There is a good reason that Obama no longer touts his "Green Jobs" and "Green Energy" programs. The potential for green jobs to increase under the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Stimulus program continues to turn a deeper color of brown every day. And to add to the disaster, countries like China actually benefited because they supplied the products and were able to hire their own workers to manufacture them.… Continue

Making Sense of Stimulus Spending
June 16, 2009
How accurate is Obama's claim of 150,000 jobs "saved or created"?
With the economy continuing to shed hundreds of thousands of jobs per month, Republicans are stepping up attacks on President Obama. They claim that the massive "stimulus" spending isn't working very well.
A Republican Party Web site classifies as "fiction" the president's repeated claim that the spending already has "saved or created" a… Continue

Failure to Stimulate
Even the CBO isn't optimistic about the economic impact of Obama's stimulus package.
By STEPHEN MOORE
Rep. David Camp, the ranking Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee, asked the Congressional Budget Office to estimate the economic impact of the new $800 billion stimulus plan. On Monday CBO came back with its astonishing reply: The whole thing is a net long-term negative for the economy.
CBO does say there will be a… Continue

Just a note to report on the Tea Party in Fayetteville, NC yesterday. Turnout was good, better than expected with about 80 people in attendance. Considering the impromptu nature of the event, we were all well pleased. There were some great signs, among the best "Obama quit using your Chinese VISA card", "Honk if I am paying your mortgage", "I have cancer and I am still paying my mortgage", and the very best, a huge, fold-out display listing the size of the stimulus… Continue

I have expressed repeatedly my dismay at the total lack of understanding of economics from President Obama and others. Eugene Robinson and Harold Meyerson each prove that support for this so-called stimulus bill is not based on history, economics or logic. Thee basis upon which they both attempt to justify this spending bill are so poorly researched and argued, that the only reasonable conclusion is that their priority is to push ideology.… Continue

These confused Republicans are the reason for the party losing its way. One can not be partially evil, a little deceptive, or only sometimes, make policy choices at the expense of the citizenry based on an ulterior agenda. Today, there is no such thing as a centrist Republican. The Democratic Party is not the party it was when this term was applicable. We must not perpetuate and embrace Liberal ideological diction which is aimed to distort pre-established definitions. If one side is hot and the… Continue

The Fierce Urgency of Pork
By Charles Krauthammer
Friday, February 6, 2009; A17
"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe."
-- President Obama, Feb. 4.
Catastrophe, mind you. So much for the president who in his inaugural address two weeks earlier declared "we have chosen hope over fear." Until, that is, you need fear to pass a bill.
And so much for the promise to banish the money changers and… Continue

CBO: Obama stimulus harmful over long haul
Wednesday, February 4, 2009
Stephen Dinan (Contact)
President Obama's economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.
CBO, the official scorekeepers for legislation, said the House and Senate bills will help in the short term but result in so much government debt that within a few years… Continue

President Obama wrote an Op Ed in the Washington Post spreading "doom and gloom" and a sense of urgency. Here's my response to the President's desperate attempt to scare the American people.
President Obama in italics.
"By now, it's clear to everyone that we have inherited an economic crisis as deep and dire as any since the days of the Great Depression. Millions of jobs that Americans relied on just a year ago are gone; millions more of the nest eggs families worked so… Continue

By now we all know of the so called stimulus package the Democrats are trying to shove down our throat. Any day now I expect to see Finch from ShamWow trying to sell us the damn thing.
The House Republicans stood together and all voted against the bill. Now it's left to the Republicans in the Senate to kill it or offer an alternative.
Well Sen. Jim DeMint will offer up what he called the "American Option". Both parties agree we need to get money into the system to get the… Continue

Today, Tom Daschle pulled his nomination for HHS Secretary. I consider this victories 1 and 2.
Victory 1: Tom Daschle gets his due for not paying his taxes and the American people are reminded that no one is above the law (except for Tim Geithner)
Victory 2: Obama admitted that he was wrong which therefore tells the American people that Obama must not be the Messiah.
Victory 2 is the first thing that Obama has done in his first month that a) has not sucked and b) I… Continue

As more and more details of the fraudulently named “stimulus” bill come out it becomes ever more clear that Obama and his Democrats are viewing the financial crunch as a not-to-be-missed opportunity to just lard up the budget with items they could never get past a GOP Congress or a GOP President.
Mark Steyn has the proper take on it has the proper take on it:

The new bill Congress is proposing and backed by the Democrats is the largest spending bill ever. This stimulus bill is equal to borrowing over $10,000 from every family in America.
Are you aware of the hidden liberal agenda in the Bill?
Here is a summary as described by Heritage.org
- Over $142 Billion in Federal education funds: Nearly double the total outlays for the Dept. of Education in 2007 – making good on Reid-Pelosi-Obama education promises to…

Ever since this recession began government, TV, and friends have been giving everyone the same advice. Save... Save... Save. Now Obama wants us to Spend... Spend... Spend. Isn't that genius? People are losing millions, some even billions left and right and the only way to get out of this is to spend more? This entire "Save" idea first started happening when Al Gore invented Global Warming. (Right now, I think we can use some) Then after that, when the oil "crisis" happened, the liberal solution… Continue
