FOOTSTEPS FOR FREEDOM (This is why I am walking to DC)

I was born in a nation that had purpose, knew where it stood in the world. It was a leader, a beacon of hope for the rest of the world. It was a place were a man could stake out his claim, could work hard and achieve great things, if only he had the will to seek, with diligence and determination, a dream. It was a place where neighbors looked out for one another. A place where if your barn were to burn down, the whole town would be there to help you rebuild it. Friends and family would give freely to help someone in need. One did not need to lock the doors of his car, or even his home for that matter. There was trust, for the most part in what a man said he would do. There was for the most part a feeling of mutual respect for the dignity of mankind. People were for the most part, trustworthy, helpful, friendly, courteous, and kind. Common decency abounded. People were thrifty, if they needed or wanted something they sacrificed and saved until they could afford to get it.

There was pride in our country, we had just recently secured for the world, a hard fought for peace. We had pushed back evil, and defeated one of histories most brutal group of tyrants. This great effort cost our nation a great number of lives. These brave men were regarded as hero's and held in great esteem. The world was grateful and looked to us for leadership.

As a child I remember the "cold war", the world was split into two major ideologies. One of freedom and the dignity of the individual, where the people had a voice in their governance. And one of oppression of the masses by a few, who dictated what was "best" for society as a whole. This was a long, hard fought, Ideological war, one in which many lives were again lost in "hot spots" and "regional conflicts". This "cold war" was won by the fact that a free market, one that rewards innovation and efficiency, could out produce markets that were dictated by centralized governments. In a nutshell, freedom, and all it gives mankind was proven to defeat tyranny.

Today, I see the freedoms I grew up with being taken away by a political atmosphere of entitlement. One that rewards those who would take from the hard work of those who dreamed big, and worked hard, all in the name of "fairness" and "equality". One that tells its people that they are "victims", and those who did work hard and gained some substance for their efforts, are in some way "evil" and "greedy". A new atmosphere of "I deserve to have everything you have, even if all I do is sit on my duff." Well let me say this, LIFE ISN'T FAIR! That was one of the first things my parents taught me as a child!

Our nation was founded on a few basic principles, that all men were created equal, endowed by their creator with the unalienable right to pursue life, liberty and happiness. In fact the original wording went like this.."life, liberty, and property!" Our Constitution and the ensuing Bill of Rights, lay out in no uncertain terms, limits of power to the government of this nation. It laid out very specific and limited duties to a Congress of representatives of the people. Very specific and limited duties to an Administrative branch. And very specific and limited duties to a Judicial body. This same Constitution and Bill of Rights, after laying out these very specific limits of "powers" to the separate branches of government, in no uncertain terms, gives all remaining unspecified powers to the People. In fact the opening words of this great founding document are "We the People". This nation was founded on the principle that it be governed, by the people, for the people and of the people. That the government worked for the people and the people had the ultimate power to govern itself. This great nation was set up as a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Our founders knew that a democracy was, in its purest form, "mob rule", and was not a reliable source for freedom or liberty. They knew, that a Democracy would crumble as soon as its people discovered that they could vote for themselves the "riches" of the productive members of society. It has been said that a society that seeks to distribute its wealth "evenly" would soon run out of the riches of the productive, because the productive would cease to put forth the efforts, with out the prospect of reward.

This brings me to the reason, the purpose if you will, for my "march" to Washington DC. Our country has been hijacked by an ideology far different than those of our founding fathers. These people, who have usurped power, who have unlawfully ceased control of our government, are in the process of consolidating power against the will of the people. They are bankrupting our nation, and are in the process of rendering all freedoms of the people null and void. They are throwing out all the rules of legislative procedure, and seek to marginalize any voice of dissent. When it is clear that they are unable to pass, through the legislative process, the "changes" they seek to impose, they unlawfully go about doing things through the "back door", wholly against the "will " of the majority of the people.

For the sake of our country, in which I love, something has got to be done soon, before it is too late. We the people must take a stand, we must draw a line in the sand and say Enough is Enough! The "Tea Parties" were a good start. They let the "powers that be" know that there is going to be resistance to what they are doing. This is about far more than massive spending and runaway debt. It is about a runaway, out of control government that seeks to control every aspect of our lives. It is about a government that has far overstepped even the bounds of a tolerant people. Time, in my opinion is running out. The time for real action is now!

I seek, by way of walking to Washington DC, to bring the people at large to a better awareness of just what is really happening in the halls of our government. To bring to the forefront the fact, that the man who now occupies the White House is not a natural born citizen and has no legal grounds to sit in that office, he is a usurper. To educate the people of the danger our nation truly faces. To rally the will of the masses to stand up and be heard. To let this group of tyrants who have taken control of our government know, that WE THE PEOPLE will not allow this to happen anymore. To bring to justice the treasonous acts of those who seek to destroy our place in the world as a leader of freedom and basic human rights. This is my goal, to cause such a stir, that it becomes impossible for the "Main Stream Media" to discount or ignore the true will of the majority of the people.

I feel that this is a calling from God, and God is on my side. He is my strength and my guild. I give all glory to Him, for this nation was built on the foundations laid forth in His word.

I have a web site set up for the specific purpose of having an outlet for people to follow my progress as I go, and to help me with "grassroots" support. I will be uploading daily video of my journy and I will be posting regular blogs to report on how things are going. There is a "donations" tab at the top of the main page, so anyone who may be so inclined, may help out with the cause. Afterall, I will need some way to support my family while I am gone, feed myself, and buy new shoes while on the road. I will need several pair of them while out I am sure, LOL. I also plan to donate any funds left over to a good charity..possibly "Children of Disabled Veterans"

I say as I go........
GOD BLESS THIS GREAT NATION, THE LAND THAT I LOVE!

I fantasize that thousands of people join him along the several thousand mile journey, all walking together and standing up for our country...

But, no, that will never happen. And of course, most people will not know the story of this hero that is trying to save his country in his own way.. If his name was Cindy Sheehan, we would know, but alas, it is not.

What I would like to see is Americans dropping what they are doing and walk with you! I see no better time than now to physically take part in your venture, because if we wait, Obama will have us reduced to slaves, no freedoms, no guns for protection and with no liberties with which to voice our discontent with his policies. There will be a day, which is rapidly approaching, where Obama will be dictating to us what our personal priorities are and we will have no choice in the matter. Actually, that's already here but it will get a lot worse. This wonderful man and his family are giving up a lot to make a statement on our country's behalf, shouldn't we be willing to do the same. If we are thinking we can't walk, you know there would be those who would help in every way they could to feed, clothe, and provide money if they were unable to physically participate. Lets give this some serious thought. Can you imagine....several million people marching to DC and holding these pirates accountable for their actions!
