The Tea Party has effectively voted for cutting unemployment benifits and raising taxes. I dont understand the rationale!?!? Are all of the members of this organization employed? Do they Like higher taxes?

Are you for or against the tax extension?

AS is, I am not in favor of it with all the riders that have been attached to it. However, I am against the tax system per se. Yet, the fair tax idea is still to be distilled for it to be practical.....as it does not allow in clarity where the tax is going and how much is allocated to where it is going......yet, it does have simplicity and this I like, as for, "what is simple, is easy to follow."

I am for the unemployment benefits being extended and the tax cuts. I am not for the 500 billion Nancy and Harry tacked on to it! Furthermore, I was taken back at the President having to rely on a past President to do the job he is supposed to be doing! he is weak and not a leader. He needs to get back in touch with Soros and ask him waht he is supposed to do now!!!!

Consensous....

I have seen no evidence to suggest the Tea Party movement rejects limited unemployment benefits that are clearly budgeted for and supports higher taxes. Perhaps if you would supply credible sources to validate your claims we could all check it out a bit more closely. Your claims sound like they came straight out of the Huffington Post (which, in case you didn't know, is not a reliable source of information). <--- Please note my sarcasm there!

In general, the Tea Party movement is not against limited unemployment benefits (only long term benefits that are clearly not budgeted for). With all the waste in government, extended unemployment benefits could easily be paid for by eliminating pork and barrel spending in other wasteful programs. And the Tea Party is not supportive of raising taxes! The tax extension does not change the tax rates that are already way too high in this country.

How does one propose to pay for just ONE component of federal spending if taxes are too high?  This is $228,333.30 per American - including the under 18 year olds not already working.

I don't even come close to making $228k a year, let alone know anyone personally who does.

.

It is self-evident that "Federalism," which began in 1860's and the prime cause of the Civil War, has become the toxic posion the Founding Fathers warned us about. Roger you list one componet of our Federalism apparatus, it is just a tip of the iceberg. As the picture expands with the other componets we can realistically realize that Federalism is the problem and no problem can be solved by the problem itself. Dissolve the need for Federalism and re-establish individual sovereignty of the Citizen and the sovereignty of the States of the Union and place the "responsibilty" where it truly belongs, that is, we the people, as individuals and collective States acting in accordance to our true and legal Constitutional Laws. In historical truth, all constitutional amendments from 1860 to date, along with all the Acts, Reglulations, Agencies, Departments, and so forth are unlawfull and came about by treasonous  actions of our Congressional Representives of both Houses. Our Federalistic Government that is now riddled with marxist socialism is the problem that has to be resolved and in so doing our Republic can once again come to exist. In short, stepping back not in time but in reality, we can step forward armed with knowledge to help prevent future collapses back into Federalism and rampant corruption and moral degenerentcies that feeds off materialistic greed for power and possessions which is in and by itself destructive to the individual, and to the collective society as a whole.

. . . cut the waste, eliminate the clutter, dramatically scale back the size of Government, confine Congress to its enumerated powers in the Constitution and nothing else, eliminate the Federal Reserve Bank and the Income Tax, and give back State's Rights to the States and the People (along with the responsibilities that go with them) . . . and let foreign aid be done by private charities (not Big Brother) . . .

This would be a good start in the right direction . . . in fact, these are the only sane steps that we can take to stop our slide into national bankruptcy and oblivion.

Clearly we Americans need to hit the "reset" button on our federal government.  It do think this "reset" needs to happen rather quickly; however  I don't have a solution.  As the November 2010 elections have shown, elections are a slow, yet democratic way, of making this happen.

...but we can't wait to add patriots to Congress, trickle by trickle.

Roger, the solution is quite simple. All we have to do is acknowledge the Original 13 amendments of our Republic Constitution, all other amendments are unlawfull and this includes the illegal 13th amendment and all of those passed to date. Do read the uploaded files I have enclosed earlier. People are penning a lot results on the new House Representatives and forget that we have a Senate that will over-ride and a President that will veto any productive economic and social changes toware self responsibility.

Furthermore, if we can grasp the true or proper meanings of the Preamble to our Republics Constitution, then equality for all is acknowledged by the Laws of Nature and Nature's God. Yet, while we are all equal, we are not equally developed in our individual nature and our status of being a human being is still in progress for all of us. Be as it may though, we the people must take collective responsibility.

Yes, Roger, there is a growing concern over our country's collapse economically. If things do not change quickly and a economic collapse happerns, then civil war will emerge and possibly a new revolution will transpire as a result. It will be a time that many shall perish world wide and the New World Order may not be the one that the International Bankers have in mind though.

The top 3% of Americas billionares & millionares recieved the largest tax break in American history. It was supposed to be temporary, as to cause the economy to expand and trickle down. It almost created a depression. Why would we want to extend this drain on our monetary wellbeing in exchange for extention of unemployments to the poor and middle class, who will clearly spend these funds and keep the economy afloat? Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are clearly American Hero Patriots that have put greed aside to help average and poor Americans. We do ourselves no service to deprive Americans, it will do us harm in the end.
