Guess what people? The 2010 elections are just around the corner. Has anyone read "Why I started TCUnation?" It seems like we are all in this mode of b******* and whining. Trolls don't worry you are fine, I expect that from you. But everyone else, it's time grab a bat and step up to the plate.

I admit I'm guilty of it too. But, for the past week I turned off talk radio and the news just to clear my head. Wow, the world still turns. Then, I got to thinking, all our theories were correct. Universal healthcare, bailouts, more taxes, and a true socialist agenda is staring US right in the face. That's scary.

Our Founding Fathers rose up against their country. Yes, they took up arms against their government, but that's all they could do. However, they left US with a powerful weapon - "The right to Vote".

In about a year you will get to exercise that right, peacefully, and overturn a runaway government and put new people in place to begin rebuilding our great country. What country in the history of man has such an opportunity?

Now guess what? You will never elect the "perfect" conservative! I know that may be shocking to hear but no candidate is going to be "all things" to "all people". Just understand that and move on. The bigger problem is we have a socialist left wing determined to destroy what the Founding Fathers built. Pick your candidate but be willing to give a little if they do not actually make it on the ballot.

To put it plainly, if conservatives, republicans, independents etc... continue to bicker among one another, you will not have to worry about elections in the future. Socialist countries don't have huge party problems.

So I ask you, "What is the problem here people?". It's now or it's possibly never. The 2010 elections will be the most important mid-term elections ever held.

I started TCUnation for Patriots ready to begin the battle to win OUR country back!
Loyalist have been replaced with Socialists and muskets with the ballot box.

In the coming weeks TCUnation will begin recruiting Patriots who are ready for that challenge. And, for the good of our country we must put some of our differences aside to win this battle.

Our first initiative is to refocus on State Groups. Join your state group, contribute, or better yet be a leader in your state group.

Regan repeatedly spoke of a "shining city upon the hill". He describes it in his farewell address on January 11, 1989.

"I've spoken of the Shining City all my political life. …In my mind it was a tall, proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, windswept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace; a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity. And if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That's how I saw it, and see it still."

TCUnation and it's members should be guiding lights to such a place. The final paragraph of his speech are words we should seek to speak again:

"We've done our part. And as I walk off into the city streets, a final word to the men and women of the Reagan revolution, the men and women across America who for eight years did the work that brought America back. My friends: We did it. We weren't just marking time. We made a difference. We made the city stronger. We made the city freer, and we left her in good hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all."

I plan on hearing those words again. How about you?

We do have a problem and it is a big one. We cannot “vote out” those representatives and senators who are working against us. We can only “vote in” a good, conservative one. To do that, we must put aside the few things we don’t like about our Republican candidate and vote him or her in over the Democrat. Always keep in mind that the Democrats are united behind their candidates and they will win every time if we split our votes between a Republican who is not perfect and a third party candidate who we think is the ideal. We have to get our side in the seat before we can move up to the better of our two choices. Otherwise, Democrats will retain the seat.
Less-than-perfect Republicans are always better than a Democrat of any stripe. Remember that when you go to the polls
Yes - there are many Conservative Republicans and Independents "in the hunt," as you put it, Mary. Let's just be certain we nominate the most conservative candidates to office and not more sickening moderates, RINO's, and CINO's! Now is a good time to make some needed coalitions and alliances so we can win 2010 and pin a "lame duck" suit on Obama!
That's right - we have to be prepared and willing to be active in the process, and not sit around complaining. Contact senators and congressman, stay focused and diligent, and VOTE! We already see the tide turning in up-sate New York where the Republican has dropped from the race and the Conservative candidate seems to be leading. We're also seeing in 2 prominent Democrat states - New Jersey and Virginia - where Republican candidates are leading for Tuesday's vote.

I agree with your point about getting over disagreements and taking the country back. The awesome thing about liberty, when it's recognized by all, is you can disagree. The problem is when people disagree and try cramming their disagreement down the opponent's throat via government. This is what the liberals are doing now. We need to make sure we don't do the same thing as we begin this journey of taking our country back. By this I mean, we should shrink gov't, but we should not replace one program of theirs with one of ours. We should remove all these programs and get back to what the founders envisioned.

Getting back to basics is right. Our gov't should be focused on one thing and one thing only. That is to protect the individual from coercion. It's when we step outside this and use the gov't for our coercion that we lose our liberties.

Also, we can't just be mad. We have to know what we believe and more importantly why we believe. You have to be prepared to defend your positions with logic and reason. This defeats liberal arguments every time. My concern is if you just believe something but don't know the reasoning behind it, you are setting yourself up to be beaten in the debate. I've seen this even with the big boys like when Hannity has Michael Moore on. Hannity, in my opinion, may have the right beliefs, but he doesn't know how to back them up. Michael Moore stumped him. Beck on the other hand knows why he believes what he believes. So does Limbaugh, which is why they don't get stumped. Educate yourself in economics and history. Both show that liberals are wrong, and if you study them, you can always defeat the other side. You will never convince a liberal, but to win the country back, you need to convince the apathetic. When they say, "yeah but what about this person not being able afford health care" or something along those lines, you need to be able to explain how that person is better off with gov't out of the health care business.

As conservatives, we have a tough fight. It's easy to buy into "free". It's much harder to argue why "free" stuff is bad.

It was once said, "If your work speaks for itself, don't ruin it by opening your mouth." I am sick and tired of hearing both major parties making all kinds of promises and none of them meaning a word they say. I proudly served this great Republic for 10 years with the USMC... as did almost EVERY man in my family. I am actually trying to get back in to serve once more. Must the sheepdog do all of the work? Why can't these whining sheep get off of their collectively padded backsides, and take back this great Nation that so many fought and died for? Count me in...
America is in trouble friends. We are dilly dallying around the real truth, a little boy is in the oval office with monarchial ideas. He is going to sign the treaty in Copenhagen in December? What gives that guy the right to sign anything but endorse beer commericals.
We are all tip toeing around the solution and turn our heads to the the manipulation that is going on...of course, blame white America, blame Bush but the real truth is that creating crisis is necessary for this adminstration to stay in control. The ballot box and the Constitution are a sham to the D C thugs.
I can't believe that the people elected by us to congress are so damn gullible as to let this jerk and his communist cabinet and czars tear our country to shreds. We are not one of his community action programs.
I can't tell who is what in congress any longer. All of them are featherbedded and scared to death. Talking is over. Committees accomplish nothing. It is sickening to see such pandering and patronizing happening. Where is the backbone? The guts? The fortitude to stand up and fight? Voting? Yipee. That will really help with ACORN at work.
I do not believe the Founding Fathers would have let this get this far out of control, a dictatorship is what the boy wants.
I am 70 years old and don't give a ratz behind about all the mealy mouthing going on amongst ALL parties, R, D or Cs. Talking and philosphical debate is a waste of time with what we are facing now...if you think I am wrong, see what happens in January 2110.
