Trolls - Who are they?
As most of you know I started TCUnation on January 20, 2009 and now we have over 14,000 members. 99% of you are great members and have great contributions to the site or hopefully find TCUnation informative or a place to meet people with similar ideas.
Obviously with so many members there will be a few bad apples trying to disrupt the site. Typically this is labeled a "troll" and assumed to be a "non-conservative" trying to stir up trouble. Note I said trouble as healthy debate is encouraged.
So what do you do about these so-called trolls?
Well I can ban them right? Sure but they will just return with another fake account. In the words of one who emailed me; "F*** You A**h***! Ban me, I'll just sign up again".
What about the moderators? Well they have a tough job and have their hands full. Sure they can engage in warnings and delete posts but that also is pretty futile.
So far I've been threatened by trolls, cussed out, and supposedly turned in to the FBI. I doubt the latter as most of them are so low on the totem poll I doubt anyone would listen.
So think about what a "troll" really is:
1. Someone too scared or insecure to post any information about themselves.
2. They sit in front of their computer all day waiting to prey on someone.
3. They cannot think for themselves, just use talking points rather than intelligent debate.
4. Probably too uninformed to contribute to sites that "think like them"
5. Someone seeking attention
6. No original or individual thought. Rather than think all they can do is attack others.
In the words of Mark Levin they are a "drone".
Trolls are not just on TCUnation they are everywhere. It's the way the left works. Just look at the town hall meetings where they have to bus "trolls" in with pre-made signs to try to drown out the American people.
I will say that a "troll" does not mean a liberal or person with left views. They are certainly welcome to engage appropriatley on TCUnation.
So as we move forward I will work to keep TCUnation enjoyable for you Great American Patriots. Trolls will come and go. Some may get banned and most all will be ignored.
I hope you will work with moderators, as their job is tough, and when you come across a "troll" just chalk it up to another insecure drone seeking attention.

OK, folks, because a few trolls have hijacked this thread to play their silly little games and stir up fights and animosities, I am temporarily closing this discussion until calmer heads prevail. It really is a shame, because we were having a good discussion in spite of a few here that used this forum to demean good parents for making their own best decisions to keep their children home from school on September 8.
While some parents may want to see if their schools will allow them to attend classes when Obama speaks to our impressionable young youth, many schools will not. Like many of you, I don't see the need to feed our children to the wolves to expose them to needless propaganda and indoctrination - but this is a decision that each family must make for themselves; and I support your right to make your own decisions in this matter, no matter what choice you might make. Do what is best for you and your family, but don't use your decision to create needless fights and animosities with those that disagree with your private and family decisions. Let calm heads prevail as I now close this important discussion.

Any parent who lets their children be brainwashed by a tyrannt does not deserve to be a parent and this is going againest their duty to protect their child's wellbeing. If i were a kid i certainly would not want to have weak kneed parents who were so willing to give in to a fraud.

Joan I have a very serious question.. Why do you keep logging on to this site if I makes you so unhappy.I don't know if you realize it but you sound very unhappy. You should be discussing your views with those who share your views. Otherwise it gets ugly and unproductive. Do you like engaging in negative conversation or would you rather discuss your issues with those who share and have a vested interest in your thoughts. Name calling and making ugly accusations against the people who are vested in this sight for the interest of people who share the ideals for which it was created is a waste of time for those who are really on here for the purpose for which it was created not to have to take up their valuable time reading your personal attacks on it's moderators.

Joan I totally respect your point of view. I truly believe that we hold our country and freedom close to our heart. I was not directing my remark about negativity towards you . Today is the first discssion I have had with you. I have however been subjected to some really nasty personalities. I believe we can share thoughts and ideas even though they may differ if we only remember we all want the same thing. In our heart we all want the same thing fbut share different ideas on how we get there. I just wish that on the road to righting what we believe is wrong we did't have to trample over each to get there.

Barbara, Joan is probably gone so I will answer . You will not be subjected to any nasty personalities from Joan, Marylin, myself or anyone we have respect for on this site. We love debate and we especially love civil debate.
Joan, Marylin, Ryan, and Justin are founts of information and are highly articulate. Some are intimidated by their intellect and despise them. I hang with them to become educated. :-)
I would ask that you not take much notice with who speaks, but rather how they speak. Then you will know who to ignore.
I hope you will join in on some of the discussions. Our last Discussion was closed, Thomas Jefferson, meaningful words, but we will attempt to open another one soon. -

First about the moderators. Moderators do not have a lifetime assignment. Probably 3 months or so and they will be swapped out. They also volunteer their time so I appreciate that as well as most members. They are only human so cut them some slack. Maybe a "thank you" every once in a while or "I understand" will go a lot further than arguing.
Those of you defending yourself in this thread and there are several, I'm don't think any names are mentioned in my post. Not sure why you are having to defend yourself.
As for the trolls. They are here, at townhalls, teaparties, other websites etc... Most of them see their agenda crashing and burning and have no idea what to do other than attack and disrupt. Desperation requires desperate measures.
Yes I can see a few trolls that will soon be banned, but I have received overwhelming number of messages from members who know who the trolls are and simply ignore them. -
