First off I am not a republician I am a conservative and there is a distinct difference. take for example (R) Gov. Arnold Swartzanager and (R) Gov. Sara Palin get my point enough said.

My core principals is to serve my God, protect my family and live my life how I see fit without interference from the government. I believe that abortion should be outlawed, the Death Penalty should be implimented swiftly, Terriorist should be tortured and killed. I believe that gun ownership by citizens is not only a right but a must and should not be regulated by the government. I believe the federal government should only have the athority over our airline tower controls, interstates, and military. Everything eles should be up to the states, and when the federal government fails to serve the states by promoting protection and prosperity to its citizens then that state should have the right to suceed from that union peacefully.

I will fight to the death for the same rights and freedoms that my fathers before me twice fought for (against the brittish and the North). I refuse to stand by and have these rights, that somany before me have died for so that I may enjoy life, stripped from me, my children, and my childrens children.
I am a conservative and soon to be registered Republican because I see the beauty of this nation and the genius of the constitution. I also have a distrust for people in government who try and run my life or fix my problems. I believe in individuals and that every man and woman should be accountable for their own lives. I detest people who live on state funds just because they can. I believe in law and order. I think that if you break the law, you should face your punishment whatever it may be. I believe that the future of this nation depends on how well we can protect the constitution. I will fight to protect the God given rights of every man woman and child, and preserve the constitution.

My core values are:
God Given rights of every human being (Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness, etc...) equally among everyone (Black, White, Purple, Man, Woman, Lib, Conservative, etc...)
Fiscal Conservative, Less oppressive Govt. = more opportunity
Personal responsibility, No entitlements, No welfare, Charity should be given by individuals/ organizations not the Government.

P.S. I hate the global warming hoax Its an cancer that has been stealing peoples rights and ruining the world economy all over the world. I believe in recycling and being as environmentally friendly as you can but the Libs are only using this hoax so that they can steal peoples' liberty and control our lives. And no one questions why the earth has been cooling for 10 years straight.
My short answer is thus:

I believe in Constitutional government.

I believe my faith HAS to affect every aspect of my life, otherwise it's just an act.

I believe a person should have the freedom to do whatever they wish, so far as it harms no one else's person or property or infringes upon another's freedom's.

I believe the government is NOT here to take care of me.

This may get me a bit of hate but I hope to explain. I am a progressive conservative meaning take God out of politics and put in free choice. It also means we return to the core principles such as fiscal conservatism, state's rights, a strong support for our military and veterans, etc. But as a scientist I was also upset with Bush on deciding against federal funding for stem cells (certain sources) which can be gathered from other places other than the fetus. Unfortunately with his declaration the NIH suffered in funding which set us back 10 years.

Conservatism is a political philosophy where being republican is a political party identity. I am still an independent but also a conservative. I love both sides of the story and I hate to straight party vote.

I fought for our country, I now fight for the return of true conservatism in principle. I hate pork barrel politics and the money wasted in this. I also despise that state's rights are slowly eroding. Here in Texas we are fairly insulated due to our constitution but there is still attempts to take away the state's choice to conduct itself as it has always been.

I am fearful under this administration and the socialistic policies it preached. Thus, I joined here to support conservatism and it's principles.
Well im a conservative first and a registered republican second. My philosophies are based in conservatism, the republican party is just a party that slightly matches my philosophies. So point being i can leave the republican party but i will not leave the philosophies of conservatism.

My basic core principle is practacality. I think that in regards to govt, it needs to be practical. THe reason i support conservatism is becuase conservatism is based in practacality. It works unlike other political philosophies that only workout (in the movies).

i fight for the principles of conservatism and i wanna see america be the top dog for 100 more years.
I'm a conservative for many reasons. I think the biggest reason, is that I believe that a country that steps in more and more will be the downfall of a country. If History has taught us ANYTHING- it's that one thing. I found this cool speech from a former Secretary of Agriculture for the US, and I think it sums up how I feel... It's about a half hour long- but totally worth the listen.

http://speeches.byu.edu/?act=viewitem&id=1636

Just download the speech. If this doesn't work, just go to speeches.byu.edu and look up Ezra T Benson and look for his government speech called "Proper Role of Government."
(this goes for anyone who may be reading this... it's an awesome speech with so many of our values clearly defined.
Also- I want to add this... For a marriage class in college, I had to ask some people what they thought helped in a successful marriage. My father gave me this advise, and I think it applies to our country as well.

"Work. Work hard all of your life. Teach your kids how to work. Mow
your own lawn, clean your own house, fix your own car. Work, work, work.
Bruce McConkie said:

"We are here on earth to work-to work long, hard, arduous hours, to work
until our backs ache and our tired muscles knot, to work all our days. This
mortal probation is one in which we are to eat our bread in the sweat of our
faces until we return to the dust from whence we came. Work is the law of life;
it is the ruling principle in the lives of the Saints."

There is no free ride, there is no easy way, if you are going to have a good
marriage then you have to work at it. Nobody owes you anything if you want
something in this life then you have to work for it."
Because there is no way to register as a conservative in my state, I am a registered Republican. However, I am actually a conservative, and have disagree with the Party many times.

My core principles are based on Biblical beliefs first. Many things God has determined right & wrong, no is a higher authority. I also believe the Constitution, as written, is what should be used to govern the country. It is not a living, breathing document. I believe our Founding Father, truly wanted very little government involvement in our daily lives. I do not believe the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness guarentees happiness, health care, or a roof over your head. I believe Founders were protecting the reedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. I believe the Right to Bear Arms is just as important as freedom of speech and religion, as it is designed to be a way to protect all the other right. The Constitution doesn't say the guns are for hunting, but to be able and fight against any government that tries to take away our rights.

I believe that increasing taxes on ANYONE is bad for the economy. If the government only did what it was orginally intended to do, the budget would not be such a problem. I am a true capitalist. If a business can not profit on its own, it should close. It is not the government job to prop it up, or take care of the workers who sadly lost there jobs. I believe the community should take care of its own, voluntarily--not mandated, and the federal government should not be involved at all.

I would fight to protect my family and other loved ones, as well as, for any of the rights provided as an American in the Consititution.
Why am I a Conservative? That's pretty easy to answer. I have a brain and the ability to think and reason (unlike many of our elected officials). My brain possess the ability to distinguish between fact and BS(unlike the voters who put Obama in office). I am a gun owner, Christian and actually work for a living(unlike many of our citizens). I could be nothing BUT a conservative. Let's hope this fire spreads so we only have 4 years of this Obamination for President.

Nuff said

Why am I conservative? I suppose the easy answer would be that most of my family are conservative but that would not quite be the whole story. I remember arguing trickle-down economics in 4th grade with my classmates. I guess I've always leaned towards logical positions in an argument. (yes that was a dig at my liberal friends) Like most people in their teen years I was trying to discover who I was and I questioned myself. I bought every self-help book I could get my hands on to learn how to psycho-analyze me. After spending an entire year reading and studying liberal, conservative, & religious books I solidified my own personal platform of beliefs. I knew at that time I would always be a conservative. I used to think I would always be a Republican but after the last 8 years of ever expanding government they will have to earn every ounce of support I give.
The bottom line is that being a conservative is the only valid expression of my Christian beliefs and self image.
