I wonder if the White House Military Office has ever heard of Photo Shop?
If the Bush Administration had authorized a secretly scheduled low fly over Manhattan - I can only imagine the screaming liberals right now saying that he was insensitive and insighting fear about the "so called" war on terror and they would be calling for public apology and resignations; as well as John Kerry calling for a Senate Hearing about it. Of course we just get a brush off, no big deal from Gibbs. I hope someone decides to sue for inducing panic and for post traumactiv stress.

I've seen this all over today and that's a good thing. This stunt is a classic example of pure hubris. This man thinks he has cart blanche to do whatever he wants. Obviously he cares nothing for the tragedy that made New Yorkers and all Americans so jumpy. If he did, he would have known better than to okay this kind of stupidity. He's an ass, plain and simple.
But I have to add, and this is not directed at you by any means, so many have made the generalization that any "kid with a computer could Photoshop that in 10 minutes." That is not true. I'm a designer and I can tell you, to properly comp a photo takes a lot more skill and a lot more time. I'm really tired of people thinking my job can be done by anyone with a computer, it's insulting. Again, that's not directed toward you, I'm just venting. :)

Absolutely an excellent point. This was ABSOLUTELY NOT AN ACCIDENT. These people are NOT stupid, they just act that way on TV. Believe me when I say there was a reason for that. In fact, that excuse is without a doubt one of the lamest excuses I have ever heard anywhere, bar none. We are in SERIOUS trouble here.
