John Kerry makes the common miconception that climate change is based upon FACT

The following is a letter I sent to John Kerry:
"Climate change is not governed by a recession, it's governed by scientific facts about what's happening to earth. And you either accept the realities of the science or you don't. You don't enter a mutual suicide pact because the economy is having a hard time right now. You certainly have room to negotiate at what the rate and schedule is within that, but it doesn't mean you can sit around and do nothing." --Sen. John Kerry (D-MA)
I would like to point out, Senator Kerry, the error in this line of thinking. Climate change is hotly debated BECAUSE there is a lack of facts. Global Warming is supposed based upon a CONSENSUS and not hard fact. Science deals in absolutes, and I believe this and other issues such as evolution are theory and therefore should be kept out of our public schools. When presented as fact, this only serves to muddle assumption with hard, proven fact. I do not argue that our climate is changing, but I will say this: We are closer than ever to the sun at this time given the present solar-cycle. We have not proven that Climate Change is a direct result of human interference or not. And lastly, it has not been decided whether the globe is actually warming or cooling! (Not to mention - how many Global Warming Summits and Conferences have been iced out, snowed out, etc.?) Stop lying to the American People and telling them that something is so when in truth, we just don't know.) Climate change is governed by supposition, not fact. Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this and understand the true Conservative point of view concerning this issue.

Climate change, while an important issue has been hijacked by theory, consensus and suppositions. It is also a potential instrument by which every aspect of our lives could be governed. We must speak up and correct these illogical statements when we hear them- for the good of all humans, all over the world. Global warming becomes a religion based upon faith without the facts in place to make it science. Please feel free to pass this on and let Gore and Kerry know that statements like these threaten the truth about climate change.

I agree along with many Conservatives- pollution is not good and there are productive ways to combat that issue. But I think it is silly to impose fees on the two plants right down the street (ALCOA and Formosa Plastics) that they just keep paying and keep on polluting... If we push much harder on these already economically starving business (everyone is hurting, I know) - we will drive these businesses to some other country like China (one of the biggest polluters doing little to help out). That will ultimately hurt the worker- the American who is just trying to feed his family and pay his bills in the midst of all these things crashing down upon the whole of the nation,nay- the globe. Thank you for your comments!

I understand what you are saying, but unfortunately I am one of those that do believe in "global warming". I think the warming part is incorrect, I believe that the climate is changing, hotter, wetter summers, colder winters. I do not know the severity, but to think that with all the people on this planet, the destruction of the enviroment does not somehow harm the earth makes no sense. What measures should be taken, I don't know, I am not a scientist, but you cannot pollute the enviroment and not have some kind of consequence.
