You know I am so Fu**ing tired of emailing, calling and faxing Specter's office. Is this idiot a Democrat or a Republican? You would never know looking at his voting record!

I am so pissed off right now. Specter has just voted "yea" on HB 1388- The National Service Bill.


I am wondering who in this group would be interested in scheduling a meeting (as a group) with Arlen Specter in Harrisburg?

I will request the meeting if we can attend as a group and share our concerns. Please let me know...

There is a Tea Party on the steps of the State Capitol in Harrisburg this Saturday, March 7th at Noon. The Commonwealth Foundation is one of the sponsoring parties for it as well as RJ Harris from the RJ Harris in the Morning on WHP 580.

Please plan to participate in this important, peaceful event to protest the Obama Administration's and our the US Congresses' economic policies and massive spending bills! Many of our politicians and elected officials have become so removed from reality, they do not even listen to us anymore! It is time we stand up as citizens of this great land and let our voices be heard! This is our country too!

Please plan to attend this event on Friday, February 27th at the Georgia State Capitol in downtown Atlanta.

He used thousands upon thousands of taxpayer dollars with his county credit card to take vacations with his family, go out to dinner buy gifts for his family and friends etc. When you think about the embarrassment that has befallen luzerne county PA with our judges etc remember it started with this man and he MUST GO!! We are leading the crusade against him come election time and it begins on tues! Also we intend on calling for state rep Todd Eachus to be properly investigated for his corrupt actions costing we the people over a million dollars with his bonusgate scandal among other things! Dear Ms. Wood



Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to the Freedom of Choice Act. It is good to hear from you and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns.

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) has not been introduced in the 111th Congress. Last session, if the legislation had advanced it would have codified the Supreme Court's ruling in Roe v. Wade. This means that every woman will have the fundamental right to terminate a pregnancy prior to "fetal viability" or after "fetal viability" in the interest of the mother's health or life. The bill would also prohibit states from enacting restrictions on abortion, many of which have been upheld by the Supreme Court.



As one of the few health care professionals in the House of Representatives, I have a unique viewpoint when considering the miracle of life. This perspective has bolstered my resolve that all children should be afforded the right to life. I do not believe the conceived life of a child ought to be vulnerable to termination simply because the child was unexpected. I am committed to supporting federal pro-life policies and I oppose any efforts to endanger the life of our unborn children.



On January 21, 2009, 104 colleagues and I wrote the President asking him to reconsider his support of FOCA. I fear this would increase the number of abortions, overturn the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, leave parents in the dark about a child's decision to end a pregnancy, and allocate millions in taxpayer dollars to perform abortions.



To reduce the number of abortions and protect the lives of the unborn, I have cosponsored several important pieces of legislation in 2009. The Positive Alternatives Act would allow states to use monies allocated from temporary aid to need families (TANF) to provide counseling, information and other services to pregnant women who want to carry their child to term. The Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act would forbid taxpayer dollars from being used by family planning agencies that perform abortions. And in order to present to pregnant women all information available about their child, the Ultrasound Informed Consent Act would require abortion providers to conduct an ultrasound before ending a pregnancy.



I have also signed onto a letter urging Congressional leadership to honor the tradition of including an amendment to appropriations bills that prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to promote or perform abortion, protect the consciences of health care professionals, and prevent funding for unethical human embryo experiments. Often referred to as pro-life riders, these caveats reflect the moral concerns of many Americans who do not wish to see their tax dollars used for any organization that provides abortion services.



When considering the topic of abstinence education, I support and respect the decisions of local schools and communities who choose to include abstinence education programs as a component to their health care programs. Abstinence education programs have succeeded in the prevention of teenage and out-of-wedlock pregnancies. As a result of current abstinence education efforts, according to the National Center for Vital Health Statistics, in 2005 the rate of teen births fell to 40.4 births per 1,000 women aged 15 to 19. That's the lowest rate ever recorded in 65 years for which we have consistent data.



It is my belief that Congress has a responsibility to preserve and protect the lives of all vulnerable Americans, including unborn children. I am a strong supporter of the rights of the unborn and I will remain vigilant against any action that would further erode those rights.
