According to Ben Johnson of LifeSiteNews.com, former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told AFR Talk’s “Today’s Issues” yesterday the Democrats’ formal support for marriage redefinition “will be the best thing that’s ever happened to the Republican Party, especially in the South and the Midwest.” This indeed may be the trend if the recent statements by The Coalition of African American Pastors are any indication of the way the political winds are blowing. According to a story written by Star Parker of the Scripps Howard News Service published in The SantaMariaTimes.com, A group of 3,700-plus black pastors

of the  Coalition of African-American Pastors, under the leadership of the Rev. William Owens, has moved to formally oppose the Democratic Party and President Barack Obama on this issue. Ms. Parker, whose ethnicity is African American, also wrote in her article titled Parker: Black pastors oppose sanctioning gay marriage,

"This Coalition of African-American pastors is showing, very much in the spirit of the civil rights movement, that the political choices facing blacks are not limited to deciding which political train to get on. They are jumping up front to influence where the train is going.

It's high time for blacks to serve up some black tea to the Democratic Party, as the Tea Partiers are doing with Republicans, and move to change the values and direction of the party they have loyally supported but that no longer represents their interests."

The recent Chik-Fil-A controversy has also started to change some hearts and minds in the African American community. In his article, "My Black Dad and Chik-Fil-A", Lloyd Marcus at The Conservative Und..., tells of a conversation with his 84 year-old father who has voted Democrat for almost all of his life. At the beginning of their conversation, the elderly Mr. Marcus said to Lloyd, "“All I know is Chick-fil-A discriminates against gays.” By the end of the conversation, Lloyd's father said, “I'm going to Chick-fil-A today to spend some money.”

The restoration of God's principles are starting to resonate with people who resent the push that the Far-left extremist groups are attempting to make, of which the LGBT movement is at the forefront. Pastor James Robison and Jay W. Richards in their book "Indivisible", published by Faith Works, quoted Saint Catherine of Siena who said, "If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire." Indeed Christians are starting to do that. In both political parties there is a conservative movement. According to The Tennessean out of Nashville, TN, the Tennessee Democratic party has disavowed its primary United States Senatorial Candidate winner Mark Clayton because he reportedly supported a so-called "anti-gay hate group". (Translation: He supports God's principles.)  Indeed Christians must continue to be the salt and light, in order that God will heal our land. In November, part of the healing process will take place in the voting booth.
