The following is an excerpt from an Op/Ed in today's The Cypress Times -

There’s a controversy brewing in Texas. It is a controversy over secession or what some are calling nullification. Some see only secession as the end to government intrusion in our lives while others more hopefully believe that the union should remain intact and that the tenth amendment can be used to force the federal government to revert back to its rightful role. Both are probably right, but for different reasons.

If one were to read the Constitution for the first time; coming here from another planet; he would probably ask why we stopped using that document. Those of us who have lived on this planet and in this nation for all or most of our lives have not seen the gradual erosion of the Constitution. In my seventy plus years on this earth, I have watched as individual freedom was chipped away little by little, and it started before I was born. There is no one alive today who can say they have lived under a truly constitutional government, even though we have not noticed how it was being changed.

Today we are witness to the fastest torturing of our Constitution that has ever taken place. While some of the previous changes have been gradual, what we are witnessing now is anything but subtle.

Glenn Beck expressed his concern in a conversation on air with Rush Limbaugh, and here is a quote from that conversation:

"I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought," Read the rest of the article HERE

Cypress, i hope they do and if they do i will move there to STAY !! I am not kidding the least bit. At least texas has the courage to stand up to tyranny unlike other states that should be following her lead but are instead continuing to live a lie.< See if you can figure this one out.
amen...i am a displaced texan anyway, one state north of texas...so it would be going home for me....texas has courage and lots of it...oklahoma does too and i hope she follows texas lead at least in this arena...(football is a different story)...looks like some of the southern states are getting tired of this liberal crap and are doing something about it....about time
My wife is from Texas and I would move there in a heart beat even if it meant I would have to fight the rest of the world!
Either Oklahoma or Texas sounds good to me right now (in the Army was I stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas in El Paso)! Can't handle that kind of heat anymore, but northern Texas near Oklahoma might not be so bad (even if they do have very large tornadoes). That's what a good cellar is for, right?!
A tornado is smaller than a hurricane :)
we have cellars and basements so come on over....oklahoma and texas are fine to dip your conservative toe in...lol...ps. my husband told me to tell you he was stationed at ft. bliss so he knows what you are talking about....
