Paul Mitchell is well-spoken, eloquent and a great orator, in addition to holding dear the founding fathers and our judeo christian heritage. It's no wonder he's all those things; he's been married for 14 years, has four lovely children, is a former Air Force Sergeant, and has a BA in Economics with a minor in History from the University of Texas at Arlington.



He spoke at the Palatine Tea Party on July 4th, and I put together a video of it. He struck me as someone who genuinely wants to get rid of some of the corruption and waste that Illinois has become infamous for.

There was a time when regular people became involved in politics - not millionaires. It is time that regular honest hard-working people took back their government from the tax dodging career politicians who have never worked in the private sector. Politicians today don't understand or appreciate capitalism, free enterprise or what will truly "stimulate" the economy. The assault on our values and the middle class and the poor-has to end.

When watching this, tears welled as I thought about how more people should read the founding documents to have a better understanding of what's in them and what has made America exceptional over the past two hundred years. What an amazing document that Declaration of Independence is; and how similar the challenges are that we face today! Paul obviously has much appreciation for it; as we all should have.

He faces a social liberal Republican incumbant, but I think he will do well if he gets the word out that he is running and is not a RINO.
