First Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light”. We, as born again believers in Jesus Christ, are chosen, royal, holy, peculiar, and ones who show forth His praises.

A Chosen Generation

John 15:16 says, “Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you”. Let us always be mindful of, and not take lightly, His hand upon our lives. In the latter part of Esther 4:14, the question is posed to us which says, “Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? “. We are on this Earth for a divine purpose. It must be lived out through our lives.

A Royal Priesthood

Revelation 1:5-6 says, “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen”. We are kings who have authority from the Lord to decree a thing and it be established. We are priests who stand in the gap and make up the hedge for the nations and the people.

An Holy Nation

First Peter 1:13-16 says, “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy”. As we cooperate with His grace – His power activated within our lives - we are able to be holy in all manner of life and conduct.

A Peculiar People

Second Corinthians 6:16-18 says, “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty”. Let us always recognize and give reverence to the awesome truth that we are His temple. This means that we cannot live any way that the flesh dictates. First Thessalonians 5:19 tells us, “Quench not the Spirit”. And, the first part of Ephesians 4:30 instructs us, “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God”.

Showing Forth The Praises Of Him

We show forth His praises by walking in what we know - by walking in the light as He is in the light - by being doers of the Word and not hearers only - by having faith with corresponding actions - by doing deeds of love and compassion unto the least of these His brethren.

Let us take His Word into our spirits and fully walk out who we are in Him. Let’s give Him all of our praise right now. Amen. Hallelujah to His name forever!

Praise the Lord! Jeremiah 29:11 is a good scripture to add to this. God bless you.

Great article!! I have one scripture to add. In Jeremiah 29:11 God tells us,"I have a hope and a future for you. "
