It is with great sadness and anger that I report this story. In San Diego, California, Pastor David Jones and his wife were ordered not to conduct Bible Studies in their home with approximately 15 Church members through 'a written warning that listed 'unlawful use of land' and told them to 'stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit' -- a process that could cost tens of thousands of dollars'.

Pardon me, but I believe the Amendment ! is a God-given right, not a government one. In this amendment it states, 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEBLY TO ASSEMBLE; and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.'

I believe just by typing Amendment I, I have made my case. Now show me where the government finds its rights, which it is granted only by us and we have not forfeited them, from this? Do they not understand what it means when it says YOU SHALL MAKE NO LAW? Ah, but you say that only applies to Congress, right? Wrong. Let me explain.

A city cannot make a law which contradicts the laws of the state, neither can the states make a law that is contrary to that of the federal government. This is one of the precious reasons we did not hand over all of the so-called rights this government seems to be able to find when they so desire, yet cannot read their own bills which they pass. We must stop this madness, and stop it now.

For this pastor and his family and for our very posterity, this cannot stand.

"neither can the states make a law that is contrary to that of the federal government."

Oh yes they can. Read the 10th Amendment. Maybe you meant to say that NO GOVERNMENT, state or Federal, can pass UNCONSTITUTIONAL laws. The Constitution of the United States defines precisely the restrictions on Federal authority, it is not the "Law of the Federal government." State soveriegnty and ultimately that of the People is the essence of the Constitution.

However, you are absolutely correct, Rosemary, this attempt by San Diego County "officials" to ban the FREE exercise of religion is unconstitutional. In perspective it is just one more attempt, in a long, long list of current attempts by secular humanists to destroy the Constitution of the United States.

May I recommend you read Gary North's book, "Backward Christian Soldiers", published in 1984 and more relevant today than it was then. The message is refreshing, inspiring, and filled with promise. We must never forget that this nation was not founded by Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, or any other "political party"; this nation was founded by Christians. It has been taken over by secular humanists.

This book indicts the Eschatology of Shipwreck and promotes a Campaign for Christian Victory.

I don't mean to sound all doom and gloom, but this pastor and his wife in San Diego County are some of the first fruits of many "difficulties" Christians will face here in the United States. Those who oppose abortion, or any other single issue, those returning home from military duty--to name a few--have already been labeled. Our government, that is supposed to be for the people and by the people has continued to allow that to happen. There have been no attempts--to my knowledge--to "clear up" the accusation by the DHS. Wonderful, non violent people who believe in the sanctity of human life labeled as terrorists to the United States... who would have ever thunk?

The time is coming: it is drawing very near, but don't worry or fret about what will be. Jesus forewarned us over 2000 years ago that "they" hated Him first. We shouldn't be surprised when "they" hate us. Jesus said, "Woe to them who call evil good and good evil..." All we have to do is take one look at our current administration policies on abortion and homosexuality to know that that "change" is already occurring.

I've noticed something during my lifetime here on this earth. The change we are witnessing today didn't happen overnight. No, it began long ago, even before prayer was obliterated from our classrooms and the teachers lost, not only respect from, but control of, the students. It is almost as if there is an unseen machine grinding away, non-stop at the morality of this nation. It isn't satisfied with simple greed, no; it wants the soul of mankind. It is inevitable my friends that we are here at this particular moment in time. As Christians, we aren't called to sit by and do nothing. No, we are called to stand up for what is right, what is good, and what is pure...even if that means we get "labeled" as extremist. God has not called us to fight as the world does, because our enemy is unseen. The scriptures declare that we "wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers..." The people who do not agree with us, the people in Washington, in our State Capitals, they are not our enemy. They are the pawns our enemy has used in the past, and the pawns our enemy is currently using at this present time.

It is time for the church to get in order. We should be drawing as close as we can get in our relationship with Jesus Christ, because He is going to be the ONLY steady rock we will have in times to come. We should keep our hearts and minds on Him, the Perfecter of our faith because our government--no matter WHO is sitting in the Oval Office--is NOT our salvation, and Congress is NOT our hope. There is only One who gives us hope when there seems to be none, and that is Jesus Christ. Any opposition we voice to the policies Washington wants to yoke us with, is nothing if we are not rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus. We cannot afford to be as the world is. That is not our place.

Like this Pastor and his wife that have been thrust into the National scene--the whole world is watching what will take place. As one California politician formerly declared, "As it goes in California, so it goes throughout the United States." Although he was talking about granting same sex marriage, the same saying can be said for denying Christians freedom of speech, and freedom of religion in San Diego County. If they get away with it, so can others. The ACLU jumps on every chance it can get to squelch "Religion" from the public arena, if given the chance, I'm sure they'll dig their claws in some of this too. The ACLU would only be too happy to stomp on the rights of law abiding citizens under the guise of "separation of church and state".

You are absolutely right David. This country was founded on Christian/Biblical truths. Our founding fathers understood the freedom that was given to them through a relationship with Jesus Christ. They escaped the tyranny of a king so they could worship God without that King declaring how, when and where to do so. All you have to do is read their writings to know they believed in, and relied on God.

Should we make our voices heard on this issue? ABSOLUTELY! Without a doubt we should be heard, but more importantly we should be on our knees seeking the face of God!!!
You're cirrect, That is what I was trying to say. In essense, I meant one state could not have slavery because we have banned that horrific practice. Thank you for the link to that book. I'll try to get to it. I've been so busy, I've hardly had time to write! :)

AMEN, Bonofied1! :)
Are we paying attention? Prophecy is being fulfilled in our time and far too many "Christians" are in denial. Our Pentagon and by inference The White House, burns bibles in Afghanistan, the city of San Diego bans home bible study, praying in the name of Jesus is now actionable, pastors will soon be restricted from preaching biblical truths in the state of California: The full blown assault on the people of God has begun. Prepare for the worst, pray for the best and make our voices heard until they come for us, and they will come for us. May Ha Shem give us strength and wisdom in these dark days.
Thai is an absoulute travesty!!!!! We the people have got to start taking actions against this type of tyranny!!! It is getting to the point of unbearable!!! I will pass this word onto every group I know!
We are in the end times. The Hate Crimes bill will not only ban Christians but also the Bible. Moreover, since any bill can have unintented consequences, the Hate Crime bill would also end up as being a thought crime bill too. This is just the beginning folks. Obama is bending on destroying Christians and Israel. He has already ban Jesus from his news conference.
It is sad that in todays society we see so much of this. It is also exciting to look at this as the birthing pains of the beginning of the end times. I believe that with the prophisies being fulfilled as they are we are, in Gods time, moments from the return of Christ. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places...All of these are the beginnings of birth pains. Throughout history "killer" quakes happened on average 2.4 times per decade. (U.S. Geological Earthquake Survey-Boulder CO) BUT...From 1950-59 there were 9, from 1960-69 there were 13, from 1970-79 there were 51, from 1980-89 there were 86, from 1990-96 (last of information in survey) there were over 150. Chance? No matter that what san diego is doing is illegal. It is against the law for a government to "take over any free enterprise business" ask Chrysler...now GM. We live in a time that is the same as when Noah was about to enter the ark..."for just as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking and being given in marriage, until the very day when Noah went into the ark"...We live in those same times. Most including many Christians just do not believe we are in the endtimes. we keep on living as if we had generations to live...
Here is the latest I found in regard to this in case the info isn't in the above sources. Looks like the county is backing off some now that people from all over the world have complained about the treatment of the couple. Now they are trying to make it about parking violations - any way to get people from discontinuing those dangerous Bible studies! My husband is a pastor, and when we were first married, we had youth group at our home once a week - between 25 and 40 kids. Our college and career group meetings in our home were anywhere from 20-80 people a week. Nobody in the hood seemed to mind - we weren't outside bugging people. What is going on is certainly troubling.
it is sad that they will hidebehind their change of attitude...the SRM (state run media) will neglect the facts and report the "parking problem" and wait till it swept under the carpet...forget justice, truth or anything you and I were raised to believe in...just persecute the good promote the perverse...

They've already told the Pastors in the military that they cannot use the name of our LORD. (I believe that is what the contraversy is over, but please don't quote me.) If we are not close to those times, I'd hate to see what it really looks like. Just make sure you have enough oil for your lamp.
