There's way too much going on in our country right now and there’s lots of great commentary, so I'm not going to add many opinions here. Just the facts, Mam. The funny thing is that I’m here working in Chicago again and I feel like writing, but don’t have the time to elaborate on what others have said so clearly.
More Media Malpractice: During a report on the Tea Party movement, CNN put “INCITING VIOLENCE?” on the screen under video of Sarah Palin while a panel eagerly agreed that the President’s political opponents are indeed inciting violence and are motivated by hatred and racism!
"The leftists in the media would do well to remember that their liberty to be a free press comes from the same constitutional amendment as the tea party crowd's liberty to gather together. And our elected leaders would do well to remember that the First Amendment exists to protect average people from the government, not the other way around." --columnist Ken Blackwell
"[W]hat are the tea partiers really angry about? Health care reform or the fact that it was an African-American president and a woman Speaker of the House who pushed through major change?" --MSNBC host Chris Matthews
Washington Times; ..."Mr. Obama's election brought the United States astronomical public debt, a slumping currency, increasing government control of the economy, continued job losses, radical judges, a disastrous foreign policy, a government takeover of health care and a job-killing energy bill. Americans -- some unwittingly -- put in place the most radical government in generations, and they now are realizing what they have wrought. The results...cannot be ignored. Democrats have failed to exhibit responsible stewardship of the country, and voters are putting them on notice."
Abortion and Health Care:
"When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes mandatory." -Thomas Jefferson
The Family Research Council reported that Bart Stupak and his coalition had the votes to kill the health care bill. Stupak emerged from a meeting with President Obama (I think he received airport grants or something) having agreed to support the Senate bill in exchange for the President's promise of an Executive Order to prohibit taxpayer funding for abortions… Pro-life leaders are astonished that Stupak, after having fought so hard, trusted the most pro-abortion President in American history to advance the pro-life cause, especially since Rep. Stupak and his group know any President can reverse an Executive Order at any time, and that a pro-abortion federal judge could well repeal it. Planned Parenthood celebrated with an email blast to their supporters: "VICTORY!" Leading pro-abortion Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) told the press that the Executive Order "doesn't change anything".
Washington Post’s Kathleen Parker memorably said: “When all the power of the moment was in his frail human hands, he [Stupak] dropped the baby.”
Wisconsin Right to Life Legislative Director Susan Armacost said that the president signed “this bogus executive order, knowing full well that it does nothing to stop the new law's massive government funding of abortion and it does not provide adequate conscience protections for doctors, nurses and other health care professionals who are morally opposed to the destruction of the lives of unborn children through abortion." The fact is, an executive order (EO) cannot override statutory law. Congress ignored the explicit wishes of the American people by voting to establish taxpayer-funded abortion. The AUL legal team has concluded that an executive order is not an adequate fix to mitigate this legislation's establishment of taxpayer-funded abortion.
Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries writes, "Many are dazed at the rapid decline of America. The passage of health care wasn't about health care; rather, the socialization of America. America just came under the power of Saul Alinsky. But some of us, while grieved, look at the broader picture." ...Globalists have no respect for the people who elected them; no respect for their office; no respect for the American Constitution; no respect for what it means to be entrusted by the people of any nation to serve in a high capacity. Their only maniacal goal is the consolidation of more money and power into the hands of the few in order to control and manipulate the entire world."
Sign seen at the Nevada Tea Party rally - "I need a Job! My family can't eat Health care!!"
The number one superpower has been America and now we see her imploding due to corrupt politics, greed, love of self, love of power...former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay condemned the actions of the House saying, “Not only did they not listen to the American people, they shredded and trashed the Constitution and then stood there on the floor of the House and lied to the American people."
Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. - James Garfield
