Hi richard,
Please note the updated list of Town Hall Meetings. If you don't see your Legislative District on the list, please contact your legislators' offices and ask them directly.
We have an opportunity to make a huge impact this Saturday, February 20th, 2010! Legislators are taking a break from being at the capitol and returning home to host town hall meetings. This is the perfect chance to follow up with them from Monday’s Push Back 2010 Rally!
The Rebuilding our Economic Future coalition has already caught wind of this and is attempting to mobilize their people as well. They want legislators to use a more "progressive approach" to our state's budget problem, meaning they want them to implement new taxes. Here is an excerpt from one of the most recent emails:
We are calling on legislators to protect our future by taking a balanced approach to the state's financial crisis. But closing tax loopholes and raising revenue (ed. - increasing taxes) requires courage in an election year, and we can't stop pushing lawmakers to take progressive action.
There are just three weeks left in this legislative session, and we have to continue out-organizing the right to win. We have to outnumber them at town halls, on the phones, and in legislators' inboxes. We have to prove that there is real support for courageous leadership in an election year.
These unions and special interest groups are going to continue to make a huge push for their membership to be at these events, and we need to Push Back! Can you show up at your local town hall meeting and represent the interest of the people who will end up footing the bill for their "solutions," the taxpayers?
We cannot let them "out-organize" us! Show up this Saturday at your local town hall meeting.
Please see the list of town halls meetings below; they are all taking place this Saturday, February 20th.
If you don’t see your Legislative District below, you can contact your legislators’ offices directly and ask if they are holding a town hall.
