and I about flipped. I am so concerned about this. the people of this country that follow this president ( man ) have no clue what he is trying to do and has already done. I happen to have custody of a grandson. This bill is soooooooooooo dangerous and I've alreay callled my worthless Senators from the state of WVa. The conservative and Christians need to come out of the closet instead of all the trash pushing people trying to put us in the closet. Obama made fun of the Tea Parties but that was just the beginning. I hope Christians and Conservatives stop hiding and come to their senses and start making a stance and stop being ashamed to proclaim the Word and the Truth +++++++++++++++ penny

You know, I really do think it is time to start a grass roots movement to protect families. The first thing that needs to be done is to call for the disbanding of ALL Children's "Protective" Services. This is an agency that sees it's budget increase according to the number of "cases" they are able to make.
Yes, there are cases of child abuse, actual abuse, out there. Yes, there are cases where children are so horribly neglected that someone needs to step in. Both situations are criminal and as such should be handled by law enforcement where there is the need for actual evidence and the protections afforded under the US Constitution are given the accused (even in cases where there really is something criminal, the accused is that...accused only until proven guilty...unlike with CPS where you are guilty period).
In case people haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with these agencies, a few facts:
1) They have the "right" to enter your home without a warrant. They can also swing by your child's school and take them from there.....and THEN notify you that they have them.
2) They maintain a database of "hot-line" reports against you...even if the reports are shown to be unfounded (as in someone calling in a false report because they are ticked off at you for something), that report remains in their database permanently. And, based on the number of times you are in their database, there is a risk level assigned. EVEN IF THE REPORTS ARE ALL UNFOUNDED, A RISK LEVEL IS STILL ASSIGNED TO YOU!!!!
3) As I stated above, the definition of abuse and or neglect is left to each individual worker. That's even those working in the SAME office folks! What one worker sees as normal, another, depending on their own opinion, will see as abuse. And many of these workers who are deciding the fate of your family DO NOT even have children of their own!
Sounds incredible, doesn't it? But it's all too true.
