Sen. Cornyn Questions Search for "Fishy" Information on Healthcare
The White House has asked the public to send the personal emails and conversations of others about the healthcare bills that seems "fishy" to a government email address specifically set up to take in healthcare questions and support the President's approach. Sen. Cornyn has challenged the President and sent a letter to him saying so. As Sen. Cornyn points out in his letter, there is no "...precedent for a president asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White House for pure political speech that is deemed 'fishy' or otherwise inimical to the White House's political interests." Cornyn also wondered if the administration would notify those reported for "fishy" speech, what the government would do with their information, and if Obama's own words, such as a speech in 2003 when he advocated a single-payer (government-run) healthcare system, qualify as "fishy" information.

Thank Sen. Cornyn for standing up for all citizens and their First Amendment rights! This kind of leadership and standing for the citizens is rare and very important.
