I thought I'd pop in here for the first time in a long time. Since my last post, I have been playing the sitar live. I took up this instrument back in 2003, after over 20 years of wanting one.

As you might expect, most of the people who are willing to express an interest in this instrument are of the lefter persuasions. I am so torn as a creative person, being immersed in this sea of liberalism.

Having befriended a great many people so far on my Facebook page, I often have to put up with the cliche political banter constantly coming from many of them... the useful idiots on parade in a big way. Why is it that libs feel obligated to spew non-stop about their politics?

I guess they feel they are making some kind of difference by pointing out the latest anti-BP video every day, or making sure we all know JUST how stupid Sarah Palin is.

Myself... I have pretty much purged all things political from my page, because I realize how much of a tired drumbeat it all becomes. I prefer to just be an excellent example in life, and keep my politics to myself, unless I meet someone who I believe is genuinely capable of thinking for him or herself.

But it sure gets tough sometimes. I feel so torn. I would love to be amongst the like-minded, yet the typical Conservative just doesn't seem quite as interested in checking out unique art and music.

It's understandable to some degree for the very reasons I mentioned above. They don't feel comfortable around people who probably are, frankly, just fine with socialism or even Communism.

I basically am living proof that Conservatives CAN be creatively brilliant. I would put my output up against any America-hating lib any day. And I'd be using a Windows-based PC to do it!

Anyway, check out my Facebook page... The American Sitar. I have taken this instrument away from the hippies and am re-defining the sitar as it is heard by American ears. I would appreciate your thoughts.

And if you aren't on Facebook yet, get over yourself and go ahead and get on there! All you are doing is withholding yourself from friends who have probably been trying to find you for 30 years!

And if you are creative, throw up an artist page and start spreading your work.

Thanks,
MC

More that 25 years in TV Production/Broadcast.
Done most of it - Script writing, camera work, lighting designer, set design and construction... Directed Live TV for several years and Produced several Industrial Videos and product roll-outs.

I've been dabbling in the graphics side of things lately...
This is an Avatar I created and use on several Pro 2nd sites...
I like simple... Seems to be effective...

the more canadian people i meet on the net the more afraid i get. one lady lost her young 27 year old daughter to brain cancer because an mri wasnt the first thing done. another friend is walking around on a knee that is bone on bone and is still waiting for surgery. the effect on the people from socialized medicine is so bad we dont even know it and we are walking right into it
i dont want my govt to be the cause of my death like these people

we have to do more. remind people of 9/11, that it can happen again. we need to be in the streets and on the news so we dont go down silent. we have to do something, everything we can do against this garbage that is happening to our country

Laura,

We expect the other "poor dumb bastards" to die BEFORE we let them take our rights. ;-)

Preferably, their death will come from old age, and while NOT in any sort of power position. They will simply have been replaced as a massive awakening of the previously silent is starting to occur now.
