The cartoon showed a calvary soldier on horse back asking a question of another calvary soldier who was on foot viewing a corpse (Uncle Sam) which corpse had a long screw sticking out of his mid section. The soldier on horse back asked the dismounted soldier, "COMANCHE?" This is an allusion to several scenes in cowboy and indian movies where someone was asked to look at the arrow in a corpse and identify the arrow and place the arrow with the tribe of the arrow shooter. The dismounted soldier, standing beside and viewing the corpse, says, "Nope, I'm thinking LEFTE."
