They need to listen to their costituents and not other politicians! They needs to quit worrying about getting re-elected and start worrying about moving our country back towards the values that our country was originally founded upon. At this point - all politicians are not listening to the consituency - they are only listening to the Media, Europe, Hollywood, and everyone else but Americans!

I really think we need to find more candidates that will stick to their guns and principles than give in to popularity contests and the latest polls. We have few good conservatives in office, and we need a lot more.
I do worry that if we fail to clearly define real conservatism, many will vote for CINO's (Conservatives In Name Only) that talk the talk but do not walk the walk. This means that we must get back to the Constitution and really understand it so we do not waste our votes on CINO's that will sell us out. And by far the best book I have found for teaching the Constitution from the intent of its Framers is "The 5,000 Year Leap: A Miracle That Changed the Word" by W. Cleon Skousen. This is the book that I only wish I had been taught back in high school. This is one book that all real patriots need to add to their library!

To rebuild the GOP I’m not smart enough for that one, but the simple fact is that we do need a strong leader to get behind. A leader who can stand up giving direction to a great and powerful super country. Have we forgotten we are a super power? Don’t hear much about that anymore. We need a leader to remind us of that and more. A leader who has the vision to bring back a landscape of hope for family values that were so proud of here in America. Family and community are weakened with this mess were in right now, our history shows we have proved were up to this challenge. The erosion of recent years has cost a lot of pain for us all. But we are Americans, we invented fast tracking and now we’ve fast tracked our way to nowhere with no answers to real problems. The country needs to get back to work not with government bailouts, but with an honest individual effort that bring honest results. The magic bullet is the fact that if you don’t want to work then you shouldn’t eat. Don’t riot demanding or expecting a hand out, but be honest and dream a dream, and try to make it happen. Together we all can give a hand up in this. This country of ours is the greatest on earth, and those who don’t think so should leave. Remember the ones who are running things now, in the past they always wanted to make you a victim of something, always looking to spread gloom and doom. Remember has it been so long ago. As their friend you will be as depressed as they are, and that’s just not us so snap out of it. To rebuild there has to be a real hope to rebuild, and a desire to rebuild. I know I have all of that and more. How about you? Let’s get to work.

Mani was right. Don't let the politicians divide us into groups. Do not answer the question whenever your ethnicity is requested. The census is coming and we all need to refuse to answer our ethnicity. I am an American.
The GOP needs to take a lesson from Carrie Prejean. Stand up for principles. We also need to push the state GOP for "States Rights" and a 10th amendment resolution.
The GOP needs to teach limited government. Government's money is what was confiscated from the tax payers. Liberty and Freedom is when the government is out of our business. Conservatives do not need to reach out, they need to talk about personal responsibility, founding fathers, liberty and freedom.

The GOP needs to stop apologizing and quit being the me-too party. The AIG scandal is a good example: The GOP should have been outraged at those who caused the down fall of the industry, such as Barney Frank amd Christopher Dodd. The bonuses were well know and this was a set up that the GOP fell for. Where are the investigations of Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and Timothy Geitner? What about the bonuses paid to employees of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Those bonuses were far greater than those paid to AIG.
The GOP hitched their train by joining the Dems as they attacked private individuals receiving bonuses per contract. Anger was misplaced. Get rid of ALL the RINOS!
We need to ask our representatives "Where in the Constitution does it give the President the right to hire and fire people working at banks, auto industry, etc?

I must take very strong exception to anyone that claims we need better "leaders" to guide us. No, we do not! What we need are Representatives that will truly represent and follow the will of the People, the principles of the Constitution, and the full intent of the Framers of our Constitution. We don't need leaders that think we are here to serve them; true representatives understand that they are here to serve us (We the People).
The Constitution was never about electing leaders to think for us and control us; it was about electing representatives that would faithfully serve us and our Constitution. Leaders, or Representatives? I will vote for a good Representative that will serve the People, but I will never vote for any leaders that expect the People to serve them. There is a very real difference between electing "representatives" and electing "leaders." We need more public servants in office and fewer leaders to get us into trouble!

stop following people like colin powell. Stop trying to become the little sister of the democrat party (democrat party lite). Show the world how there ideas differ from the democrat party. Lastly and most importantly, grow some nads and Fight. Fight to win and when you see blood go for the kill. Stop trying to play the nice guy.

My only disagreement with your post would be this; We need strong Representatives and not strong Leaders. Some may think that I am playing semantics with this distinction, but I'm not.
Where good Representatives serve the people that elect them, Leaders too often tend to think and act as if We the People are only here to serve them. Leaders will come up with novel ideas to bolster their reelection bids, but good Representatives will only seek to restore the Constitutional principles that we have abandoned. We need good Representatives (or statesmen) that will defend the Constitution and not Leaders (politicians) that will tap dance around it!
If only we, as a group, could wrap our heads around the concept of electing good Representatives and not questionable Leaders. They are not the same animal.

Mmmm...I dont think there are any true conservatives out here who have failed to stand their ground.
I think that is what the news media and democrat liberals want everyone to believe.
I personally dont think there is a thing wrong with the party. I think we should stop swinging at pitches in the dirt, stop answering our critics except to tell them what to do with themselves, and be on our merry way. We know what we know. We fight for what is right. We can read the constitution and work hard to make our government fit nicely into it.
Stop listening to the crybabies who spent the last 8 years whining and vilefying GWB for all their woes. You'd think after 8 years and a win for their side (remember they think of politics as a football game), they would move on, but their only goal in life now is to keep talking about republicans like they know something about us. They never will...the concept of decency and for the good of all is so foriegn to them they would fight off something that would save their own lives.
These liberals are too far gone ladies and gentlement and cannot be saved...so why do you spend any of your valuable time giving any consideration to their theories that we need a rebuild?
Ignore those illiterate idiots and get on with the business of being Americans.

I am a republican and we need to restructure according to what helps get our values across but I also believe that there are many consertives democrats that share many of our values that need to be enlisted at this time in order to keep our country from being removed from our possession. Its time for us all with good heads on our shoulders to put aside our differences and remove this viper or snake as it is, that has invaded or Garden of Eden. This is not the USA any more. It is but a mere image of what the USA once was. These venomous vipers that have taken over our country will make us there slaves if they are let to run as they are. The big snake is loose (OBAMA) and if allowed to continue he will be the unfolding of this great nation. Since Abe Lincoln one of the great leaders whom had no love other than that of this being a great nation is a good example of what is so wrong today. He was the peoples power, what we have now is the power of money and greed. Lincoln by today’s standards was a racist, bigot and a bully but he was also a great American This bastard of government Obama is nothing more than a globalist power monger and must be stopped. Earl B you have made some great posts and I'm sorry for high jacking some of them but these are what’s written on the wall and I'm going everywhere even the democratic forums to post these truths as to where are society is going.
