I've had it with government spending.  People who are given money (including welfare/food stamp recipients), don't give a darn about how they spend it, and it's now more apparent then ever.

Do we see the debt ceiling for what it is, or are we "Slaves to Words"? No substantial reforms.

Cut the spending. http://bit.ly/mFIPw3

THOMAS SOWELL: SLAVES TO WORDS

This week the so-called "National Debt Ceiling" hit its congressionally
established limit of over $14 trillion. For every person in the United States,
that's $45,300 each!

How can the American people settle for "substantial reforms" in lieu of holding
the debt ceiling at its current limit? When was the last time Americans believed
elected officials would keep their word?

Cut the spending?  Don't you think that suggestion is just a little to practical for D.C.?  Oh, we have the empty promises from the trusty GOP to fall back on though, don't we?  Just look at what Boehner did in his last "showdown" with Obama & Co.  He reduced the spending cuts originally proposed by less than half, but went on to say that, over the next decade, those small cuts will reduce the deficit by $315 billion.  And where did that figure come from?  Why, one of his aides, who certainly had the credentials to substantiate that figure, I'm sure. Of course, the GAO just reported that the aide slightly overestimated the reduction - by $193 Billion!  So, when we are looking at saving only $122 Billion over ten years, against a straight-lined deficit of $16 Trillion over that same time period, how can we possibly call this reform?

Now, along comes Newt (never saw a microphone he didn't love) Gingrich, bashing the GOP's recent budget proposal.  And Boehner just thought he had problems with the last financial challenge!  Newt, to me, is irrelevant when it comes to the knowledge of what it takes to run a country.  I am from Georgia, and I have, for years, endured and or puzzled over his non-sequitur policies and decisions.  Yet, now, Democrats are going to pump up his ego, making him "The Voice of the GOP", as they try to convince the people that even the "strongest GOP candidate" is against the proposed budget.  The debt ceiling will be lifted without "substantial reforms", and Americans will begin to circle the drain, to drown in the ocean of debt, heavy inflation, and suffocating regulation.  Meanwhile, Obama will invite another rapper to the White House to sing about something offensive to 99% of the population. In the words of Cher and the late Sonny Bono, "and the beat goes on."
