You are absolutely correct. If Sgt. Crowley attends this little photo op WITHOUT a witness he may in fact be as Mr. O said to begin with "stupid"!!!Absolutely not....for a couple of reasons. First, I think he is being set up by these two clowns. It wouldn't shock me at all if they recorded what he said, and used it out of context against him. And second, it gives off a bad impression if he accepts and goes to meet these idiots. It would be nothing more than a photo op for them, and they could then put their own spin on it, saying that he met with them, and in private admitted that he was wrong. (this is only one possibility of course.) I've been a cop for 14 years, and I don't know any of my brothers who go out drinking with those they arrest.
And on a final note...I love how the media has rushed to the aid of this professor who was "arrested for breaking into his own home". He was not arrested for breaking into his home. He was arrested for disorderly conduct when he followed the officer outside and was yelling at him. The oficer was doing his job by asking for proper identification, to make sure that this idiot was in fact who he said he was...the resident of the home. All he had to do was show some identification, and it would have all been over. What if it had been an actual burglary, and the cops just took the word of the burglar when he said he lived there. What would the good professor be claiming then...racism because the officer knew it was a black man's home, and he didn't investigate properly? Give the world a break....not every bad thing that happens to people is because of their race.
I say he should go. Not because I think it will actually solve anything, or that Obama or Gates will change their stances. I think he should go and tell these men to their faces on national television that he did what he was supposed to do, tell them he harbors no hard feelings, and express his hopes that they will apologize for their unacceptable behavior, and just stand firm while they splutter excuses. This will give a REAL authentic American a chance to show the news-watching world what that looks like. Let the world be his witness.

Permalink Reply by Annette Milligan on July 29, 2009 at 1:07pm Let's see. Gates, the police officer, and obama, will meet at the white house to discuss what happened. But now the story is different, because the lady that made the call says she never said "Black man".
Wonder how often the story will change? Sounds like some kind of soap opera to me. By the time it is all over, the police officer will be wrong, just wait and see.

Absolutely! Sgt. Crowley should meet with Gates and Obama with cameras rolling. Then arrest them both. First arrest Obama for treason and being illegal allien. Then Gates will go nuts and can be arrested for obstruction of justice.
