Maybe we can get her to run for president of the USC. United States of Conservatives! ;)
My guess is she will replace Steele as RNC. Steele had not succeeded in focusing and uniting the Republican party. She's not doing this for family reasons or she would have stated so. There's no way she is making preparations for a run for POTUS because quitting mid-term as governor is political suicide for any elected position.
Well, I'm still processing this news, but my gut tells me that Governor Palin is going to be a powerful thorn in the side of many of the "weasels as usual" of any party.

All the vile Progressives attacking her, from the lowly libridiot sitting in their apartment blogging while sipping a latte, to the powerful libridiots in media, politics, and Hollyweird have been piling on and she just bucked them off....ripped out their stingers and took away their ability to burden her.

Now she can move freely across the country to fight for and spotlight what matters while setting an example for and supporting others who have a shot at changing the face of how politics are done in this country.
God bless her.
Sarah needs to do what's right for herself and her family. She is not leaving the state high and dry, she's leaving it in good hands. The media needs to get over it and report on the news, not on what they think about it.

Sarah is my choice for President right now, I hope she runs.
This is sad. It's political suicide. Her detractors will be merciless in their diatribes, accusing her of running away, and of not being able to stand the heat. True or not, there it is.

Personally, I believe a lot, perhaps most people missed her message entirely - she is stepping aside because she can't get anything done as a consequence of the distractions in an arena of political blood sport - and her state is suffering as a consequence. She's too busy responding to frivolous lawsuits and absurd ethics complaints to accomplish her agenda for Alaskans.

I do not believe there is any secret agenda here, no secret message, no shrouded plan to run for president or any other such surreptitious design on higher office. Like the woman herself, her reason is sincere and genuine. She knows she is a target of a vicious and hateful left wing legacy media and she knows her state is suffering while she has to defend herself against scurrilous, false and outrageous attacks by left-wing bottom feeders. She's stepping aside for the good of her state and her assertion of that reason is as unfeigned, honest and forthright as Sarah herself. God Bless this good woman. I hope Alaskans know how fortunate they are to have such a leader.
She is a fine example of what will be America's next Generation of Leaders after the "good old boy politics" and the 'Socialist Democrats'. Palin/Romney 2012 or Senator Sarah Palin (R), Alaska. O:-)

One Classy Woman!
I believe she said she will be annoucing something when she turns over office at the end of July. I wonder what that announcement is? She has a new cookie recipe? I don't think so. I believe something big is in the works for all of us! She is to good, to right and to hot a ticket to sit around and knit. Something's up, I hope.

I hope the haters and liberal hogs will eat each other for dinner. The only thing missing today was her giving the MSM a middle finger salute. She maintained her dignity at all times. She is a true leader. She was too good for McCain who couldnt beat a 9-year-old for class president. Being his VP killed her career. I bet she wishes she never accepted but the hate against her is unprecedented. God bless Sarah Palin. Karma always calls and Sarah will be holding the noose!
I don't really care what Ms. Palin does. The left hates her, but that's not enough to get me excited. McCain was tanking and they picked Palin just to screw up the female vote. Let's face it, Obama was elected because he is black. I voted for Romney, because I lived in Michigan when his father was Governor and George did a good job in a liberal state. I didn’t like some of the crap Mitt did in Mass., but I realized that in Tax-a-chusets you have to go along with the libs a bit. After four years of this Jimmy Carter/Malcolm X/Lenin wannabe, the voters are going to be looking for guy that knows something about capitalism not a cutesy mother from Wasilla. Better to lose by 20%, as Goldwater did, than by 3% as Gang of 14 McCain did. If not Mitt, then let’s get behind Duncan Hunter.
Amen! Preach on!

I think she is doing this because of the reasons she said. She is not the type of person to be scheming on another agenda. If people think that, then they have misunderstood her all along. It is a sad day for Alaska but a happy one for the Palin family. Not only does she have five children and a husband, but she has a grandaughter and a child that has mental and physical challenges. This is another check for her values. She is putting being a mother first and looking at what is the best thing for the state of Alaska. She would have been a great leader. But you know the media is going to have a field day with this. I am totally supportive of her choice and I am proud that I was always behind her. Maybe she has been thinking of this for awhile but thought this was a good time with people obsessed with Michael Jackson. Maybe now the Palins can enjoy being a family again. Happy 4th of July to everyone!
IMHO, I feel that Sarah could be a good choice as a VP. As to the Mitt thing... I don't know. Personally, the one I would love to see run would be Newt.

Newt is a man full of knowledge, needs no teleprompter to help him along... That is someone that needs to lead the nation. Not someone who must hide behind a press secretary.

I would welcome a Newt/Palin ticket in a New York minute.
