social network for conservatives
Doesn't take them long to politicize every tragedy possible. The left is now using the Sikh temple shooting to call again to disarm America, this time with so-called self-help guru Deepak Chopra chiming in.
Here's the thing, lefties. The issue isn't as cut and dried as you make it sound. Guns in fact save more lives every day than they take. It's just that the media only pays attention when somebody dies. Completely ignoring for example, the elderly concealed carrier who saved lives at an internet cafe. And of course there is the story of the anti-gun senator who managed to shoot an intruder. I guess guns are ok...but only for them.
The mainstream media never pays attention when something like that happens. The 2nd amendment issue is one that hits very close to home for me because my mother would not be with us today if not for the fact that she was carrying a .380 in her purse when a man attempted to attack her when I was a child. She was walking out of a store and noticed a man walking behind her. He lunged at her when she reached the car, she pulled the gun on him, he said something along the lines of her being the luckiest "b****" on earth and took off running.
Gee, what would have happened back then if things were the way the left wants them to be? It's not something I like to think about. I should also mention that my brothers, my father and I, we fended off a home invasion once using guns as well. We were living in a house out in the country and had a guest over and when he stepped outside to walk to his car, he saw people dressed in dark outfits. One on top of the roof and the other around a corner of the house. Yes, we used those evil guns we owned to chase them away. They ran like bats out of hell and never came back.
But like I said, stories like these are never covered by the mainstream media. And I bet these kinds of stories are more common than they would like to admit. Things are not as cut and dried as the opponents of the 2nd amendment would have the world believe. Guns are not evil. They can be used to save lives when people turn evil.

Comment by Steve on August 8, 2012 at 10:00pm That's awesome. Lord knows what would have happened if your uncle hadn't been armed with that M-1 carbine. My father used to have one of those by the way. He loved it.
Comment by Shayn Roby on August 7, 2012 at 2:18pm Great story Steve, my uncle apprehended a fugitive from a Tennessee state prison in the 1970's. He knocked on the door of my Uncle, Edwin Roby and asked for gasoline. Uncle Edwin could see the imprint of the pistol in the sweater that Michael was wearing. He shoved an M-1 carbine with a 30 shot banana clip into Michael's face. The man who said "I won't ever be taken alive." decided to give up. He put down the pistol and waited face down, spread eagle in the snow until the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents and other law enforcement officials (Stewart and Houston County Sheriffs Departments) arrived to take him into custody. If not for that M-1 carbine with the 30 shot banana clip, it could have been another "prisoner escapes and kills family in home invasion story".
