Subj: $50 Million Madison County Tea Party Tax Revolt-Urgent Call to Action

Dear Friends,

This is an urgent Call to Action for ALL Madison County citizens! We need your support on Tuesday, February 16th at the $50,000,000 Madison County Tea Party Tax Revolt at 9:00 a.m. at the Madison County Courthouse in Canton ! Madison County Patriots come and let your voice be heard and ride the bus with "We the People" as we tour "the Madison County Roads to No Where". See where our hard earned tax dollars are being wasted and misdirected to in a part of a recent $21,000,000 Road Plan voted on by four of our Madison County Board of Supervisors. Our county is B-R-O-K-E and a tax increase is sure to come next if the citizens do not step in and use their voice to stop the wasteful and misdirected spending NOW. We cannot afford another tax increase in this current economy.

No more Government Waste: Show me the asphalt! In 2006 the Madison County Board of Supervisors passed a $50,000,000 Bond Resolution of Intent for the Madison County 2006 Road Vision Plan. It was touted to “We the People” and our cities leadership that this money would be used to help relieve heavily congested traffic areas of our cities. The citizens of Madison and Ridgeland voted in numbers on this bond issue and trusted that their officials would be prudent with this money and not waste it. Just 4 years later, almost $5,000,000 (yes, nearly $5 Million) of our hard earned tax money has been thrown down the toilet on project that will not even be completed.

The Cities of Madison and Ridgeland (District 2) have been cut out COMPLETELY! Not one dollar is allocated in this district...not for one stop sign or bolt. In addition, Madison County citizens will continue to pay for this Board of Supervisors blunder in a big way and pay interest over the life of the bond (20 years) on this $4,000,000 which will be millions more. Out of the $4,721,424.58 spent on the Reunion Project (that was killed by the BOS under the leadership of Supervisor Tim Johnson), $3,202,074.15 (Yes you read this correctly) was spent on Warnock and Associates, LLC (Rudy Warnock) on this project alone. Unless Mr. Warnock can lower the cost of his engineering fees... Madison County cannot afford Rudy Warnock any longer!

After leaving the Courthouse we will take a tour on the Madison County Roads to No Where. We will meet up at 7:45 a.m. on the corner of Hwy. 51 and Hoy Rd. at the old Walgreens parking lot. We will board the bus 8:00 a.m. and leave at 8:15 sharp. We will go to Canton to the Madison County Board of Supervisors Meeting at 9:00 a.m. After the meeting in Canton we will take you on a tour to see the “Madison County Roads to No Where”. If you cannot ride the bus please meet us in Canton at the Madison County Courthouse located at 125 West North St. , Canton , MS . Bring signs. Make your own signs or see sign suggestions below:

Please RSVP ASAP to marymclaurin@rocketmail.com to let us know if you can make it so we will know how many buses we will need to rent. Wear MS. Tea Party Shirts if you have them.

Sincerely,

Mary McLaurin,

Disgusted Madison County Taxpayer

Time to Take a second look at Angela McGlowan

DawnS. Comment by DawnS. on February 9, 2010 at 5:52pm
We had a great time today at the "Big Announcement". Angela McGlowan announced today that she was also joining in the race for Travis Childer's seat. We also got to talk and visit for a little while at lunch at the General's Quarters before she had her book signing. I got my copy of her book bamboozled, and autographed too.

The whole event was very exciting, and I always feel grateful to be a part of the political process. She and her mother are very classy, plainspoken, level headed women. It has been a pleasure to talk with them every time.

Henry Ross, who announced last week that he is also running, stopped by the book signing . This, in my eyes, was a very admirable move. She was so kind and gracious. She signed a book for him too. Definately puts Henry and Angela in the lead, in my humble opinion! I am so grateful that in our great country, we can be a part of such a great turn-around that is happening.

Thank God!

Henry Ross Announces his Candidacy for Congress

Henry Ross for Congress Tour
Press Gaggle
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
3:40 PM
Tupelo, MS
Veteran's Memorial Park
In case of rain, it will be held at City Hall

The Following is a press release from Mr.Ross's Campaign:

Eupora, MS--- Henry Ross, retired Naval Reserve Commander and former Eupora Mayor, will formally announce his candidacy for U.S. Congress in Mississippi's first district on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. He is entering the June 1st Republican primary. Ross will launch his campaign with a bus tour of the district. The campaign has planned gatherings with supporters and media in Hernando, Corinth, Tupelo and Columbus.

The Henry Ross for Congress tour will commence in Hernando with a stop at the DeSoto County Courthouse at 11:00 a.m., then the tour will move to Corinth and stop at the Crossroads Museum (Old Train Depot) at 2:00 p.m., and on to Tupelo for a press gaggle at the Veteran's Memorial Park at 3:40 p.m. before wrapping up the tour with a final stop in Columbus at 5:15 p.m. at the Wingate Hotel.

Ross is a lifelong public servant and a fifth generation resident of Webster County. He received business and law degrees from the University of Mississippi. On completion of active duty in the U.S. Navy as a JAG Corps officer, Ross went on to serve as an assistant district attorney, and was later appointed circuit court judge and elected mayor of Eupora. He continued his military service in the Naval Reserve, retiring at the rank of commander. Most recently he served as a Senior Counsel in the Department of Justice in President George W. Bush's Administration. Ross is married to a fellow Eupora native, the former Anne Booth and together they have three children who currently attend the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University. Henry and Anne attend and serve with their brother-in-law, Rev. Randy Wilson, in Eupora's Miracle-Land Baptist Mission

"I want to fight to restore the pillars of faith, family, and freedom on which the founders established this nation. These pillars have provided a strong foundation, but today they are in danger. If any one of them falls, we'll lose our country. We need conservative fighters, who are willing to pay a political price, if necessary, who will do whatever it takes, to restore the pillars of American society," said Ross when asked why he is running for Congress.
MS-1 Congressional District Important Dates:
Filing Deadline: March 1
Primary: June 1
Primary Run-Off: June 22
General Election: November 2

Mississippi 1st Congressional District's Future
To say that the 1st District's Congressional race is a toss up is probably an understatement. The 2010 House race outlooks vary anywhere from "Leans Democratic" to 'Tilts Republican". In any case it is most important that we are educated about the Republican Candidates who are vying for the opportunity to go up against incumbent Congressman Travis Childers. Please take the time to become an active participant and voter not only in the general election, but also in the primary.

I am sick of all politicians who are not for God and country. Many seem to be more concerned with special interests rather than their constituents. I want limited gov't and fiscal responsibility. The average American citizen has to live by these common sense principles why don't these clowns in Washington have to do the same. I pray for a conservative revolution in 2010 and 2012 the likes this country has never seen before.
