The White House Gang Isn't Shooting Straight About Border Security

What are we to make of this?

First Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano tells Congress that “I say this again as someone who has walked that border,” she said: “I’ve ridden that border. I’ve flown it. I’ve driven it. I know that border I think as well as anyone, and I will tell you it is as secure now as it has ever been.”

Second, if the border was secure then why has the federal government closed a park along the border. Come on Secretary Napolitano told us that it was safe. Why close the park if the border is secure?

Third, Senator Kyl reports that Obama told him he wouldn't secure the border without a bill granting amnesty (e.g. comprehensive reform) to the illegals here already.

Do you really uphold a President that is openly willing to forego his sworn oath to Protect and Defend our Cititzen's and our Nation to gain votes? We need a full blown un-biased investigation to reveal whether he is derelict in his duties and causing harm to our Nation and Citizens for political gain, an impeachable offense.

Thanks for the video. I hope Republicans don't go all weak kneed on this and continue to press for a secure border before we move on to the discussion of what to do to clean up the mess (sounds familiar).

Well ... I see Obama has sicked his "cover men" on this one today... he knows he stepped in it, and it stinking. But now we have indeed a he-said/he-said situation. Too bad Kyle didn't bring a tape recorder with him ... where ARE those Nixon tape-recorders when you need them?

Dave,
That's an interesting point. One of the sacred duties of a president is to protect the citizens of the United States. If that presidents administration tells citizens they can't go to a park because of violence spilling across a border in the form of illegal immigration then it would seem a president has failed to fulfill the oath of office. Further if the president has failed for naked political reasons, as seems to be the case here, are we talking an impeachable offense?

Isn't it amazing how Napoli-can't-do declares that the borders are safe, that her agency is doing a good job of improving security -- but you hear a far different cry from the sheriff that is in charge of trying to control some of this land from illegal thugs, drug runners, and muggers.

It is bad enough that we are having to deal with the illegal immigration issue, but many do not realize the extent of the violent crime and subsequent import of criminal activity that moves right on into our own country as a result of this encroachment. BASICALLY, THE UNITED STATES HAS CEDED THIS PORTION OF ARIZONA TO MEXICO ! Plain and simple, we can't enter the land to visit (safely or legally now), and we can't exercise any type of law enforcement because it is too dangerous for LEO's to go into the region.

What a mess, and yet it is worsened because Obama is holding the amnesty card up and demanding it be played in order for the game to proceed. And that is all it is to him, it appears, a game within politics. But he is gambling with American lives, both in Arizona and throughout the rest of the United States. THAT is criminal in my mind.
