Every see a man who hasnt eaten food for days (eat a good meal)? Well if you have you know it gets messy and the man will stuff whatever food there is into his mouth (quick and fast). Well the democratic party is like that starved man. They got the power and they are just going nuts now. They wanna do all the stuff they have been wanting to do for years. Now all these programs they wanna start cost money (the govt dosnt ahve money). they cant lower taxes unless they stop spending. they are not gonna stop spending and they are not gonna lower taxes. Liberals always demand that others make sacrafices (they never make sacrafices themselves).

Unfortunately my man, you're preaching to the choir. I think we can all agree that the "no more politics as usual" platform Obama ran on, was utter BS. Its not that Americans have no national pride though, the real problem lies in the perversion of conservative values by the news media. Those in the populace that don't really pay attention to real politics (the majority it seems) were duped. It's not that they have no national pride, they're just apathetic to what's really happening. Please, don't be discouraged, national pride runs deep with average Joe Dem's. and Republicans alike (though you are correct about a small faction of Dem's: Move-on.org, and etc.). I just hope that the moderate democrats see the error of their ways, i.e.: voting for an "empty suit" and not a real candidate. National Pride hasn't gone anywhere, it has been hijacked by the powers-at-be in Washington and hopefully after the next four years of hell, the RNC will be able to take the steering wheel back and correct all the stupid S*** (sorry for the language) Obama has and will do. Just remember: Americans in general think along the same lines, though some are more gullible
than we are.

P.S. its great to see that even though you're a member of the younger generation, you havent been indoctrinated by any liberal school teachers with anti-american agendas!

Stupid question I know but how will lowering taxes get us out of this mess? I understand the concept of the free market and competition but that hasn't worked to well? I would love to hear a solution to this problem. When I heard of the first bailout in November my thought was, let them go under, start fresh. same with the carmakers. My plan ( which my husband heard and rolled his eyes and said it would not work) is instead of giving all this money to banks, auto industry etc, total up that money, give equal amount to each tax paying citizen over the age of 18 with the stipulation that all debt must be paid first (credit cards, auto, house etc.). If you do not have debt then you can spend the money any way you want. I still think this would have been a good idea, loans would be paid, bank would have received their money and the people would not have to constantly worry.

Well, what cutting taxes does is that it allows more money to stay with the people (ie investors). think of it this way if govt today said "sharon, you will not pay any more taxes". I bet you will have a lot more money to spend, invest, etc. This will do one thing, it will grow the economy. Why? becuase the extra money you have the more your spending on (items you were cutting back on). For example that new Wood table you wanted to get. Now you can get that New wood table or the new car or whatever. Your new found money is creating demand for items (which are connected to businesses which are connected to the economy). This new demand that wasnt there before becuase you couldnt afford these things. Greater demands with businesses means a growth in the economy. A growing economy means that you get out of this mess faster. But a shrinking economy means you stay in the recession longer. That is how cutting taxes helps the economy.

Now you said we tried free markets and competation and it didnt work. Now you must understand that Free markets and tax cuts are not two differant words for the same idea. These are differant ideas and not one in the same. What you have to understand is that we didnt get into this mess becuase of Free markets, competation or Tax Cuts. No none of these ideas are responsable for the economic problems. i know politicians and people on tv who dont really understand what they are talking about wanna tell you (these are the causes and how we tried them and they didnt work). But really that is them just playing there politics. This problem was created largely by Govt. The roots of this problem go back to jimmy carter and the community reinvestment act. Then president clinton came in and expanded the community reinvest act. The act basically demanded that banks give loans to people who dont deserve them. in other words this was govt running social justice. not shockingly people cant pay and then you got the housing crisis (which in turn effects the whole economy).

But really to think that free markets, tax cuts or competation is wahts not working is a false statement. We arnt trying tax cuts (infacts taxes are gonna be going up soon). Free markets (well prety much all economicst belief that if we move away from free markets, we are in deep trouble). but anyways i hope this helped explain it.

An even more simple way to put it is: FDR raised taxes during the great depression. What happened? Taxes prolonged the economic hardships, case in point. History repeats itself, get ready.
