Government Spending Cuts? Here's A Good Place to Start

Representative Tim Griffin of Arkansas has a good idea about where to start in slashing government spending.

According to Alexis Levinson at The Daily Caller, cell phones were added to the original Lifeline program started by the federal government designed to provide telephone service to low-income Americans.  Levinson conducted a recent interview with Congressman Griffin. He relayed to Levinson that the annual cost of the Lifeline program to the federal government runs well over one billion dollars.  He said, " People are not only getting one free cell phone, they are getting multiples.....and they're not just phones that are able to dial 911, They're Smart Phones. They're the type of phones thay you and I pay hundreds of dollars a month to have contracts for."  The cell phone companies themselves are indeed part of the problem.  Griffin added, "For every one they give out, they get money from the federal government, so they have incentive to give away as many as possible."
