It is not surprising that President Obama's campaign would allow this to happen in light of previous behavior exhibited by the President during moments when respect and American patriotism are supposed to be on display.

Such a display of disrespect for symbols that most Americans hold dear is indicative of someone who was raised around lots of anti-American sentiment, and who quite obviously never served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. It sends a flippant disrespect to all of those who have served and given their lives for freedom in the United States of America.  More than likely, such anti-American sentiment will not be seen anywhere near the White House after the swearing in of Mitt Romney in about five months.
