Broken Promises

And it's just been a month with the new President and Congress. What happened to Obama's sunlight promise? That the public would get to see a bill for five days online before it is signed - broken promise. What about the Democrats promise…

CONGRESS STRIPS E-VERIFY FROM STIMULUS BILL!

Don't Be Fooled by Their Tricks

Congressional Leaders have stripped E-Verify from the Stimulus bill and time is running out. The E-Verify program is now scheduled to expire on March 6th. Earlier today, the House passed the final version vote of the $1 trillion spending bill (H.R.1) by a vote of 246 to 183

and this evening (Friday) the Senate is expected to pass the bill as well.

A Cartoon for the Day

Sketched this out a few hours ago. I don't know about you but I don't like this hand basket. It's dark, cramped, and stinky. We've got to get out of here!

Changing the Electoral College

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-ap-ia-xgr-popularvote,0,3570184.story

The following is a letter I wrote to my state representatives.

I have a few concerns about pledging Iowa's electoral college votes to the winner of the national popular vote.

#1 The electoral college was written into the constitution to help limit the oppressive majority. They wanted to protect the right to own property. They were afraid that if the president was elected solely on… Continue

Conservatives Need a new Party

As I sit here, contemplating the news that the 787 Billion Dollar "Stimulus" package just passed, I can't help but ponder the question, what happened. Nancy Pelosi says that "Today is a day of dSatisfaction". Boy is that not putting the thing in perspective. It was not about the country, but about the Dems "Winning". They are so desperate it is funny. "Swift, Bold Action" that was irresponsible and reckless with the future of our country and my children's future. It is a sad, sad day in America… Continue

The Obama Voter aka Sheep

I have several friends that have not paid any attention to politics until "The Chosen One" came about. They were seduced by his speeches (although i was never that impressed) and his empty promise for hope and change. Many of these friends of mine didnt understand about his economic/tax and liberty policies. All that they saw was his pledge for change. And they voted. They went out in droves to the ballot boxes and punchcards. Now, many of them are back to life as usual, paying no attention to… Continue

Words to ponder - quote from American socialist leader Norman Thomas

Norman Thomas (1884-1968) was a six-time presidential candidate of the Socialist Party.

In an interview during his 1948 presidential campaign, he said:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Our Senator? Call her "Bailout" Patty Murray

Last fall, we were told that we needed to pass a $700 billion "bailout" to avoid recession and to improve the American economy. Senator Patty Murray voted for the $700 billion bailout, and it passed both the House and Senate. Since then, hundreds of thousands have lost their jobs, and the stock market has gone down about 20% since election day.

Now we are being told by President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Tim Geithner that we must pass an $800 billion "stimulus" to avoid… Continue

Is this a magic shell game?

I heard a story about President Obama and the CEO of Caterpillar .

So was the President speaking to a different CEO of Caterpillar? Or did the CEO of Caterpillar just feed him a bunch of hooey? It seems like the double speak is running rampant in Washington. Is this the "Change" the President was speaking of?

Support For the Stimulus Must Be Based On Ideology Because It Surely Is Not Based on Economics or History

I have expressed repeatedly my dismay at the total lack of understanding of economics from President Obama and others. Eugene Robinson and Harold Meyerson each prove that support for this so-called stimulus bill is not based on history, economics or logic. Thee basis upon which they both attempt to justify this spending bill are so poorly researched and argued, that the only reasonable conclusion is that their priority is to push ideology.… Continue

GUN RIGHTS

I'm very concerned about the direction this administration is planning on going with respect to our gun right. I can still see the dump trucks full of guns being destroyed down in Autralia!
Everyone, make sure you are supporting your organizations such as the NRA.... Stand up for for our rights.

RINO's and Bipartisanship

We live in a superficial age where people "feeling good" appears more important than principled leadership, and this is true for both democrats and republicans. Whenever a new president takes office there is immediate pressure, internal or external, to be bipartisan. Bipartisanship is usually manifested by appointments of the opposing party to the new cabinet. In effect, this is purely window dressing and leads to little substance for either party.… Continue

Obama continues "Failed policies of the last 8 years"

I started laughing when I heard President Obama scold Congress about wanting to return to the failed policies of the last 8 years and that it was time for a new direction. Oh, is it?

First, you hear the “failed policy” argument about the Bush tax cuts and the call from the left to repeal them. If tax cuts are such a failed policy, then why didn’t they rescind the Bush tax cuts rather than give more tax cuts during the Porkulous bill? Obviously… Continue

No Earmarks in the Stimulus?? Really??

President Obama has remarked on several occasions that he is proud of the fact that there are no earmarks in the current stimulus package. Really?

WHO: Senator Harry Reid

WHAT: Reid included an $8 billion earmark in the stimulus for a high-speed railway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

WHY IT IS AN OUTRAGE: Not only did Reid renege on his agreement to not include pork in the stimulus bill, he earmarked an unnecessary project in his home district.… Continue

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (Feb. 9, 2009) – The top U.S. military officer said Monday he doesn't expect the United States to deploy more than about 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan, emphasizing the need for the State Department and other U.S. agencies to do their part as well.

Parents Be Warned: They're Coming for Your Children.

I have always been someone who has walked the fine line of church and state. Though I am Godly I am as well worldly as most Americans are. It has always been a tough union to love God and keep his commandments and honor his Word all the while being a fan of movies, sports, cartoons...etc...Especially, when Hollywood increasingly seems to be at war with anything associated with God (ie...anything Christian). Its easy enough keeping commandments (though I'm far from perfect) but the difficulty is… Continue
