How do we get conservatives back in office in 2010?

First they have to be on the ballot and I would guess 99% of the time backed by the Republican Party. Yes I know this may send some of you over the edge but this is just the way it is.

So if YOU are interested in getting conservatives back in office READ ON.

The Most Powerful Office In The World

-To get elected, your candidate must be on the ballot.
-To get on the November ballot you must win the Primary.
-To win the Primary, you must get the support of people who make endorsements in the Primary, who reliably vote in the Primary, and who get out the vote of others in the Primary. Those people are the Precinct Committeemen.

Did you know that many, maybe up to 50% of the Precinct Committemen positions are Vacant! Yes Vacant? And if they are not vacant you have a good chance of becoming one via election.

Imagine, with thousands of vacant committeeman slots open in the Republican Party conservatives could easily regain control of the Republican Party. Before you say anything about the Republican Party read below.

Do you even KNOW your local Republican Party's position or are you just listening to the news?

EXAMPLE:
Last night I went to my county Republican executive meeting. I really didn't know what to expect. To my surprise the group was Very Conservative and very disgruntled with the image of the Republican Party, particularly on the state level. This was encouraging in the fact they were conservative and recognized the fact the Republican Party has an image problem.

I am not writing this as a Republican recruiting new members, I am writing this as a conservative looking for a way to get conservatives in office. Before passing judgement attend a meeting or at least visit your county's Republican Party website. You should get a feel for their position. You might be surprised.

How Do I Become A Committeeman?

The rules are a little different in each county but generally you have to go to a few meetings and get your name on the primary ballot.

Here is how one of our members, Cold Warrior, became a precinct committeeman:

"The requirements vary from state to state, but Arizona is typical. One has to get 10 registered Republican or independent voters from their precinct to sign a nomination form requesting that their name be placed on the primary ballot. (In Ohio, for example, one needs only 5 signatures.) Most precinct committeemen run unopposed. I was able to get my ten signatures in fewer than three hours on a Saturday. As suggested by the existing PCs, I got five extra signatures just to be safe (people move!). Before gathering your signatures, the Party will give you a computer print out showing where all the voters in your precinct live. And how often they voted in the last four elections. You go to the homes of those voters who ALWAYS vote. They will be happy to sign your nomination papers."

Generally a Precinct Committeeman will represent 1000 people. If your precinct has more than 1000 then you may have two. Google your county plus GOP or Republican executive committee and you should find information about your county's procedures.

TCUnation and Precinct Strategy

What can I do? That question has been asked many times here on TCUnation. I believe the Precinct Strategy (PS) is a real grassroots way to get conservatives back in to office. Here is what I propose for TCUnation members.

-Find you local GOP executive committee website. Contact them about your precinct and the requirements to become a precinct committeeman. I found out everything I needed in about 15 minutes.
-Recruit other conservatives in neighboring precincts to do the same.
-If you like keep TCUnation updated. We would love to hear your story.

Special thanks to Cold Warrior for providing much of this information. I strongly encourage you to read the following links below for more detailed information.

This is pretty good information. But I must point out that if you look around there are Positions that are open in most Precincts and even on the Central Committee as well. If you want to get involved in your local Politics it is easy to do and most County Chairmen will welcome you with open arms! I started out by attending the County Convention last April and ended up Being made Ward Chairman and eventually moved up to the Executive Committee just about a month ago and have been nominated for the State Central Committee. I can say for a fact in my Area we have openings in all the Precincts and even some Central committee positions! This is someone (Me) who used to just sit on the sidelines and hope we could get our values elected. Now I have a hand in who is running and who we support! It is important that you get involved as we have a unique opportunity to make a big difference with the next few elections and may actually get the Liberals on the run for the next couple of Decades!!! Just get hold of your County Republican Party Chair or Executive Committee and see what you can do to take your country back from these Socialists!!!!

What you are saying here is very important. I am very conservative - even libertarian in many aspects. And I have been very frustrated with many aspects of the Republican Party. But I am convinced that we conservatives can make much greater progress, and more quickly make a difference by becoming extremely active within the Republican Party. The TPers (third Partyer's ) mean well and are very passionate about change. But it comes down to a numbers game in achieving electoral success. It will take years and several election cycles for a third party to achieve any kind of critical mass - especially in state wide and national elections. In the near term elections - 2010 and 2012 - all that will be accomplished by the TPer's is the conservative vote will be split and fractured. And all that time, the Liberals in the Democratic party will continue to run our country into the ground.

Am I wrong? We won't know until next November will we? I have read the GOOOH plan. I have several problems with TPers and the GOOOH movement. [1] They're trying to replace all 435 members at once. They don't have the resources or the numbers to make that happen. Period. They should take their limited resources - people, money, etc. - and focus on a limited number of key congressional districts that could be moved from a liberal to a conservative (doesn't matter which party). [2] They're completely indiscriminate. You're going to focus the same attention on replacing the likes of Marsha Blackburn, Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann as you are in replacing Nancy Pelosi, Henry Waxman and Barnie Frank? Puh-lease.

In your comment you write - "It is the real solution to having a truly conservative accountable government. " Conservatism is not even an objective of GOOOH. Read the FAQ's. Here is the second main point on their website...

"How can GOOOH be a non-partisan political party?
GOOOH is a process that does not support any particular position on any specific issue. Individuals who participate in the GOOOH process will each define their own platform via the Candidate Questionnaire. GOOOH provides a framework where participants in each of the 435 congressional districts can select the GOOOH candidate that best represents that district. We anticipate that the GOOOH candidate selected by the San Francisco district participants will be left of center, while the candidate selected by the Colorado Springs district participants will be right of center. Therefore, GOOOH candidates will be true representatives of each district's political views."

That's just great. So instead of Nancy Pelosi from San Francisco, we'll get a some other whack job who wants to run my life? Wonderful.

Take over the republican party. I am a precinct chair and have been for almost 10 years now. There are elements at the district level that are moderate There aren't too many of them, but there are enough who are willing to compromise values. So what we need to do is find out who they are and eliminate them when it comes to voting them in.

Everyone needs to find out who their precinct chairs are, make sure they are conservative, eliminate those who are not by voting them out in 2010. Make sure you have conservative challengers.

Conservatives, we need you to take over the party.

I was driving home one day and I saw a bumper sticker on the back of a car that said, "Republicans for Obama". I almost wrecked my car. When I got home I called our local Republican Party committee chairman and told him what I saw. He said that those bumper stickers were made up by the dems and they were sporting them all over our county. So.....I made up one and put it on my truck that says, "If you voted for soetoro/obama then you HATE AMERICA".

I have been active in our county committee for many years. We are very conservative and are still winning conservative elections. Our problem is that the manic, mentally ill dems from the San Francisco Bay area found out where we live and have moved in on us. The races are getting tighter. We have to work much harder but the sacrifices and hard work are worth it. I think the only way we can get a jump start on taking our country back is to impeach the son-of-satan in the white house. I pray everyday that God will remove him from this earth. God answers prayer!!!

I agree we should impeach him while we still have a country! I don't want my kids growing up in some sort of psuedo dictatorship. Which is what he seems to be aiming for in action and deed!!!

I fully agree with you. If we don't get Obama out! We will become a socialist country right on into a communistic country. I don't know what we need to do to impeach him, but it needs to be done now!

Pray Psalm 109:8 for obama, his czars, and for congresss!!!!!!!

Psalm 109:8 says, "Let his days be few; and another take his office."

Earl,

We must start right now to elect every republican to Congress we can. This and only this will stop
the eventual Government takeover. The party is the only vehicle to to do this. The conservative ideas are formulated in many circles but the only practical vehicle is the GOP.
