Hope that they will do better in 2010. Because so many people are tired of Democrats with HealthCare, Cap and Trades, along several others. People start to lose faith in Dems so they will vote for Republicans so hopefully that GOP will take over or gain a lot of seats on both House and Senate.
They will gain the seats to stop Chairman Obama's craziness. But the real question is will they do what it's takes to keep the seats. Stand on the conservative points that President Reagan did. Stop spending and get Government out of the lives of the American People weither they be poor or rich and let freedom takes it course. Let the free market regain it's power and most of all stop the Union bullying of companies and workers. Or will the Republicans be glorified Democrats like they were in 2006 when they lost power. President Bush took the blame the the Senate and Congress did do the right thing either.
I'm hoping they pick up 30 seats at least. Though it really all depends on how many candidates come out as true conservatives and how many of the moderate voters turn against the liberals and their crazy spending practices. I suspect many of them will turn away as there is a growing sense amon Americans that congress isn't paying attention to them. e.g. The townhall meetings.
I have always been a "died in the wool" Republican but I am starting to question that and unless Republicans start to come a little more to the right I will find another party. I would like to see the American Conservative Party...I am looking for a FISCALLY conservative Congress and President......LESS GOVERNMENT!
I felt the same way, but then I realized that if the party splits, it only gives the Liberals more clout. I think if we let our elected (I hate this word!) "Officials" know that we want them to be much more conservative, they will return to the truth. We need to let them know that we hold them responsible to "Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States" and to stop allowing the Liberals to interpret and change the Constitution. We also need to remind them quite strongly that in a Republic (which the USA is) the elected "officials" work for the people, not the other way around.
It would be great to see the GOP retake both the House and Senate but it isn't going to happen all at once in 2010. More likely and realistically, the GOP will see gains in both houses, and might possibly regain The House. That would be a huge victory right there, as it would remove Nazi Pelosi from the Speaker's chair. She is definitely the most dangerous person in the House, and she's the Speaker to boot! I really don't see this same thing happening in the Senate even under the best-case scenario. However, the likelihood of getting Reid the hell out of there is very good, and even if the Dems retain control of the Senate, having him out of there would be a wonderful thing for this nation.
We need to get the grass roots out for the primaries and put up lagitament candidates to run against the RINOS in the Republican party. Because if the Republicans do manage to take back the house and/or senate and have a bunch of Olypia Snowes in there to work with the Democrats we havent gained much.
They are going to do great, who else could ever get this country back on track but the republicans and put good valuables back in the good old USA
The Republicans helped put Obama in the White House. What makes you think they're still good for America? I suspect the Dems and Repubs are really one party with two names, all working for the same folks. I have no faith in GOP leadership as it stands today.
I would expect the Republicans to regain the Senate and the House but if too many Americans get really ticked off and assume that it will happen, they could stay away from the polls and the Damocrats would steal another election....they don't need ACORN to steal it...they have their power brokers all over Chicago to send out into the country.....
if people are still out of work next year like things are going , republicans will do really well. every week they shed jobs , shut down buisness , foreclose on houses , devalue the dollar and loose respect from the international community. someone must stop the madness and 2010 is our first chance to put some commen sense back in to our government!
I won't shoot you, or even suggest it. I have a tendency to agree we need a conservative party, but I am not quite ready to throw the GOP under the bus. First, that will assure democrats remain in office, a fate to horrible to contemplate. Second, I would rather see a conservative party start on the grassroots level and move gradually into the national picture.

Third party politics will likely ruin a chane to capture the Governor's seat in New Jersey and will assure that the special senate election in NY stays in the hands of the democrats. That, in my opinion, is far worse than a GOP victory.
