To say that it will be paid for by cutting fraud and corruption, waste, etc. in medicare and medicaid, is a joke.
If that can be done, why not do it now or ten years ago. I still believe that reform is necessary through
cross border health plans available to all (shop around folks), tort reform big time, and get the individual back into the picture with paying up front money each time a doctor is visited. Government mandates on coverage have helped increase costs tremendously. And the monstrous paperwork that goes with each Medicare/Medicaid patient drives costs for the doctors. Reform yes. More government to screw things up, NO.
Forget the topic of his address. My problem is the fact that he even brought both houses together for a primetime address to talk about it. If you ask me, the President should not be addressing a joint session of Congress because the American people don't like his policy. (Boo-hoo). Primetime addresses to Congress should only be done for the State of the Union address and/or times of national crisis. Failing policy is not national crisis. The attack on this country on 9/11/2001 WAS a national crisis. I think the President (and I use that title lightly) just likes to see himself on tv. I can't stand his arrogance.
He kept referring to the deficit and all of Bush administration mistakes. When will he own up to his own! As far as health care reform he didn't explain a damn thing. Just another campaign speech full of half truths.
my favorite part was nancy pelosi's face when obama was called a liar...PRICELESS...i swear as much as that woman jumps up and down and claps for her lil messiah boy she has to wet her pants...hand the witch some depends please
Our president made it "plain & simple" ...I'm offering you a "grab bag" and you take or you pay the price. Come on Mr. President, tell us what's in the bag! What's the hidden agenda? Give us the fine print.
Why don't the big, bad insurance companies, (including AARP) show up at town hall meetings, organize and join together with the people in favor of lifting state regulations to create a free market option we all agree with? Why are they all in a huddle with Obama in Washington who would obliterate them with a government option? If the insurance industry is "guilty" of trying to make a profit like any other business (morally disgusting idea to the liberals) why are the states regulating their business in the first place? I thought the attack on them was another Obama stink bomb because he is trying to illicit hatred towards the companies he wants to crush in order to overhaul the whole system. Think about it! Does the government regulate any other insurance industry, such as Life or Auto? Are we so lame that we can't demand the state and federal governments to get their sticky fingers out of ANY and ALL of our businesses? Any ideas?
AARP say's they are not patrician, however as I peruse the internet I noticed AARP is advertising on the Huffington Post. I have yet to see the AARP advertise on a conservative web site where I spend more of my time. I think they are in fear of being cut out all together by this administration once the Federal goverenment takes control.
Well, could it be that AARP is on the fence, leaning left, but so greedy it won't declare the deal cut already with Obama! So greedy it is just waiting for the Public option to get shoved down our throats so they canl then quietly jump on the band wagon?
